We had a somewhat odd experience here...we booked a brunch reservation on a day where we were wedding dress shopping as a family, and we were the only three people in the restaurant for the entire time we were there. The menu didn't match what was online and had far less choices than I expected, so we were disappointed. It just made for a very awkward brunch when it was soooo quiet, not even any music, and the service was still very slow for only having one table. It's an expensive brunch for decent food, but nothing too special in my opinion. We got a salmon bowl, a turkey sandwich, and then a half sandwich with a cup of soup (lobster bisque). The salmon bowl was by far the best, followed by the soup, but I wouldn't return to Silver Trumpet for brunch. Maybe it's better for dinner or on a weekend?

Went yesterday for an early dinner before we saw the Michael Jackson musical. My cousin was running late so my Aunt and I started and had the best experience! Elizabeth and the manager on duty were so accommodating, helpful and lovely for our special evening. The food was delish! Thank you and can't wait to return!

I hate to write a bad review, but here I am, just to warn those who may face this experience or have experienced this before. Today, my friend and I, both who serve the public (me being a higher ed educator and my friend as a nurse), decided to relax and dine in at this place in the early evening. While we do give one golden star for this place's aesthetic which aligns well with the restaurant name, the orchestration of this place came off chaotic in the beginning; and not in a positively creative way. The tension already struck us the first few steps we took to the restaurant, which does not warrant any additional stars. The woman had a bit of a grimace upon seeing us; although we can only speculate the cause (perhaps it's our ethnicity, perhaps we didn't dress formally enough, or maybe, she was having a bad day, etc.), we don't know for sure. We gave the benefit of doubt to her for a bit as she told us no indoor seating was available but outdoor seating was okay. We sat near the fireplace. We were aware of Happy Hour, which, on the website, states that it starts at 4pm and ends at 6pm. Suspiciously, she claimed that Happy Hour ended at 5pm (it was 4:45pm, 5 minutes before 5). She told us we can wait for Happy Hour at 9pm instead; since we aren't staying at the hotel. At this point, we were no longer comfortable dining here and we left. To discriminate against customers dining in for their looks is one thing, but it's another thing when Happy Hour allegedly ending at 5pm does not line up with the details on the website. Hopefully, it's not just us that encounters this experience! Please train your staff members to at least be in line with the information provided on your official website if they are trained to turn away potential customers based on their looks!

Had a wonderful Sunday brunch before going to the theatre. Can't beat the location as we parked, easy walk to the restaurant and easy walk to the theatre. Service and food were terrific. Highly recommend it.

James is your finest asset! We LOVE him!! It's tough getting a restaurant literally full of people out before showtime. Service is tough and things get lost. But James always breaks through to make sure everything's in order. Thank you Silver Trumpet!

The proximity near Segerstrom's Center for the Arts is the only reason I frequent the restaurant . The noise level is uncomfortably loud. The menu doesn't offer enough variety . Finally, the cost is comparible to Maestro's and other restaurants that offer a better fine dining experience.

We came here prior to going to the theater. I was not aware this was a restaurant in a hotel and likely would not have booked if I knew. That would have been a huge mistake. The Silver Trumpet was fantastic. The restaurant was beautiful. The cocktails were very unique. The food was unbelievable. At the table we ordered the seafood special, lamb and branzino. Each meal was very very good. The service was AMAZING. Rebecca served us and had a perfect balance of being hospitable and friendly but not staying too long. She kept us on track to ensure we got to the theater on time and was great with food recommendations. I could not recommend this restaurant anymore.

It's my second time here. Excellent food and service! I had the lobster bisque and steak, everything was delicious and well prepared. The staff was attentive and our server made suggestions we used. Free parking is very convenient. Will be back next time I am in Costa Mesa.

We held our mom's 70th birthday party in Silver Trumpet in Costa Mesa and it was wonderful. The food is delicious but more importantly, the staff was truly exceptional!!! From the moment we arrived prior to the time of the event to set up a few personal touches, the waitstaff was present, introduced themselves, and immediately began asking us what we needed. The staff is wonderful, a joy to work with, and adapted to anything that was requested. Two gentlemen (sorry, I forget their names) were on top of everything. If your beverage got low, another appeared. If someone asked for more of something, it appeared. The service was perfect and I learned that a guest asked for a special entree' since they had dietary restrictions and were immediately provided with exactly what they wanted. This was an event of 30 people and for the Silver Trumpet staff to go above and beyond as they did was extraordinary! They left everyone at the event very impressed and the birthday girl was delighted! Thank you so much for an amazing afternoon and a lifelong memory!

We had a great dinner there before a show at segerstrom. The outside patio was lovely and warm next to the fire pit. The scallops were amazing! Perfect caramelization. Our server was kind and really good. The manager for the evening made sure we had a great dinner and helped us get to segerstrom. Perfect date night--we had a really special experience.Dietary restrictions: I’m gluten free

We always go to the Silver Trumpet for dinner before a Segerstom performance. It is convenient located with a short walk to the theater. They offer validated parking which is a plus. We thoroughly enjoyed the Price Fix 3 course dinner offerings for Restaurant Week. We ordered the mushroom ravioli, short ribs and sorbet. They were all so delicious and the price was so affordable for such a wonderful meal. Our server was attentive l, professional and friendly. She knew the menu well and gave EHS good suggestions.
