Went in on a Saturday morning for breakfast. It was busy so we waited almost an hour. Unfortunately there were no benches for people to sit. Most patrons were standing or sat on the sidewalk. Finally made it inside,well to the patio. It was a little uncomfortable eating in front of people who were waiting. It was a bit too chaotic for my blood.Maybe too much going on. The service was good though. The food comes out very fast. Although I'm not a big fan of super hot plates. Makes you wonder. I ordered eggs and cactus which were very bland. Lacked flavor and salt. Also tried their cheese enchiladas. Those were better. We did enjoy their chiles toritos. Filled with cheese and shrimp. My cafe de olla was very sweet.The prices are fair for the area. We left feeling disappointed to be honest. Was expecting more.

Service, service, service! This restaurant has it down!!!! We read great "near" 5 star reviews. Ive heard a few times how great it is. But I mean...it just started to spring drizzle and to avoid the crowd, son and I opted to sit outside. They have heatlamps yall!!! There was no wait! The staff gave us an option. Im a vegetarian, and they had me at no lard in the food. Yess! I ordered a hibiscus margarita on the rocks. Delish. He put a lil drizzle of chamoi and tajin. I loved it. He brought a sample of pomagranate margarita also to try. By the time we left the masses had arrived! The food was great. I like the generous blop of pico de gallo, guac and roasted salsa. Great experience and at least 4 employees checked on me. 5 stars !!!

Food was really good. Their michelada was delicious as well. I wish they had draft beer though. Other than that pretty much everything was on point.

Food Service and Ambiance was just great! Love their café de olla. Also had their Mole and it was really good. We came here with my siblings to celebrate what would've been our Dad's 80th Birthday our server was funny and friendly and attentive. We would definitely come back.

Best cocido ever. Just like Mom's! All food fresh and delicious. People are friendly.
The food is always piping hot and pretty good.Drinks are reasonable. I get the michelada of red Tecate and OMG. A must try.Make sure you get there early, lines form pretty quick and long.

Thanks to the Yelpers, we found the best mexican food in the San Gabriel valley! Give it a try, trust me you'll be back! 4/2024 Recent visit Fonda Don Chon still has title best in the SGV! This visit we tried the Chile Rellenos, Wet Burrito Panchon Chile Verde, Filete Sarandeado and Cocido. Everything was on point! Gotta try it trust me!

Wait times too long. 3:30 Sunday after brunch waited 45 min. Will not go back. Waiter was great and food was good but not worth the wait. Glad we tried it.

First time we went and the truth is I loved it, everything was very good, very clean, the staff not to mention all very friendly and the food was delicious, my son ordered the roast burrito dipped in green sauce and for me and my husband we ordered the Molcajete VIP, I recommend them 100%, we were so hungry that I owe you the photos ??
