This place used to be my go to for Sushi but this last time was not as pleasant as I usually had experienced. Sushi was almost room temperature and the taste was like the fish had been sitting for some time. Sadly I will not be going back to what used to be my favorite spot for sushi

I've been coming here for yearssss. It has drastically changed. My family and I were turned away and told to come back in 20 mins, even though there were so many bare tables to sit at. We waited over 20 mins. We came back and was sat down and ordered a drink that was given to us with hardly any ice that quickly melted because it was so suspiciously warm in there. My spouse and I both ordered two rolls each. After an hour we received one roll. Another hour went by and still nothing. I told my spouse to go ahead and eat his food because he was very hungry. No waiter came by within the two hours to check on us. The people who were later sat behind us and in front of us both received their food, and now I was waiting almost 2 and a half hours for mine and the server was still nowhere, and we told the manager what we asked for and he seemed to say okay, took two steps away and then came back and again asked what we wanted and returned without what we asked for. We ended up having to just call the server over when she was spotted and ask for it to go and our server was like "what rolls did you want to go?" I don't believe this. So disappointing and I don't see my family and I returning. 2 and a half hours just waiting is ridiculous and to still be charged full price. Wowwwwwwwwww. My unsolicited ADVICE For the establishment: 1. Sushi Kawa is a very popular sushi spot and has been a favorite for years and it often has a wait time to be seated. With that, having only ONE sushi chef at a time is not a good idea. 2. Air conditioner should be running because the air is thick and moist and it's suspicious when you're ordering raw food. The soy sauce containers are also very dirty on the tables. 3. Hiring servers who want to see the restaurant succeed will make a huge difference. Not everyone can afford to take their family out to enjoy a meal like this and when they do, the experience is important. Having servers ditch you all evening for over 2 hours and forget what you asked for is rude and very irritating. Seems like the establishment is cutting corners to save on money and I sympathize with that since the pandemic hit. But when you open the doors for paying customers, at least try to make it a good experience. The restaurant lacks strongly in this area. This is in no reflection of the food because it's the best, it's really the customer service that's lacking and there's no reason for that.

They wouldn't let me put in a togo order. Told me sorry three times. (Was rude about it) As he didn't want me in the restaurant. Never going there again!

First of all, this place went above and beyond my expectations. The lady answering the phone (Maryann?) was super nice! Had super sushi, sashimi, dynamite and lobster, and they were absolutely delicious and very well presented. Beautiful flowers and cucumber cut arts were amazing. Sushi fresh and melts in your mouth, I am so happy we discovered this jewel today :) one thing I want to apologize for, I grabbed a bunch of wasabi and ginger containers thinking they weren't included, but I found plenty with food inside the package. Will definitely go back!!!

This place is really the best The food is always fresh The staff is fantastic It's a pleasure to dine here I asked the Owners to host my wife's 50th birthday. It was a surprise party And they set everything up fantastic! Go there ... don't hesitate!

Long time patron, first time reviewer. 5 years ago, we moved into the area and craved Sushi. Being out of towners, we didn't know where to start, but Kawa ended being the first & last. Appreciate and will always support local business, I'm so happy to be back in person! PS: My name isn't Ryan, but I'll be damned if the Ryan Wrap wasn't made for me :) Last Visit: 3/2/2022

My husband and I used to like this place. But it seems like the place is in decline and the service is unbelievably bad. Tonight we had the absolute worst service ever! First we got there and the waitress was no where in sight so the owner sat us down, which is fine. We were the only people there besides one table that was there eating before us. Then another table comes in with a party of 5. The waitress sits them at there table and completely serves and handles them. Meanwhile my husband is still waiting to order his beer and my drink. We waited nothin... finally my husband gets up and walks to the bar to order his drink. When the waitress finally acknowledges us he had his beer and im still waiting for water. No apologies from her just what can I get you? I order a water and appetizer and that took a while to get to us too. Meanwhile this waitress is back and forth multiple times for the party of 5, which btw she had to pass our table every time to serve them. Never stops to take our empty plates, or refresh my husbands beer. Finally she gets to us to take our order and still did not ask my husband about his drink and if he would like another. He had to go to the bar again to get a drink. 40 minutes later we were wondering where in the hell our 2 rolls were? The party of 5 was finishing up at this point. There was no apologies even after asking what was going on? the owner never came to even act like he was concerned. The fact that my husband had to order his beer twice at the bar from the owner should have been enough to let the man know we were not being serviced well. To top it all off one of our dishes was underdone. We were visibly upset and no one actually gave a s**** We could not wait for our bill so we could just leave. We will never return!

Worst experience ever. I run a 100m business and am shocked at the customer service and to know they survive like this.I was asked to leave before eating and profiled by the manager and the server. Weird experience and one I’ve never had in my life to date. Horrid people and horrid customer service. I’m shocked. We own several homes in the area and definitely support local but my gosh this was horrible.

I've been coming here for years and the last few visits have been disappointing. My wife and I came in on Friday and there was two open spots and the bar that just got cleaned, we went to go sit down and were told we can't sit there they're full. There was about 8 empty tables available but the lady then said they don't have any open tables and it's going to be a 45 min to hour wait. This is the last time I patronize this joint. If you run a restaurant hire additional staff to utilize your space and not lose customers. The new owners clearly don't know what they're doing.

The worst experience I've ever had. Came in to eat as I have for years here at the bar area and was told to leave. Literally told to leave. I have never been treated worse in my life for patronizing a restaurant ever. I'm in shock. Wow. I run a 100m biz and I can tell you first hand that this place has changed and for the worse. I hope they go out of business for treating a customer this poorly. For my part. Was on phone, went to sit at bar area w my tablet as I do every other Friday. Horrid. Plain horrid

Corona peeps- I'm serious when I say, AVOID THIS PLACE. The owner (a older women) is horrendous and the customer service is absolutely and utterly rubbish. Im sure that this restaurant will be out of business in no time.

We have been coming to Sushi Kawa for years. We haven't been in a long time until we spontaneously went today. We got there right when they opened. The food was good, my all time favorite appetizer is the garlic edamame. Our server Brandon was very on top of things - drinks were never empty, empty plates taken off the table timely, food brought out quickly.
