Walked out immediately. Terrible smell and the place was absolutely filthy. Food was counters, walls, and doors. Couldn’t believe the employee thought it was acceptable.

This place was honestly gross... it was absolutely filthy inside, half the ingredients were mixed together and there was literally food sprayed all over the walls, the counter, and pretty much everywhere else. The person that took our order faked giving me and my friends scoops of toppings, he just started scooping the meat on without clarifying what we wanted and didn’t even put the sause we asked for on it. It was a poor job and I will never go back here. Save your money and go to the other Poke Bowl places because this place will probably make you sick.

The employee that fixed our bowls seemed like he hated his job & they were out of most of their ingredients. Wish they were better prepared.

I didn't look at the reviews before I came here. But Looking at the reviews now I see why people are saying this place had unfriendly people. Co-workers appear to not get along. Asked how he was doing and was ignored. Shitty attitude. I will never Come here again.

I used to come here when it first opened and it was a great and affordable place to grab poke, but I went back yesterday post-COVID and I wish I checked the reviews again before going. I asked for the spicy tuna but when I was about to eat it, I thought it smelled really strange? Sour? Checking the reviews now, I'm glad I decided to separate that weird tuna out of my bowl. I was also a bit surprised biting into my seaweed salad because it was still half frozen. Maybe I will just steer clear of the tuna next time, since my salmon was okay.

This place should just close. I used to come here a lot even before covid and it was really good. The staff are nice and the place was clean. I just got a bowl today. And the staff was upset waited a good 3 min for him to come out of the kitchen. Then when he came out he just asked for the paper and not even welcomed us. The place was really dirty. Almost half of the stuff I put on my list wasn't available. And the way he just puts the ingredients on the bowl was just unpleasant he just throws the food in the bowl with anger. He got mad more when I asked him not to put too much crab meat because I wouldn't eat it and I didn't want to waste it. But he then put a lot and shakes his head when I said I didn't want a lot. Not even a thank you or anything. This place is a total mess.

The seaweed salad was frozen and made my whole bowl super cold & I couldn't go back in there for a new one because it was closing. Also the rice was hard and seemed like it was out for a while. I wouldn't go here I'm pretty sure all their ingredients are old and not fresh!

Went in a little before closing. Worker was very rude when we walked in. The seaweed salad was frozen and the rice wasn't cooked well at all. The sauce was running out and he didn't bother to refill it. First and last time coming here.

Walked in, place was empty, I get it, person was probably prepping in the back. But after standing there for a while, and loudly saying "hello" guy popped out the back, looked very annoyed and asked what we needed..!?! Food? He said: fill out forms and dissappeared again. Forms NOT at the station they were supposed to be so we didn't see them before. We fill them out. He was rude, no smile, no thank yous just snatched our forms. Then he continued to look at forms and say: we don't have salad for the bowl, we don't have chicken teriyaki for the bowl, not even a sorry or anything. Just plan rude! We left. It was about 6pm, dinner time. Other locations were packed, but this one. This is not the 1st time we have experienced this from this location. So sad. Place looked super messy and dirty too.

Omg! I went to this place today and after a very unfriendly experience with the employee I walked out, not giving them my business. I decided to read the reviews and it sounds like I avoid a unwanted meeting with the bathroom. The place was completely dirty but I was still willing to give it a try because it's in the veranda. Boy. I apparently escaped having to s*%t behind a dumpster!

I came in 15 minutes before closing, but everything still looked fresh and delicious! Bryan (or Brian), the person helping me, was super kind and offered great recommendations. Overall, there was amazing food and service! I will be back :)

So I would give this place 5 stars considering the fact that I used to come here frequently. But I'm giving it 4 due to the hours. Sometimes he's not open on time and then we have to wait a while. I've seen the reviews talking about how some of the selections aren't fresh or specifically the "spicy tuna"? I don't really eat tuna so I've never experienced getting sick from this place. However, I can say the salmon is always fresh and the portions are very generous. Some places tend to not give you enough protein. The guy who serves you is also pretty friendly. I think people mistaken his quietness for rudeness. Since last year, my friends and I have never had a bad experience coming here.

The selection of poke and toppings here is incredible, and the quality is consistently great. As a sushi snob, I'm very impressed with the place and it's my favorite place to go for poke. The only reason I'm withholding the 5th star is because the place has a stocking issue. This is not uncommon for small, family-run, non-chain businesses--but popular items run out daily, which saves money, but drives down customer reviews. When I read through the other reviews on here, most of the complaints are some variation of "ran out of _____". As an ex-Panera employee, I know firsthand that people do not like to think about the exact food they want to get from your restaurant and drool over it all day, only to arrive and find that you are out of a key ingredient (at out store, it was broccoli cheddar in a bread bowl, and God help you if your store runs out of butter packets). Our new GM at my store cut stock to save money and almost immediately our reviews tanked about 30%. If they're out of salmon at this place, I just cancel the order, because nothing else is going to taste as good once I'm disappointed. That's a lost sale every time they run out of salmon, and they run out of it often. Another major complaint is the customer service. I'll happily be the first to say that this zip code has a pretty snobby clientele, and as an Asian business, even pre-Covid, I sympathize with the employees. The racism they experience there must be just rampant. The Veranda, from a marketing perspective, is clearly built by and for the white and light-skinned communities and carries with it all of their prejudices. That's a tough working environment. Still, if you're not a friendly face when a customer walks through the door, they're going to feel unwelcome, and that's always bad for business. Even if you don't want to make small talk, a smile is always safe, and remember to smile with your eyes; it makes it look like you mean it, even if you don't.

I agree with other reviewers that the staff is not friendly. I felt so rushed to get my order through. Ran out of an ingredient. I love Poke, but will not go back to this one. Two hours after ingesting my Poke, I got sick! Perhaps some of their fish isn't so fresh or refrigerated in the right temperature. I had high hopes for this place cuz they are in a great spot.

Do not come here if you expect warm service LOL they usually stay in the back until you're done filling out your form and they don't really converse. It's still my favorite poke spot in the area, great portions for the price. If you ask for extra of something they do NOT skimp out. I think other poke spots seem very skimpy once you've been here. A small is honestly more than enough for one person.
