I had the Crispy catfish curry and it was beyond amazing. The depth of flavor achieved in this dish was layered but graspable. The spicy level was complemented by the acidity and savoriness of the curry.

Food was great and the service was good. They were attentive to me and my family. The restaurant has a nice vibe around it. I do wish they have more food to offer than just mostly curry. I do love the tea salad we got. Would def come back and would recommend to other people.

After doing some shopping at Hobby Lobby nearby, it was dinner time and we weren't prepared. Not feeling like burgers, pizza or Chinese food, I was glad a Burmese restaurant popped up. It had high ratings and was only a short drive away. Arrived around 5:30 and they were surprisingly empty. The interior still has the previous Japanese restaurant's decor. The menu was fairly simple and the servers were great at explaining the different flavors to us. Food: * Fish cake curry: Slight heat with a bold flavor. Works well with rice. * Own Hta-min and Chicken is a curry dish served with coconut rice. It's fragrant and delicious with big chunks of chicken meat. * Tea leaf salad, one of their popular dishes is packed with flavor and textures. I've had this at other Burmese restaurants before and this is the best. There's so many things going on in this salad that it's hard to explain. Just try it. * Parata, like a Naan but very flaky and great for mopping up the curry, served piping hot and fresh. An order gets you 2, and it's not yet in the menu so you'll have to ask for it. There are other items they offer but not yet in the menu, which is a shame because I would've tried them. I only learned about them while looking at Yelp photos. So check them out before going. You can ask and they will make it. Note* the fritters platter is only available on weekends. It's like Burmese tempura. Besides menu items, they also sell prepackaged sauces and curries in the fridge section. They also have ground or beans of coffee from Burma. The guys here are friendly, the food is so flavorful and the prices are very reasonable. I'm not a Burmese food expert, but of all of the restaurants I've been to, Mandalay has the best tasting food. We are going back for sure to support this small business.

We had an absolutely delightful experience here! We ordered the chicken curry with coconut rice, tea leaves salad, and the everything salad. The portion sizes were perfect for my husband and I to share all three dishes and leave satisfied. The meal was served with their delicious chicken broth and you can ask for hot tea instead of water if you choose. The servers were incredibly kind. I heard one of them telling the people behind us that they just came from Burma two years ago, so the flavors are as close as you can get to being there. We will definitely be returning and recommending that all of our local friends try it out!

Hidden Gem of West Covina. It’s my first time trying Burmese food and HOLY smokes it’s so good. I wasn’t sure I’ll like it but I’m so glad I gave it a shot. Can’t get such well done, healthy, and traditional Burmese food like this any where else in the area. Highly

The family here are so accommodating and lovely. The food tastes homemade and was delicious. Give this place a shot if you've never had Burmese food like me, as this was my first time. Has more flavor than some of the other Thai places I've had.
