We dined in the 1st time - some of the food was great and well priced (spicy tuna rolls $10) but others were a miss; i thought the yuzu sauce on salmon overpowered the delicate salmon flavor. But the food is good, and i did takeaway a few days later. they were great despite the poor presentation.

Love this place. Omakase is amazing. The sota pop is great as well. But it gets busy so we get there right when they open.

This is my second time here and it did not disappoint either time. The fish is excellent and the rice is made perfectly. Their rolls are fresh and delicious as well. Each bite of everything melted in my mouth

I haven't gone to such a good sushi spot in a long time.Highly recommend this place, come early they don't take reservations. Try not coming with a big group or come knowing you might wait. The Sushi chefs are really nice!

The worst service of my life. Waited two hours for two rolls. Horrible attitude from the servers and staff.

Located in Corona Del Mar this fusion inspired Japanese restaurant serves upscale sushi rolls and more. This visit came in during lunch time and ordered a Baja Roll $20 and miso soup $4. Flavors were good and then it goes downhill.Server was in a rush to get our order in and made me feel uncomfortable the whole time I was eating. Felt like I was dinning at a fast food restaurant and when I was about to eat my last piece of sushi she comes over to try to clear my plate and it was very awkward and unprofessional without asking if I was finished. She insisted on me ordering more food and I said no and then comes back to the table again and insisted I order more. I’m about livid at this point. Was rushed to pay as well.Overall experience was not great and felt angry that I dropped a fair amount of money on a meal that I really wanted to enjoy.

True Japanese Sushi, Sashimi, Chirashi and Poke Bowl without the fake rolls with cream cheese made by the True Japanese Sushi Chef in the heart of Newport Beach's downtown business district. The place is big for a traditional Sushi restaurant, since the rent at Newport Beach must be quite high. The ambiance was old Tokyo feel with wooden chairs and semicircular bar facing the main chef and his associates working behind the glass case with freshly prepared high quality fish and octopus, shrimp etc. the $25 lunch sushi combo came with extra California Rolls and $38 lunch Deluxe Chirashi came with perfect Japanese rice with so many special sashimi that I was in heaven! The seaweed laden miso soup was perfectly delicious and not salty at all. The temperature of miso soup was so great. I loved it.

This is my go to Sushi place, it's close by and pretty good. The sushi chef's are all Japanese (you know it's legit sushi when)....The fish is always fresh and the service is very down to earth and friendly...My fave roll is the cabo roll, and spicy tuna and spicy scallop hand roll, I always get nigiri too, the usual halibut, Tuna, sea bream, black cod (a must), and yellow tail...so delicious!

Maybe an off night? I came in 20 minutes ago and was seated by the window. No one came up to my fiancée and I for 20 minutes.Once I ordered (3 rolls, 2 miso soups and an entree) I waited another 15 minutes just to get my misos and only received them after I reminded the server that I ordered them (he had already dropped off the rolls)Then they forgot to bring out my entree FOR THE DURATION OF THE ENTIRE MEAL so I just sat there and watched her eat. I asked him about my entree at the end of the meal and he had forgotten to get it so it was just sitting in the kitchen the entirety of my dinner.I unfortunately didn’t get an apology or it taken off my bill either. I feel bad because the staff was really nice but Jesus it was one of the worst dining experiences I have had.I gave 2 stars because my fiancés rolls were pretty good. Wish this was handled better.
