We had an outstanding dinner there. We ordered the seafood sampler and a steak. They changed the mix for bloody Mary's which is way too salty, but the coffee martinee is outstanding. I would like the bread to be a little crispier, but salads and potatoes never disappoint. Definitely a little expensive, but doesn't stop us from going back. The split meal is the way to go as cost $12 and we still bring home food. It does get a little noisy.Parking: Open parking but always available. If get there and no spots, may want to look to someplace else or enjoy some nice drinks at the bar while you wait.

I've been to a few of their locations, but this one the most.Update April 2024: delicious as always. Prices are up, like everywhere, but at least it feels worth it. Always love this place, family's been coming here for years and now I come with my husband and our kids. They have something for everyone... Unless you're vegan then a steakhouse may not be the right place to come to eat but they do have a bar and fun decor so there's that?!

This place is amazing! It's a little pricey but worth it. You get so much food!!! I got the steak and lobster meal, and the lobster was huge! We had to wait about 40 minutes but it was a Saturday so that's expected. Plus the waiting area is pretty interesting.Kid-friendliness: They have 2 prepaid arcade games for the kids during their wait.
North woods Inn is a place to go if you like a dark romantic western type atmosphere! It's a great place to celebrate any special occasion!. There might be a good 10 to 20min. Wait time because of the amount of people that dine there! It's packed and it all depends on the amount of people in your party.. if there's only 2 you will be seated in 10 min. On the outside there a nice western type looking outdoor wait area the little ones can run around in. And the atmosphere is like a giant size cabin!! On the inside it's all dark and lighted by little lanterns all around thus. Providing a romantic setting! As you wait.. there are huge barrels full of peanuts for guest to serve themselves and eat while waiting. And a nice bar on the right as well!! The host and servers are all friendly . Along with your meal you are served more peanuts ant then this delicious tasting salad that comes with delicious tasting garlic type toast. Just as an appetizers before your main meal which includes a huge hot baked potato with your desires toppings along with a good portion of tasty rice pilaf! It is a little pricy but for the amount of food you receive abd for the flavors you will love it's well worth it. And it's similar prices as almost any steakhouse. But for the amount of food you get and it's quality of taste you will surely enjoy it!! The amount of people who dine in will speak for itself!! And on birthdays the birthday guest receives a nice desert treat. So recommend this place just for a nice night out or for any special occasion.!!! Also for those who live seafood they offer that as well.Dietary restrictions: They offer a salad and they offer fire grilled chicken.Parking: The restraunt is surrounded by parking spaces all around that allows close access to the entrance so parking is available.Kid-friendliness: They offer a kids mennue and dessert!! And in the indoor waiting area they have tabletop video games and a nice circular chimmany with a cute little waterfall. North Woods Inn was the first restaurant we visited when we arrived to CA from Florida, in 1982. Living in Covina, we visited at least once a month. We now live in the high desert, and aren't able to treat ourselves there as often. We took our parents (Age 93) in mid-December. Three of our party ordered steaks. All of our steaks were "under". The chef got the cross-hatch right on one side, but over-cooked that side of the steak. The meat was served with the cross-hatch facing down, perhaps to hide the overcooked area? Who knows. It's not Sizzler. We paid a significant amount of money for these meals. Waited a while for the food. Did not want to send it back as it would be wasteful (there's no remedy for overcooked on one side, raw-undercooked on the other except for remake), and we'd be waiting again. Visited again in February and March 2024. Weekday, lunch time. We realized they don't have their 'A' Team at this time. Philly Steak was awful- inedible. Husband it tasted like "boiled meat" served on a hot dog bun. The women's restroom at both visits was filthy. The walls of the stalls are very dirty, trash on the floor when you walk in. Not near the trash can. One of the stalls does not latch. Out of toilet tissue. Still the delicious salads and cheese bread. But very sad to see the iconic Clearmann's North Woods Inn's standards being compromised.
