One of my favorite cafes! They only have pour-over coffees which is my favorite type of coffee anyway. I think Philz hiring practices are on-point, because the servers are always upbeat, friendly, and open for a chat! Once you get coffee here, it’s so nice to be able to go outside on the Culver steps and just haaang and enjoy the sunny So Cal weather. And once the coffee poop time invariably arrives, you can just come back into Philz and use their bathroom.

I have visited here three times and two out of three have been relatively negative. The ladies who took my order were fine. But my name wasn’t called for my order when it was ready. I had to inquire. Once apparently they had to remake my drink but didn’t bother telling me. And there was no acknowledgement about the ten minutes I waited before inquiring. Another they never called my name for my food. When I inquired there was no acknowledgment. No apology for the wait. No hello. Nothing. Apparently it was just sitting on the side behind counter items. When I asked about it she said “oh” and tossed it at me.

I knew I should order the most popular drink for a reason. It was so good!! It is definitely creamy how I like my coffee. I love the mint! Never had coffee with mint before and now I will crave this. I got decaf and I still enjoyed it. I would come back again!

Me and my friends order coffee. A lady in the counter making coffee said in a condescending way 'next time if you have a big order, use the app and it will help us' this is the first time we ordered coffee from them. I wish she should have said it in a better way

I usually have a good experience with this Philz, but I had ordered an UberEats on a Saturday at noon which I understand is peak time, but I had no choice because I was working on finals and couldn't leave the house. I used to work at Philz so I'm pretty aware of what goes on behind the bar. But whoever made my coffees just took the pour over that was meant for a hot coffee and dunked milk and ice and called it a day. Due to the incorrect water measurements and incorrect amount of times poured through, my coffee tasted like water with milk which is pretty gnarly. Also I'd ordered a philtered soul cold brew and I could tell that the barista had done the same thing as my other coffee because there was no reason for the cold brew to be completely watered down when it's supposed to be pre prepped and ready to go. My friend and I kept joking whenever we forced ourselves to take a sip by saying "ass coffee" because it tasted like crap. But we tried to drink it cuz ubereats is expensive but we just couldn't and ended up tossing it I understand how stressful a rush can be but it's pretty disappointing regardless.

I ordered their popular mint mojito coffee to go (with less sugar) and it was good. I've had this same drink before at other locations and was glad I asked for less sweet this time around because usually I am wired after drinking the regular sweet version. I didn't spend too much time in the store since I was just ordering to go, but the wait for the drink wasn't long, and the staff was nice. I had a nice experience here and would definitely come back.

Hey Hey!! It's my first time here!! My coffee sister told me to try this place, said I would break up with my favorite coffee shop =O. Tried the Culver City spot ( not easy to access, btw! ) parked over at Trader Joe's and walked over. Happy welcome after calling to find this place. It's bright and open concept with minimalist decor in there; I could hang out comfortably if I had time. Friendly explanations and service was fast, even though they brew one cup at a time. Tantalizing Turkish with creamy cream is what I tried: delicious!! Will I break up with my regular coffee spot? That remains to be seen, lol!! I will definitely grab a coffee tomorrow before work! Pastries to choose from, but I resisted! Look out local coffee shops!! Philz cup at a time in Culver City, come check it!! =D
