Love Mastro's. Have been going to this location for many years. It's a much quieter location than the Ocean Club in NPB, but still the same great quality. Only critique is that they tend to not scale well during busy nights like Valentine's Day and Mother's Day - would recommend considering another choice on those days. Otherwise, you'll get great service and food here!

Really disappointing this time around. Previous dining experiences were a solid 5 stars. Was there in a private room with pre-fixed menu. Food was excellent as always. However, service was truly lacking. My colleague had to ask 3 times to refill his water and non-alcoholic beverage. Waiters, while removing plates, dripped food and sauce on the patrons. Really disappointed as I expect top notch service to accompany food in this type of restaurant.

Celebrated my kids birthday's since this is their favorite restaurant. When we walked in hosts were rude and made us feel like we were bothering them. We came up to the host stand and weren't greeted and ignored. (There wasn't any guest around the area besides hosts) When my daughter gave her the name of out reservation, 2 of the host where discussing who's turn it was to seat. When 3rd host came they had her sit us. The host rolled her eyes while the other 2 were smirking and laughing. I asked if there was a problem and she said she's the only one seating guests. We thought that shouldn't be brought up to us but it was. Was a busy evening, the music was pretty load due to how load it was, in guessing. Jason was our server and Marcelo seemed to be his runner. We ordered and don't know if the LA location uses the same vendors as Costa Mesa but quality wasn't there. Both my kids go to is chicken Caesar salad. Chicken was dry and different compared to LA. LA location chicken is breaded and even the presentation is different. Not to mention there was a long hair in her salad. My daughter pulled it out her mouth and hair was in wrapped in the chicken. We let Jason and Marcelo know about it. Jason asked if we wanted a replacement, but politely declined. I had the dry age rib eye and my husband had 12 oz filet. We both didn't eat the steak. It was bland no flavor and that's even adding truffle butter. I know the rib eye has a lot of marbling but hard to eat with all the gristle. My husband well done filet was medium rare and not well done. The one good thing was cram of corn. The Mac and cheese had a unique flavor and scallops potatoes tasted like box potatoes. We didn't finish our food or took it to go. It's was pretty bad all around. We didn't complain of our steaks because we were scared at this point they'd so something since there was a long hair in my daughters chicken. Our table was filled of food that wasn't pleasant. Jason and Marcelo did a good job working as a team and both very kind. Unfortunately quality and events that took place, I wouldn't recommend this location. You do pay a good amount of money for quality but when it's the opposite it's not easy to suggest. The LA location is worth the drive. The food in LA is always consistent and the service is on point as you walk in. I would definitely coach your hosts on proper behaviors and have kitchen double check their work and take pride on what goes on the table. What was supposed to be a birthday celebration, turn to be the opposite. We just wished just as the service Macelo and Jason provided us, the food matched.

Female waitress that served us was very rude. Yeah we could’ve chose another place to enjoy our meal but this place sucks. I asked for my steak to be medium well it came out medium well on one side burnt on the other.

It’s Mastros. Come with extremely high expectations and plenty of room on your credit card. If you’re not ordering a steak, go elsewhere. The service is impeccable. The wine selection is too. The atmosphere is dimly lit and romantic. This is a fancy business dinner or special occasion type place. Must have a reservation.

The portions at this place are huge. The service is great. We had a really fun waitress. She was so sweet. We sat in a really nice and private area.

We went to Mastro's steakhouse in Costa Mesa for Valentine's Day and it was very good but not great. The food was excellent and so was the service, however the relatively open layout of the place and small waiting area left a lot to be desired. The ribeye was outstanding and came highly recommended and did not disappoint as it was juicy and well seasoned and the sides were equally fantastic and made great leftovers :) However, how the restaurant was set up made it difficult to wait for a table without inconveniencing the servers and host staff trying to do their job. There was little seating up front so most people waiting had to wait in between two dining areas were servers were constantly trying to maneuver around us with some very hot plates. It is my sincere hope that consideration is made to removing a few tables to allow more space for people to wait (especially in the event of inclement weather or overbooking guests)

A friend recently celebrated his birthday at Mastros and it was AHHHMAZING! We had steak and it was perfectly cooked. There was someone singing and it was very delightful. They have some amazing espresso martinis. Our server was Ashley and Erin and they were incredible. The went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Will definitely be going back soon!

Indescribable night, amazing service, spectacular dishes and music to dance to. Please don't mind the cost of your bill. Just have a great time and believe me, you will. I live in Simi Valley and I can easily go to the one in Malibu. Something about my experiences with my wife and family here makes us connect more. It's like when the stars align or better yet when our particles, molecules and atoms rapidly get excited. It becomes perfect. A night you don't want to end. Lobster bisque - you have to get it!!! No words to describe! Try them all! The butter cake at the end, wow! I feel like my taste buds were in a happy place. Every time we go we asked for a table near the piano. Love the live music and combined with great vocals was always a pleasure. All your senses will be awaken. Life is too short. Have a wonderful time! We sure did!

Great place to have dinner ?. Services were outstanding and would definitely recommend it. The food was good, I did expect a bit more BUT the atmosphere and service was OUTSTANDING! I would go back but only about once a year.

My husband surprised me with a date night for my birthday because he knows how much I love the butter cake. Mastro's has always been a great experience for me and it was my husband's first time so I was excited for him. The butter cake didn't disappoint, unfortunately our service was very bad. Our server wasn't checking on us as often as she should've. The table next to us had a server that I was we had. Friendly attentive and cared about their dinning experience, unlike our server. My husband's steak wasn't what he expected to receive which was very disappointing. We ordered the butter cake to finish our night, it came with what we thought was a complimentary cheesecake but they charged us for it. We already fed up and wanted to head home so we asked for it to be boxed. That took another 10-15min. It was very disappointing for my husband to experience that kind of service when I have always hyped how much I love going to Mastro's.

Terrible experience. We used to go to the original Mastros in Beverly Hills all the time. Mastros has gone way downhill since. I'm all for the masses being able to go to restaurants but this was ridiculous. The class of people at this Mastros was really low. You had people dressed inappropriately with gallons of perfume on. We couldn't even taste our food because the cheap perfume stench was overbearing the whole restaurant. Our waiter was indifferent and barely spoke to us. The food has also gone downhill in a big way since they were bought out by a large corporation.
