I was in town visiting my daughter that had just arrived back from deployment with the navy. We were walking around Coronado and stumbled upon this place. The wait wasn't bad to get seated & due to light rain we sat inside. Now I don't know the market in this area but it seemed overpriced for what we received. Between the simple waffle with strawberry with whip and my daughter's omelet & drinks our bill was $52 & with $12 for a tip well it shot over $60 being from Orlando I guess it just shocked me a little bit for what an easy breakfast here cost is all. I'm used to this being no more than $20-25 bucks. But hey most of u will just say well welcome to California Food was great A+ Service was decent C+ seemed like most were in highschool and this was just a weekend job for them. Way over priced for what u get imo

Horrible service, horrible looking and tasting food. I've had better food from a can. Taco Bell is much better!!!

We stopped in to grab some Danish/muffins prior to hitting the road. Service was friendly. The Danish were okay, not as light/fresh tasting as I would expect from this sort of place. We took a couple of muffins for the road/home to Arizona. They were dry and fell apart once the paper was removed. Appears their breakfast is good from the other reviews but we were not impressed with the baked goods.

It is the first time I was in Coronado. My mom and I were looking for a place to have breakfast. We arrived at this restaurant, we ordered some green enchiladas and they were really delicious, a very generous portion. The service was excellent, all the girls in the restaurant were very friendly and pleasant.I almost don't like bread, obviously I love it. We ordered some Muffins, one chocolate and one almond, both delicious and also a puff pastry bread with chocolate inside, equally delicious.I almost forgot, the coffee was also delicious.

Went here for brunch on our first day to Coronado. The lady at the counter was pleasant. Food took a little long to arrive but I guess that means it’s freshly prepared. We ordered the Turkey Club Sandwich, Granola Bowl which came with a Muffin and Chicken tenders with Fries. The coffee was okay.No toilets in the restaurant, had to use Starbucks’ next door.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu.

So happy to stumble upon this spot! Huge portions (mimosas and chicken salad sandwich). My husband and I split the sandwich and we were thoroughly satisfied. The mimosas came out in huge wine glasses too. That's what I'm talking about! I will want to come back here if I'm ever in Coronado again. Besos!

Cute place but horrible service and food is mediocre. Rude behind the counter and lazy workers; having personal conversations and ignoring customers.

I didn't get any this time, but the muffins are exceptional and looked great again today! Service, not so great. I stopped in around 8:45 am; restaurant was not busy. (One customer on outside patio, two inside.) Ordered bagel and lox and a coffee at counter. Gave 20% tip on credit card anticipating good service. Bagel and lox plate was great - delicious and fresh bagel, generous portion of salmon, lettuce, tomato and onion to make sandwich. Service was non-existent. Serve your own coffee (not a big deal.) Food dropped at table, no utensils, was not asked if wanted anything/water, no check up after served food to see if I need anything (more cream cheese for bagel, utensils, water). Walked inside to get utensils. When I later asked server for water, she pointed to the counter inside. Another trip for me. Sigh. Will hold the tip until after service the next time...

The food here was great! Unfortunately the service was so bad my husband said we probably will never be back. The lady behind the counter was not helpful, didn't smile at all, and was somewhat rude. We got the same energy when she delivered the food. It seemed this poor customer service continued with other costumers. I really hope to come back and have a better experience. However, we won't be back again if the workers have this same poor attitude.

My favorites here are the mole enchiladas and the vegetable omelet with chorizo. Authentic Mexican cuisine. I love their croissants as well. As for ambiance, it is what you would expect from a busy cafe. Sit outside and people watch.

The environment is adorable and classy. Super fast service and soooo friendly and helpful too. I got the california omelette and it's the best omelette I've ever had. Matcha latte tastes authentic too.

What an absolute GEM . This is now my favorite breakfast spot. Adorable ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating, lightning fast service, absolutely decadently delicious food--this cafe has it all! It's great portions as well, I'd highly recommend splitting a savory breakfast entree and ordering pastries like we did so you can try it all. The staff is as kind as they are efficient as well. Consider me a Villa Nueva fan.

Step into Villa Nueva Bakery and prepare to be wowed! They've mastered the art of coffee-making, crafting liquid gold that'll jolt your taste buds awake. Salads so amazing, they could turn a salad skeptic into a leafy green enthusiast. And let's talk about sandwiches – they're like edible masterpieces, bursting with flavors that'll have your taste buds doing the conga. But here's the plot twist – just as you're savoring every bite and relishing the aromatic coffee, you suddenly realize there's something missing. You look around in vain for the elusive bathroom. Cue dramatic music! Yep, that's the curveball, folks. Ding, ding, ding – one star off for the bathroom disappearing act!Nevertheless, the service is as friendly as a pack of puppies, making you feel like part of the bakery's family. So, while you might need to master the art of bladder control during your visit, Villa Nueva Bakery remains a top-notch spot for a taste bud fiesta and a bathroom break hunt! ?☕
