Due to this place's high rating, we decided to give it a try. The taste of the duck was very unimpressive, way below our expectation. Considering the near $60.00 price, it is highly over priced. Maybe, just maybe, they can not do it well during the COVID period, that's why I gave two stars to this place. Otherwise, just one star.

Be cautious about their hours. Although Yelp shows it's open, it doesn't. I just called their number and reached their voicemail saying that they are closed between October 18 and early November for internal remodeling. Please call them to verify it before you go. It is the owner's responsibility to update Yelp for accurate information. But they didn't do that.

Extremely Disappointed! We ordered a "Beijing Roast Duck", which was supposed to be a whole entire roast duck with meat/skin & pancakes + the rest of the duck in soup w/cabbage. We were disappointed at what the server gave us: 1- VERY LITTLE meat/skin on a small duck shaped plate. There was no way a whole duck only had that little meat on it. 2- Soup had 8 or 9 pieces of chopped up bones after they removed all the meat for first plate. It was literally ALL bones left, had they removed all the meat from this duck, then the first plate should've had A LOT more meat. From someone who worked in a restaurant for over 5 years, there was NO WAY that was a WHOLE duck we ordered. Shame shame shame!! *** Buyers be aware, this is quite common in restaurants where they shave off a few pieces of meat from the whole duck/chicken on the menu --- Unless the bird is served in its entirety on the plate LOL!

Our first time and will be last time at this restaurant. They don't know how to cook, period. The supposed to be stir fried chicken was so over deep fried that we couldn't tell it was chicken at all. Eggplant was too sweet and its skin was too tough to chew. Lamb meat tasted like rubber. So bottom line is font go there, or you will be as disappointed as I am.

The place itself looks promising as a Chinese restaurant. Not touristy at all... Barely had an English menu, honestly, which again, for me, is a good sign. Service was good, but the food was great. The main thing to go for is the Peking duck which wasn't the best I've had, but really good and properly executed. The skin was crispy and the meat was very juicy and tender. All the traditional condiments were served, julienned cucumber and spring onion, with thin delicious pancakes. Highly recommended.

The Peking duck skin is filled with fat. Sauce doesn't taste good. The whole place smells bad.

I think ownership has changed recently, at least since my takeout 4 months ago. Chinese name has changed. Quality of the Peking duck has plummeted and the Peking cuisine menu has changed to Jiangxi cuisine. Very different taste now. I mourn for the lost of great Peking Duck house.

Excellent overall and one of the best places for Peking duck. It also comes with soup from the duck bones.

Went there for the Beijing Duck. The duck and the duck soup are very tasty. The service is also very good. Will be back next time when we are in Bay Area.

FYI, Beijing Duck House is renovating the kitchen and would be reopened on July 1st. ------- Just heard that when trying to order pick up.

Got the duck and tried to order some of the other stuff like Beijing beef cake and lamb dishes but they said they didn't have that stuff available. I think maybe with less business they don't have all the items so call in to check. They recommended the Kungpao chicken which we got. It was actually really good probably the best I've had. They do make it different than normal kungpao I get at Chinese restaurants. The duck was good, very oily but i think that's how it is. The soup was really good too.

I have not tried their duck, this review is solely based on their buns they have at the front. Walked past today couldn't resist the buns they have on the display case. Not sure if they only offer it bc of covid but damnnn the pork bun was so juicy and flavorful! I've had alot of pork buns in my life and this might take first place. As I bit into it, juice spilled everywhere and I was surprised how much flavor there meat had. There wasn't alot of it, but it was the perfect amount for how intense the flavor was. $1.5 per bun. I also tried the beef and plain bun but I would skip on those--wasn't as flavorful, pork is way better imo.

Called Saturday afternoon and was able to preorder a Peking duck for pick up. By the time we called, the earliest pick time available was 7pm. Probably best to order one day ahead so you get the time slot for pick up that you desire. Parking was easy and food was ready by ~705-710 for a 7pm pick up so they're punctual for an Asian place (haha). Portions were a bit on the smaller side. We had to order double the amount of the pancake/tortilla wraps and cut up our own cucumbers and scallions at home as they give you enough dressings for only 1-2 people. My fiancé is super picky about Peking duck and he really enjoyed this place. He felt the wraps were perfectly thin and soft and there were plenty of crispy fatty duck skin pieces. Out of all the spots in the Bay Area he finds this place most akin to what he was served in Beijing on his business trip. We brought home the duck which came with two large containers of soup, threw the soup in the microwave and the duck in the oven for a few minutes to rejuvenate that crisp. The duck meat was fatty juicy and flavorful! His traditional Chinese parents also enjoyed the duck. It was ~$70 for 4 people who don't eat very much. I'd recommend getting 2 ducks for families of big eaters. I'm sure it's even better as dine in so hopefully we can give them a shot when they open up again for indoor dining. By the way, you're able to order through q menu on their website and although it says pay in cash at restaurant they do accept credit card!

Authentic Peking duck for a very reasonable price. Packed well too.
