The prices are a bit exaggerated now, we got the plus deal and paid 75$ per person only for them not to have about 3-4 of the promoted itemsThey should’ve told us that instead of pushing that extra promotion on us

We got seated nearly immediately (party of 9, showing up at 7pm on a Friday) which was a nice surprise. Our party contained 3 kids under 10 which is always challenging but the servers were kind. It took awhile for the chicken to come out and when it did, it was surprisingly tacos? However the chicken was delicious when barbecued. Their vegetarian selection was bell peppers and onions. Not a big surprise given the menu, but also not a ton to eat either. The other items we ordered were all great, with the exception of the fish. It was very fishy. The atmosphere seemed to be fun, loud Even for a Friday night.Vegetarian options: Salad, or bell peppers and onions

Wow this is different from the Fremont location. This location does not care about customers. The people in front of us were here for 10 minutes and no one ever greeted them. I can see 2 no 3 tables looking around for people to take their order and no one cares. No one made eye contact with anyone in line and there are more dirty empty tables that haven’t been cleaned than there are tables with customers. Will never recommend this location. Managed very differently

So, let me spill the tea on Gen Korean BBQ - it's my absolute jam when it comes to all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue. Seriously, nothing else compares.Picture this: we rocked up an hour before closing time, expecting a bit of side-eye or a rushed vibe. But nah, the staff were total gems, chill as can be, and made us feel right at home. Now, onto the good stuff - the meat. Oh man, it's like they sprinkle magic dust on it or something. Each slice hits the grill and transforms into juicy perfection. And those mandoo dumplings? Pure bliss in every bite.Parking? Piece of cake. They've got their own lot, so no circling the block a zillion times. And let's give a shoutout to the servers - always on point, making sure our grill was good to go.Bottom line: if you're craving some killer Korean BBQ, Gen Korean BBQ is the move!

Gen has been one of my go to kbbq spots. I've frequented many locations- Cerritos, Rancho Cucamonga, Mountain View, Fremont, & San Jose. Ambiance, service, & food had always been spot on.... With the exception of the Concord location. And mind you, as a former food worker & current health care worker, I am totally understanding & empathetic when it comes to short staffing & dealing with large parties. We all know the restaurant industry is not the same post covid and the world is short staffed. I don't mind waiting for food. I have easily waited 1-2 hours for Gen bbq so many other times. Waiting is no problem. However, the service our party received last weekend after a miscommunication was blatantly disrespectful, appalling on the manager's behavior, & left a really nasty taste in my mouth, but most of all, a sad disappointment in one of my favorite and frequented kbbq spots. We had driven from San Francisco to Concord for my son's basketball tournament. The boys were hungry after the game so we decided to head to Gen. Since we were a large party of 20, the first thing we asked the hostess is if they could accommodate our party on such last notice. They said yes, but there would be a wait.... Which we didn't mind at all because we were expecting a wait anyway. A server said something to someone in our party and we assumed we were being told where to sit. So we sat down and waited. The manager went up to one of the dads in our party and confronted him very unprofessionally & disrespectfully in front of the whole team. He accused him of saying a bad word which was "pissed off." First of all, no one in our party had said they were pissed off for waiting and we even confirmed that with the waiter who had no idea what the manager was talking about. He also berated us for not making a reservation in advance and how dare we expect to be served in such a large party on a Saturday afternoon. We totally understood that and thats why it was the first thing we asked the hostess. (Also, we have walked in to the Mountain View & San Jose locations with a party of 20+ on a Saturday & were accommodated just fine). A simple no from the start would have been just fine if it was that much of a hassle. We didn't have to be berated by the manager.Luckily, there was another kbbq spot close by. Ohgane was able to sit our party. We called in advanced. I should have known to just go here to begin with since I enjoyed their Oakland location. The service was much better and they're highly reviewed. So save yourself the trip & trouble and just go to Ohgane. If you're craving Gen or like the aesthetics there, I recommend just going to the Mountain View, San Jose, or Fremont locations.

I am always here with my friends.Sadly, i came today with my friend during Monday lunch time. When we sat there, the server said it will be dinner rate because it is April’s fools Day and it is a holiday. It is ridiculous. Oh well I guess the joke is on for eating there on April’s fools Day.

Waited 10 minutes at the door to be seated and waited another 10 minutes at the table with the server apologizing twice that they will be with us soon as they continued to serve the neighboring tables around us.Nothing on our table except plates, chopsticks and the barcode menu. Walked out.
