Best place I have been to in years, and I eat out at least 4 times a week. Amazing food and best service! Eloquent and trendy decor but no stuffy white table cloths. I usually cringe at the meet presentation but don't at this one. Wine selection was very very impressive, 77 pages and something for everyone!!! So good, I am going back tomorrow night.

Celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary. We were seated on the roof top. Ambience was perfect. Service exceptional. My Filet and sides on point. Requested to share a Brandy Alexander. Bar tender obliged as this was not on the menu. It was delivered perfectly. We hope it is added to their specialty beverages. Go there!

This was the first time going to Stake after several attempts . Let me tell you the restaurant did not disappoint. The food , service, ambiance and cocktails were all perfect . Putting it on my radar when I am in town .

It was so so, the waitress brought out the platter of steak choices, $80.00. American waygu eye of rib. I chose what she said was the cinnamon roll of filets, so disappointed it was chewy and lacked flavor. I told her she said she would tell the chef. On a bill of 1,400.00 you would think they would comp something but no! Won't be back!

We were in Coronado for the weekend and decided to celebrate our anniversary at Stakes. The restaurant is lovely. The service was outstanding. It's pricey & worthy of special occasions. My husband ordered a rib eye and loved it. I ordered the lobster/crab cioppino. I admit I'm a bit of a cioppino snob and while it was good, I wasn't in love with it. The sauce is less brothy and more like tomato sauce ...it wasn't what I expected. The portion size is considerable with lots of lobster & crab! Kudos to the staff for outstanding service!

Had Happy Hour meal in the bar . Not our first time.Food was good, service was good , until my husband asked one of the girls working there to change extremely loud and annoying music station which was probably appropriate in one of the downtown night clubs , but certainly not in this bar : majority of the customers were over 50 ( just guessing ). Instead of relaxing and enjoying our meals and drinks we were disturbed by this music . The girl didn't care . something to consider : age of your customers , and , please , turn music down ! Left early .

I highly recommend our server Adam. He was very knowledgeable. I asked him what would be their signature dish if you didn't want steak and his reply was to try the scallop's. I have traveled all over the world and I have to say those were the most tasteful scallops I have ever encountered. The staff is amazing. The only thing I would change would be sitting near the front door was very breezy. I had to continuely ask staff to please shut the front door.

Reservations were honored promptly without delay ( ins't that why we make them?)! Our hostess ticketed my jacket for later retrieval ( nice), and our busboy introduced himself and informed us of whom our server would be. Adam did a stellar job on engaging us and providing thorough recommendations of cuts based on our palettes. The vital display did not disappoint once selections were made, prepped and cooked to order. We were provided a selection of fine cutlery to enjoy our cuts with, which was novel. Our ala carte scalloped potatoes and squash were perfect and favorable. Our cocktails served prompt and worth doubling on more. Adam represented Stake Chophouse both professionally and sincerely. My wife and I thank management for such quality service which was as good as the cuisine itself! Made for a perfect 23 wedding anniversary. We shall return!

The happy hour menu was just "ok". Ordered the filet mignon skewers. What we got appeared to be greasy bits of sirloin. I asked the waitress to share with me how the prawn appetizer was prepared. She said they were "grilled shrimp and very good" . She could've expanded on the description, saying that it comes as the entire prawn, heads on, etc. which would have led me to order something different. The meat was mushy and soft and also greasy. The ambiance is fantastic, however. We sat outside and it was lovely. Great location, exceedingly slow service and subpar food. Would only visit again if it was strictly cocktails in a welcoming setting.

One of the better happy hours in town. Lillet Mignon, or paper plane are favorites depending on your taste of alcohol.

Beautiful, elegant, but comfortable setting with fire tables on patio. Pricey, but god happy hour daily 4-6:30 pm w/ $7 wine, $8 certain cocktails and martinis, and appetizer specials: $3 oysters, $15 mussels, sirloin skewers and flatbread. All very tasty., and really friendly service. Will definitely return!

The restaurant was great but I am not happy with the Open Table reservation system. It showed ther there were no openings till 8:15. We arrived at 7:30 to have a drink. When we got there they said they had very few reservations tonight and they could seat us any time. I recommend calling the restaurant directly for reservations.

Arguably the best steak place in San Diego area. Not only is the quality of the cuts top notch but they cook them to perfection. Highly recommended.

The outdoor seating was lovely - views of Hotel Del, fire pits, heat lamps etc.. The food was good to excellent. I recommend the wagyu cap steak, roast marrow, mushrooms, diver scallops and the blueberry muffin pudding. The cocktails and mocktails were both tasty. The service was a tad uneven with courses coming out at irregular intervals - meaning not every diner received their course at the same time. Still, management was very responsive to that issue and we felt very happy at the end of the dinner. Also, highly recommend taking their car service offer for folks living in Coronado.
