This place has the best ramen I have ever had. I am so sad they are closed. I want my last meal to be the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen.

PLEASE RE OPEN!! I have been trying lots of ramen places since Mendoki closed down but nothing can compare to Mendoki's standard , espicially the egg. I used to get to ramen with chasu bowl and a huge dish of bamboo and egg on the side Whenever I sit down and eat, its the only time I feel at peace with myself and the present. Their ramen is Zen!! Me and my friends used to come here almost everyday. I was planning to go on ghe first day they plan to re-open. Just read the latest review knowing that they're permanently closed. Now I'm dying inside :(((

It looks like they are permanently closed - at this current space, at least. I went by today - Aug 4 - hoping that it'd be their first day open (since it's the first open day - a Wednesday - after Aug 1). And saw that the seating area and kitchen is completely empty as mentioned before in the Questions area. I found out that they are co-owned by Hakata Ikkousha (on Bristol). The chef that was responsible for Mendoki is now at Hakata Ikkousha making gyoza. Unfortunately, some of the dishes that were available at Mendoki, such as the tsukemen, soba, or jiro style, are not available at this other location. Apparently, the lease renewal was an issue at the plaza and they are seeking another site for a *possible* re-opening in the future.

Please Reopen! I don't write reviews a lot, but hopefully you guys see this. One of my top top favorite ramen and tsukemen places! Please reopen soon. I can only eat about 1 bowl but i will buy 2 to support you guys, will come often even if I get fat, that's a promise!

Most authentic tsukemen you can find this side of Santa ana. Mendokis ramen is the kind of ramen that can and certainly may just change your life forever. Best wishes naoki san.

The most delicious ramen I have ever before in U.S.I recommend to try Zeero Ramen also Special Tsukemen. Chef Akimoto who created always amazing taste ramen.I love these menu all.Hopefully you will reopen as soon as possible!

Amazing Tsukamen and Spicy Ramen! We are awaiting your return! Mendoki really knows their stuff. This place is a hole in the wall mom and pop kinda of shop. Tasty food, great prices, friendly staff and great customer service. We've gone all the way to LA for Tsukamen and it just doesn't compare. Mendoki will always be the best!

Dining in here every time I visit South Coast Plaza. Their Tsukemen (soup out noodle) is amazing. Never tasted elsewhere before, would definitely surprise you. While ordering, customers are able to choose the hardness of the noodle too. Very good service and environment here.
