I've tried a few things from other J.sweets. However this is the first time I tried a mochi cream, specifically from this location. This place has a lot of different sweets. They have them all set out so you know how they look. So I'd say organized, and you're aware of what you'll be getting with whatever treat you get. The sweets look so beautifully presented, and from my experiences from other location, the quality has never disappointed. I went to get mochi creams twice at this location. The first time I tried the strawberry shortcake, double mango, green tea and black sesame. My top favorite flavors are strawberry shortcake and double mango. Strawberry shortcake had a whip cream blended with cake pieces, and between that a strawberry puree inside a pink mochi. It was light, and full of flavor. it tasted like I as eating a strawberry shortcake. The double mango didn't used an artifical flavored mango. The cream was mango flavored, with a mango puree inside the cream. I didn't like the green tea and black sesame. Both had mung been inside. Green tea was covered in matcha powder and had green tea flavored mung bean and cream. I'm not a fan of mung bean. The black sesame was the same, it had a black sesame mung bean flavor with cream. I wouldn't get these. I didn't pay attention to the service the first time, but I did the second time. The ladies working are very sweet and attentive. They smiled the whole time, and I appreciate a smile when it comes to customer service. I got the banana chocolate and peach yogurt. Both also had mung bean, but the chocolate flavored made the mung bean in he mochi bearable. I believe the mung bean was banana flavor, and the cream was chocolate cream. There were also chocolate chips. Then the mochi was rolled in cocoa. The peach tasted like medicine. The peach flavoring was not good. Overall I'd say get the strawberry and mango which apparently, were both top sellers there. The banana chocolate is descent as well. So I'd go back for these three for sure!

Lots of Japanese chocolate and cookies gift sets. A bit pricey but taste so yummy. We buy a bunch whenever we stop by mitsuwa market. The people working there are very helpful and offer to gift wrap your items.

One of my good friend introduced Mochi Creams to me awhile back and I cannot lie, they are a bit addicting! Don't say I didn't warn you. If you like Mochi Ice Cream, you'll like these as well. I prefer these over the ice cream since they are so pillowy & decadent. Lightly sweetened and just so good. If you are a fan of Royce' Chocolates, you will love that they have a case full of them. These chocolates are like BUTTER, just melts in your mouth and not too sweet. If you haven't tried any of these treats, please do yourself a favor and get some during the holidays...you'll thank me later. Needed to grab a few gift sets for a dinner party. These make the best gifts to share. Everyone always goes crazy for them when we bring them. There are always a ton of flavors to choose, but my fave flavors are below: Strawberry Shortcake - $2.60 Chocolate Red Bean Peach Yoghurt Black Sesame - Personal FAVE Green Tea - Personal FAVE NOTE: Prices are per each flavor. Gift Sets available: Box of 6 $18.20 / Box of 12 $33.40 (for every 12 pcs Gift Box, you get 1 free Mochi Cream - Green Tea Flavor). LOCATION - Inside the Mitsuwa Marketplace just on the right side when you enter the marketplace (on the corner) before you make your way to the food court. CUSTOMER SERVICE - The ladies there are always friendly and so helpful. DESSERT SELECTION - Lots to choose from at this location. They carry assorted Japanese Chocolates (different price point) and Cookies/Crackers and tons of Gift Sets. Mochi Creams are always available but some flavors might sell out. PRICE - On the pricey side but these are really good and worth every penny IMO. These definitely make for a nice gift to any dinner party or occasions. VERDICT - Though they are on the pricey side, they are well worth it. You will love them too and be just as addicted as I am. I have warned you all...this is like entering a Black Hole, there's no turning back.

Their mochi cream is imported from Japan. My favorites are green tea, double mango, and caramel pudding. There used to be a bigger variety of flavors. Customer service is great and friendly. The lady nicely packaged my mochi cream desserts into a clear bag.

8/1/2022 Second time trying Mochi Cream's mochi. Bought these yesterday. As soon as you purchase the mochi, you will see they are semi-frozen. So trying to bite into it, you will be eating a mochi ice cream. BUT the best way to eat it is when it's completely thawed out in the refrigerator. All the mochi textures were soft and pillowy. You get that gluttonous rice texture as you eat. It was a lovely texture with the cream fillings inside. Raspberry Millefeuille In combination of the raspberry flavor and this creamy nutty flavor that immediately reminded me of nut butters. You immediately felt like you were taking a bite out of a PB&J. As you chew, you get crispy millefeuille in every bite. I liked the contrast in texture with soft and crunchy. Strawberry Shortcake. **Favorite** This tastes like Strawberry Fruit Cake or Strawberry Cream Cake from Asian bakeries. And it's in mochi form! Matcha Straight up Sencha Matcha flavor. The center had Sencha Matcha as well, although there is a mix of cream too. Mainly matcha flavor. Tasted like you're drinking green tea out of a cup. Caramel Pudding Tastes like flan. Not overly sweet. If you wanna try a flan mochi, this is it. Double Mango **Second Favorite** This was delicious as well. If you're looking for fruity flavor. This is it! Yes, it's like those Asian fruit ice creams sold in Asian stores. You get that creamy fruit flavor. The filling is so creamy! Loved it! Basically it's a milky mango ice cream mochi. Yes, the fake flavor kind, but still good! Tried these flavors a few days prior. No pics. Sakura Could barely taste the sakura! Barely! Maybe because I ate it right after my purchase and it was semi-frozen. A vague berry-like cream flavor, yet it didn't really taste of anything. Black Sesame This tasted exactly like that! Good flavors black sesame flavors coming through. A lot less creamier filling than the other mochis.

