On paper, this isn’t a location that my wife and I would seek out - but we heard nothing but good things about the food and staff. We had some family in town and twisted their arm to join us and give this place a try. WOW! Awesome experience in every way. Parking was easy and plenty on the side of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and sat us right away. The drinks came quick - as did our appetizers. We got a mix of patas and pizzas, packed with flavor and generous portions for each. I was told that I need to sing the praises of the gnocchi sauce specially. All in all, come check this place out! Truly a diamond in the “rough”.

Went to Umberto Trattoria to celebrate a girlfriend's birthday! The service was spot on from entry to exit. The wait staff is super attentive. The food mega ? yum, flavorful, and great portions. I had a whole serving to take home! Ask for Rebekah -- she keeps the staff on their toes.

Found my new favorite Italian spot in Culver City! Came in to try their Mushroom and Truffle pizza and it was delicious! The truffle oil was not too overpowering on the pizza which was great! If you are a truffle lover, look no further. My friend had the Spinach Ravioli which was today’s special and it was amazing as well. I will definitely be coming back!

Stopped in for lunch on a recent visit to LA and we weren't disappointed! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles. The place is noisy but we were lucky to get a quiet corner table which wasn't too bad. Rachel, our waiter, was amazing! She was attentive and made sure our order was straight forward including complimentary ice when we needed it. The manager, Erwan, and stopped by our table and made us feel welcome. In general, a good impression. We will definitely return. The Bolognese tagliatelle was great too!

Saw they had a teacher's appreciation thing (20% discount) decided to try it. Came in. sat down. had absolutely NO service while they were helping everyone else. Got tired of watching my hungry kids try to flag down a waitress. Felt completely disrespected. Left.

The desert is the real MVP of this restaurant. Must try the Pistachios Tartufo, it's an ice cream scoop powdered in pistachio. 10/10 would come just for this. Any classic motorcycle fans will enjoy the 3 bikes the owners stores here.

We went here during happy hour and it was great! Their homemade marinara is SO delicious! Rebecca's service and demeanor were great!! We got yummy wine (love the red blend), pizza, mozzarella sticks, Caesar salad (no anchovies, which is great for me as a vegetarian). The highlight was most certainly the pistachio tartufo dessert - never had anything like it and don't even do desserts in general but I will be going back for this one!

We had dinner at this restaurant with a group of friends and the food and service was excellent. I ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and it was delicious. My husband ordered the fettuccine Alfredo which was also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for families and couples or large events due to the great space they have!

My girlfriend found this place and I had high expectations for Umberto Trattoria based on the 4.5 star Yelp review. For me, as the price goes up, so do my expectations and we were underwhelmed with this dining experience. To start with we had the Mozzerella Sticks ($15) and they were pretty good but they were small and there 8 of them. For what we got, it seems like the price should have been $8 - $12. For my dinner, I got Umberto's Homemade Lasagna ($23). The taste was really good but again, the portion was very small for this price point where I've seen portions almost twice this size at other restaurants. I'm glad we had an appetizer because I would have otherwise gone home still hungry. My girlfriend got the Spaghetti & Meatballs ($21) and although her portion was large, the taste just didn't pop the way you would hope it would. We also found out that the meatballs are a beef / pork combo. But for whatever reason this dish was not as flavorful as we would have liked. Final thoughts: Our bill was $70 (before tip) for 2 dinners and an appetizer, and we didn't have wine or drinks. In my opinion this was way too much for what I feel like we got. I don't mind paying $20+ for a dish but, once again, as the price point goes up so do my expectations, and the food needs to taste great & I want nice big portions (enough to eat until I'm full and have leftovers to take home). Another item that we considered getting was the Cesar Salad which they were asking $19 for, which seemed unusually high. We would be down to come back and try the pizza but based on the price of this place vs the amount of food you get, I think we'll keep looking for a new favorite Italian place.

I wanted to love and 5 star this place, I really did. After a high hopes talk with the owner on the phone about ingredients and the minimal use of garlic "People don't realize, we don't use garlic in everything in Italy", and me responding with many "Amens", I was SOLD, hook line and sinker to get me some yummy Italian. I got the spaghetti and meatballs ($21), BF got lasagna ($23) and we got some mozzarella sticks for an appetizer ($15). I was hoping the portions were ginormous so that I would be slurping Italian food all weekend, but not the case. My BF's lasagne portion was pretty tiny and if we didn't get an appetizer, he would have left hungry. Onto the food, directly. The mozzarella sticks were good. The spaghetti and meatballs were good, not great. I love me a meaty meat ball, I dont order them often but when I do I want it to taste like MEAT. This had a blander, softer, milder texture and taste and I told BF this might be chased with pork. Asked the waiter and yea, it was. I wished the menu would have stated that the meatballs were beef AND pork cuz I would not have ordered them. Also, the pasta was cooked Al dente and I like a softer pasta (ideally). The red sauce was good though. BF got the lasagne and it was very good. But for $23 I wanted it to be a huge portion to also enjoy and it was a small to medium slice. Also. I have to say, if the ambiance was white tablecloth fancy for these prices I would have been fine with that but the ambiance is a cross between a restaurant/bar with blue neon lights and several motorcycles in the middle of the place. I did however like the few pictures of Italy and the seaside on the walls. That said, I might come back to try the pizza another time.

This place is spot on in every way. The vibe is so welcoming, the staff is both warm and knowledgeable, the owner is always around to make sure you feel right at home. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Literally no complaints about this place. I wandered in here one day looking for pasta and I can't stop coming in to try a new savory wine and enjoy the jazz while I feast on a fantastic meal. Try this place you won't regret it.
