I got a veggie burger to go and fries. I was on time to pick up and the fries were already soggy and flaccid. The veggie burger was the California, the Patty was fine but the Lettuce was starting to turn and the amount of avocado and sprouts was a joke!! Not worth 15$. Do not waste your money. Partner got the classic and the meat was good but they forgot the cheese..Vegetarian options: Don't do it!!

A small, local cozy place with good music not too loud, just right. Service is quick from waitress Sadonna (cool name). The burgers are juicy. The fries are hot. The tri tip was good. They have beer on tap and plenty of wine. It was crowded on a Friday night we waited about 10min for a table #12 in the window. That just means it's good. We'll be back again...

One of the best burger spots in the bay. I'm not sure why I don't come here more often. The flavor is amazing, it's definitely worth the $. I love the option of the flat fries too. Everything is just super yummy. Definitely recommend! 10/10 everything. Food, customer service, ambiance

Beware: we acquired terrible food poisoning from the milkshakes here. The health department forced them to shut down in June 2023, yet they're still operating with a placard that says "pending" 5 months later. Staff was dishonest with me about the reason for the pending placard, but according to the attached health inspection report they found dead and live cockroaches in the kitchen as well as perishables like milk, cheese, and cooked veggies not stored at proper temperatures, or left out of refrigeration entirely....and it doesn't appear they are making the necessary changes to keep their customers safe.

We ordered burgers and a Roach literally crawled out my daughter's burger!!! They would not give us the owners phone number. We will be taking legal action... Can you imagine eating and a ROACH crawls out??

I am giving up on Mona's. It used to be a place for a really good burger and fries, although pricey. There was a guy that worked there who seemed to make sure everything was right. During the pandemic I started using DoorDash, but frequently they wouldn't get the beverage. This last time I figured I would pick it up myself. I ordered online and arrived at Mona's exactly at the designated pickup time. The order had obviously been sitting there but there had been no follow-up text saying the order was ready. $30 for a cold burger and fries is too much. Plus it seems like the size of the burger is smaller than it used to be. Not worth it.
$18 truffle burger with goat cheese. No trace of truffle whatsoever and a crumb of goat cheese. Absolute scam. Onion rings -meh. Classic burger added $3 bacon and I got one stale piece of bacon ripped up. Overall, I didn't care too much for the prices but don't rip people off. If it's a truffle burger there should be some kind of truffle in it wether it's actual truffle, truffle oil, truffle essence...something truffle! Then The goat cheese pissed me off, like where? Where my goat cheese at? At the same time I see my husband pulling out the bacon from his mouth saying it taste old and stale. LOL First and last.

Last time I'll be patronizing this establishment. My family has been here a handful of time and the first few times, I just contributed the waitress lack of customer service to it being busy. However, we've been here on a slow weekday and she still choose to ignore us show utter distain. My wife actually had to ask her for menus on the slow day when she opted to ignore us and instead chat with a white couple at at the bar and older white woman that was feeding her dog in her purse at the bar. Last night, I realized it must be us. We were ignored, she let another group that went inside sit at a table that we were in line for. The waitress looked disgusted that she had to deliver a salad to us. We are both POC, so I'm no sure if it's an issue with us being a same sex couple, mixed race couple or being African-American. Take your pick! However, I definitely picked up what she was dropping and don't need to take my family anywhere where we are not welcomed. 3x was more than enough. It's troubling when minorities choose to exclude instead of include. I'm not sure if she is the owner or a worker but other people should be aware of her deep disdain and apparent comfort level with showing it to paying customers.

I guess I was a day early for National Cheeseburger Day 9/18. But yesterday I came to Mona's during happy hour, which is 2pm to 5pm. On the happy hour menu is $4 beers, $2 sodas, chicken tenders and wings for $5, and of course, choice of burgers/fries for $11. We ended up ordering all of the above. Chicano Burger: this burger has cheddar cheese with guacamole. I added an extra 1/4 pound patty for $4. It was decent. An average burger taste-wise. Chicken tenders: these were excellent. Really tender and fried perfect. I would order this everytime I come to Mona's. Buffalo wings: these were standard, good tasting, freshly fried wings. Great deal for happy hour. The service was excellent and very friendly. The prices were excellent for happy hour. Can't beat $4 IPA and Lagunitas beer.