I was at Mitsuwa Marketplace in Costa Mesa a couple weeks ago. Whenever I'm at any Mitsuwa, my go-to are Santouka Ramen and J.sweets if they exist because not all Mitsuwa have them (San Gabriel location doesn't have the restaurants and shops which is a bummer because I live closest to SG). I've been to Mitsuwa in Torrance so I thought I try their other locations. Anyway, this review is on J.sweets so let's get back to it... I've at least tried 19 of their mochi flavors... my 4 favorite mochis are below. They are my go-to. There are a few honorable ones, but I won't mention them here. =) 1. Raspberry Mille-Feuille (my #1 fav!... just delightful and yummy!) 2. Apple Pie (my #2 fav!... it must be the crunch!) 3. Double Mango (my #3 fav!... a lovely mango... very tasty!) 4. Sakura (my #4 fav!... a nice cherry flavor!) Each mochi is about $2.20 - $2.30. I usually buy 8 of each every time... so do the math LOL. I'm walking out with about $70+ of mochi LOL. By the way, they do come frozen so make sure you place them in the freezer after you get home. You may leave a few out to defrost for dessert. =) Staff was very friendly and service was excellent. Mitsuwa parking was a little tight, but it could be better. Give J.sweets a try at any of their locations either Costa Mesa (medium size store), Irvine (very small store and they don't carry my #1 fav... bummer!), or Torrance (biggest store compared to the other two). Happy Mochi'ing!

Inside the Mitsuwa Market area before you get to the food court. Can't miss the colorful display of desserts if you go straight through the front door. They have a good selection of Mochi Cream from Japan which has more variety than any other mochi ice cream spot and the flavors of both the mochi and the ice cream are excellent compliments to each other.

Little sweets shop in the Mitsuwa Marketplace. If you want something a little nicer, a bit more flavorful than a Whitman sampler, definitely a place to visit. Makes an exceptional gift idea, because the selection is delectable and exotic, and packaged with such elegance. A bit expensive, but you're not getting just a snickers bar or malt balls. Japanese delicacies to tickle the palette, and heighten the libido. Well, that's what they say. (Yes, I may be "they" but what's that got to do with anything?) I highly recommend giving this place a try, for yourself, or as a present. Look at it this way, you give someone a gift of Japanese chocolates instead of a Whitman Sampler, you're going to gain a reputation as a cultured gourmet. It's win-win for everyone!!! We usually get our daughter's teacher a gift for Teacher Appreciation Day from here. I'm not sure who we'd send it to this year. Zoom? Seesaw? ST Math? Reading Eggs? Should be me, actually! Not only do I work a full 8 hour day, my 7 yo is there with me every day, and I'm the one who has to help her with everything! Think teachers have made themselves non-essential. What is essential is mochi; a Japanese rice cake. We come here mostly for the mochi: about two dozen flavors to choose from. My favorite by far is the black sesame. As ambrosial as the sesame buns at Din Tai Fung, just smaller. We've been known to make our own mochicuterie board by getting one of every flavor, or sometimes we just get a six pack. Because we're already fat enough! The reviewer is in no way associated with the business being advertised. He has, to his knowledge, never dated any of the woman who work there. And if perchance he actually did, he would like to apologize for forgetting her name, losing her number, and not calling her the next day. To make amends, pick out some chocolate for yourself and charge it to his account. And, um, you do get an employee discount, right?

This sweet shop is inside the Mitsuma marketplace. When you are done stuffing your belly @ the food court, save room for dessert. They have fine chocolates, delicious wafers, lots of Japanese sweets to variety of Mochi. I am not sure if my tastebuds changed or just waited too long to get my Mochi fix but they are not as delicious as I remember. It's still good but it's the texture of their Mochi is not as chewy and smooth. My favorite is their cafe au lait and red bean. Cafe au lait Mochi has wonderful coffee cream that just heavenly. Red bean Mochi always has a place in my heart since I grew up eating red bean sweets and desserts. Their red bean Mochi has a wonderful cream and red bean layer making it deliciously creamy and wonderful. The cream actually play up the red bean paste. It's a perfect combination married together with their mochi. They used to give out samples of their sweet treats when you buy something. They didn't this time.

A wide selection of high quality Japanese sweets. The mochi cream are worth trying for their combination of mochi (rice paste) and ice cream. Royce chocolates are delicate and delicious. And seasonal items like the sakura jellies are worth a taste. The raison cookies and biscuits are worth giving as a unique gift as are the other traditional sweets.
