Don’t waste your time coming here. Terrible management and customer service. Staff are not informed of menu items. I was given something different than what was described to me by the server, spoke to the manager, he didn’t care, he would not adjust or do anything to rectify the situation. He brushed me off and basically said it is what it is, eat it or don’t. Definitely will NEVER come back here. Plenty of other great sushi places in the area.

It was time to try a new sushi place. We searched yelp and came across Tamaki. Menu looked good. Let's go!Good: The rice was excellent. So many sushi places have mediocre rice. Not here. Also, everything seemed relatively fresh.Bad: Just about everything we ordered was bland. The spicy tuna and spicy albacore had very little flavor (greatspicy tuna has sriracha and chile sesame oil). There was WAY too much spicy tuna/albacore in the rolls we ordered. And the texture like fish paste. Yuck!Philadelphia roll...bland. Fried onions...no salt. Salmon Skin Handroll...fresh ingredients, but none of the flavors stood out. And they only have Shokikubai nigori. It's like the bud light of the unfiltered sake world.

I loved these place! I think I liked the experience the most because of the pricing and ambiance. It's a really neat vibe where you can make it a casual outing or dress up -- your choice. The sushi itself was pretty good. I wouldn't compare it to the most authentic sushi I've had but it was pretty tasty. They have an all you can eat special that I would love to try next time. The service again was okay. I think we had a new server who was learning about the sushi itself and what all came in the rolls served but if you can look past that, it was all in all a nice time. I'd come back for another visit!

Such a fresh and affordable sushi spot!!We got the 5 combo hand roll and it had such a good variety of fish but the stars of the shows are the sashimi and sushi platter!! For appetizers, their edamame had the best sauce on top and their mussels were baked so nicely and not overpowered with sauce like many other sushi places! All in all such a fresh sushi spot with affordable prices especially in this economy LOL

My friend and I decided to drop by for Takumi Sushi's happy hour and was blown away!Food: 5/5+ Snow Roll+ Spicy Tuna Crispy+ Lemon Salmon RollSushi lovers, I know sometimes the craving for sushi often times veers this delicate balance of getting fresh fish versus hurting your wallet, but look no further: Takumi Sushi is an establishment that meets the best of both perspectives, having affordable priced sushi that is still flavorful, yummy, and refreshing.During our stay, we sampled 2 happy hour plates, which had slightly smaller portions at half the price. Out of the two, the Spicy Tuna Crispy was the biggest winner, with the crunchy of the rich base perfectly complementing the spicy tuna drizzled with a savory spicy mayo sauce and jalapeño. And I don't consider myself the best spicy tuna fan but it was that good, I would order it again. The Snow Crab was just as yummy with baked white fish that smoothly blended with the rich cream cheese filling. The Lemon Salmon was fresh and melted in your mouth, pairing seamlessly with a ponzu sauce you can ask the waiter for.Needless to say, my friend and I were FULL and amazed that our bill was only $20 each (including tax).Service: 4/5Parking was easy and tables were clean, with hardly any wait. We went during happy hour so the place wasn't too busy; however, I think service could be improved because I had to flag my waiter several times for the check. They take split checks.A great place in Costa Mesa if you are craving sushi!

We went during happy hour & didn't realize it, which was a nice surprise. We got 5 rolls, 2 appetizers, one drink & a beer for $100 or so. It was a great price. Amazing and fresh. Forgot to take pictures was more about spending time with my husband & son. Highly recommend.
