I have eaten at this El Pollo Loco for decades, and it has always been great. Wilson, Reyna, Silvia, Tina, Juan...they have an outstanding staff that cares about the customer experience. The bone-in chicken, the burritos, the special item (birria/carnitas/...), the tostadas, the salads, the sides, and the chicken tortillas soup are all consistently fresh, hot (well, not the salads), and delicious.

Just passing thru the area and decided to stop at this location since it's easy access off freeway. Best El Pollo I have been to yet! Food was fresh and hot ! Service with a smile and thank you , not to mention quick ! Ambiance was clean , bathrooms in excellent condition ! Easy to get in and out while towing a trailer !

Everything was fine except the price. The 3 tacos al carbon meal combo is $5.99 at the 5 or 6 other Pollo Loco restaurants I've been to, but it was $7.49 here. I wouldn't have minded a slight increase, I understand it's a costly Harbor Blvd property in Costa Mesa, but $1.50 is a 25% increase. I didn't price the other items there, but assuming everything is 25% higher, it might make sense to drive to another location. I know that I won't be returning there.

Everything was good here, except that they have closed their salsa bar with the excuse of CoViD-19. CoViD is over! Bring it back!! Rubio's has it. It seems that El Pollo Loco is still using CoViD as an excuse to offer less to customers. Very sad.
