So last week when I came I found a small clear plastic in my bowl, prob something slipped in the toppings maybe so I let it go and called them telling them I threw it away in case more plastic would be there. They took my name and number but I guess the person speaking didn't write it down even though she told me she did. Today I called asking if it's ok I come back bc it had been a week almost, for the same order and the girl was so sweet over the phone. I walk in and it's one guy and girl and they were so sweet and helpful. And they gave me one for free and it tasted delicious, better than prior not runny!! Def going back tomorrow bc of the sweet yogurt & service.

Growing up in Southern California, Golden Spoon was all the rage. They had locations everywhere and were the most affordable and delicious option before the Yogurtland craziness took over. I used to frequent the Brea location for years, maybe once a week with my family. They had 15 or so flavors, probably 100 toppings and excellent service but they closed shop about 10 years ago.Golden Spoon has changed. They are franchises, first of all, so your experience will vary from location to location but the experience is pretty similar. And the experience is not so good anymore. This particular location is located in the strip mall next to the Von’s on Magnolia and Ontario. The location is actually a little hard to get to and the parking is the worst in this particular area. The shop is really small and reeks of chlorine every time I go in. They usually only have one person working but half the time they can’t figure out how to get the card reader to work or get a receipt to print. It might not be their fault, but it is discouraging. The shop is also always super hot, like 90 degrees or more. The yogurt starts to melt sitting on the counter. The yogurt is still pretty good, but I’m pretty certain the recipe has changed since I was a kid. It used to taste like real dairy, but now it tastes icier and powdery, much more like yogurtland. This place has only a few flavors and toppings, but I don’t go crazy in here so that is not a huge issue for me.The problem is the price and the experience. The price has skyrocketed in the past few years. Two large yogurts with one topping will cost you just shy of $15. Without toppings, you’ll be spending $5 on a regular and almost $6 on a large. Out of curiosity, I weighed the large and the regular once and the difference was about an ounce for almost a dollar difference. The amount of yogurt you get each time varies and they usually go pretty light altogether. They also don’t give out the loyalty cards anymore and force you to use an iPad loyalty program that uses your phone number and spams you with ads for other restaurants. The turn over has been high here and the last time I went in, I had a free regular size yogurt. I asked to pay the difference and upgrade to a large but the employee said that isn’t possible. However, I was able to do it the week before with another employee. Then they struggle to get the card reader to work and usually swipe my card multiple times and I always get nervous about being charged more than once. They should also be using a chip reader and allow the customer to do the transaction, which is much safer. The yogurt is the redeeming quality of this place. It’s a nice treat every now and then. The labor of dealing with going there and the price have kept me from enjoying it more. I’ve attached two photos to show you what it looks like after the 5 minute drive home.

Friendly staff and the BEST frozen yogurt

Favorite local yogurt spot simple tasty flavors, beats going to a yogurt land and fighting people trying to overpack a bowl for 20 mins any day.

Outside seating is a plus. Great for late evening sweet tooth runs. The regular is huge. The service is friendly and quick.

Was craving frozen yogurt decided to check this place out for the first time .. once we walk in noticed their setup was way different from other frozen places . They serve you , the girl helping was not very friendly . Also the topping are not included so we had to pay for ever single topping which was very unusual since other places let you get as many as you want.. the girl did not explain this at all .. I'm just very disappointed and won't be coming back poor customer service and over priced for frozen yogurt they also had very limited flavors . Waste of money !

Just went again to see pineapple is back! As well as the ac finally being fixed. Unfortunately dine in isn't available but that's obvious not their fault. Always pleasant service from the staff, will be back soon for that coffee flavor :)

Called store at 6:30PM to check if it was open due to covid and the fact it was 4th of july. Person who answered said yes they are open till 9:30PM. Arrived at location at 7:45PM only to find a sign on the door indicating that the hours told to me were accurate, however, door was locked lights were off and no one answered when I attempted to call again. Dont care if they closed early, but don't tell me over the phone your open when in fact your not. Store has lost my business for good, will not bother returning ever again.

I have to say Golden Spoon is my favorite place for frozen yogurt. I do like Menchies a lot too. There is something about Golden Spoon that is so great I like how it's very creamy and tasty! I hope that they always remain in business. I am keeping my fingers crossed! Excellent place!!!
