The location at SF is definitely way more popular and crowded. Must try at least once if you haven't!

This place deserves a ZERO for service. We had soup and sandwiches on a Saturday evening craving for some clam chowder soup bowl. After taking our order and waiting at least 10 min we were told by one of the servers they didn't have clam chowder anymore. So was offered a different soup which was butternut squash and a tomato soup. We sat there eating for 44 min and I overheard a customer who ordered clam chowder being told it would take at least 30 min. But after he left they came out with their big pot of clam chowder?! Really?! I was beyond irritated at this point. Knowing that the server had told us no clam chowder left so had to change my order and then finding out there was a pot being made but just wasn't ready when I placed my order? I get it they don't want to start cooking a new pot of soup but it was no where near closing time so why lie to tue customers saying there was no more left? I then confronted the older guy and asked why did he tell me they were all out when clearly a customer had asked for some and all he said to me was it wasn't finished yet, it was still cooling off. I told him I have been here for the past 45 min and they should've given me an option of waiting for the clam chowder instead of LYING to their customer?! I spoke to the person who took my order and asked why was I told that and all that person said was that the on duty manager (Melissa) said to tell me that. I did tell that person what she did was wrong to lie to the customers. I will stay with Panera from now on. But in the future just be straight forward to the customers and give them the option of waiting or if you are completely out of something then you can tell us. Thank you to our person who helped take our order. I won't be upset at that person but upset that the manager Melissa can't be honest with customers!

Opened the doors late , i was in a hurry, stood at the register for 5 mins all while the 5 people that saw me come in stood there and watched me. Another min goes by and then the girl thats 5 feet from me says, are you ready to order? I look at her and I said, I've been ready? She then takes her gloves off and then puts down her bread that she's putting away and then finally comes to the register to take my order , it's now 10:09 and I have not placed my order yet, I look at her and everyone around in the store and it's not that they are busy, I'm the only one in the store. I realize at this moment that this place does not earn my hard earned money today , nor likely in the future. It's times like this, where I don't understand, if everybody is hurting for business, why is nobody ready to go? Why is nobody in there saddle ready to earn that money? Also there is no gameplan with the restaurant team either, for there should always be a person at the register, or a host/hostess at the front door It's cause nobody cares anymore, nobody is worried about making a good impression, everybody's: "poor me" and "my situation" ya'll better step it up or you're gonna get left in the past! You get back what you Give Make or Break time my Fellow Americans, we all have a duty to do our best in whatever we are doing in the moment, it matters. Good Luck Boudin

I purchased the sourdough bread pizza. It was ok. More cheese than sauce. It was more like cheese bread. Other than that, the service was speedy, and the bathrooms were clean. I will go back and try more menu items; I just won't be getting the pizza again.

Ordered half soup and tuna fish sandwich and a patty melt. It was delivered by doordash. somewhere in the complex and was missing the chicken salad sandwich and the Patty melt had been nuked into a pet rock The process for reporting this unexcitable. Boudin took no responsibility for food they sent. I will never order again from them. To bad they survived and are still in business after the pandemic.

Disappointed from service & inside smells like burnt food, yuck... Almost left, but hungry for something new Portabella mushroom sandwich... Took 30+mins to get a half sandwich and soup... thankfully the soup was warm, but the attitude of the staff was very cold. Bathroom has no toilet paper... Not coming back to this location again!

Realy bad experience. The sandwich was cold. The staff seems aloof and uninterested. The bathrooms (men) are dirty. ALL (four) soap dispensers are empty. ALL the napkin despisers are empty. One wonders how is that remotely acceptable.

Ordered DoorDash for lunch and enjoyed my half soup half sandwich order! I ordered the tomato soup and tried the italian sandwich for the first time and i enjoyed both! Had left over sandwich and soup for next day. Would def order again when i am in the mood.

Very bad experience. Don't go there. The soup was cold. The Avocado sandwich missed the most important ingredient- Avocado. And the server and manager couldn't care less.
My family and I were out running errands yesterday afternoon. We wanted to grab something to eat before the next store. We saw boudin, great I love sourdough. My husband and son both order, then I order: bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich. (Simple) After what seemed like a long wait they bring my husband his BLT. Woah, that bacon looks awesome. He makes a comment and I was like that's fine, I'll be getting bacon on my sandwich too. When my sons breakfast burrito and my sandwich finally arrive, no bacon. My son was fine with his and I let it be. So, I take my sandwich up to the counter and the kid that delivered it looks at me and I tell him I ordered a bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich. He shakes his head no. (Wow!) Yes, I ordered a Bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich. Oh, yeah yes you did and takes my plate. He tells the, what I assume is the supervisor. She says with disgust throw it away she already touched it. (Umm ok it was delivered to me, rude) another 20 minutes later, after both my husband and son have finished eating I get my replacement sandwich. I know others were in line but I had ordered way before them, it wasn't my mistake, why should I have to wait? Having to wait that long was ridiculous. Finally, The same server starts to hand it to my husband that has a plate in front of him, and he points to me. He kinda tosses the plate in front of me and walks away. I get an Over cooked egg and not so good looking bacon and cheese breakfast sandwich. Not one of the employees apologized for the mix up. I got rude and disgust from the two employees when I brought the mistake to their attention. Looking at the menu, I was hoping to try other items in the future, but this service left a bad taste in my mouth.

I want to love this place. Both the food and the real estate are top notch. But the service is just painfully slow. You know that sloth/dmv scene in that pixar movie? Yeah. It's like THAT. I've learned to order ahead or often order via the website WHILE standing in line..... and yet they don't have all their menu items available on the website so sometimes you have to wait in the sloth/dmv line. This place needs better management and better staffing.

This review is specific to the "steak banh mi". Simply, not good, don't order, bound to be disappointed. All other Boudin menu items, with no exception to this date, were superb. It is one of my favorite "go-to" place for lunches or simple dinners. This is the first time that I was disappointed at Boudin. First, the "ratio" was obviously wrong. Banh Mi bread should be narrower. Boudin's version was ciabatta bread sized and that did not look right. But I can overlook this, they have gone "non-traditional" with their "burger" and the outcome was quite good. As I bit into the sandwich, that's when other wrong things came out. The bread should be closer to baguette in texture, it was soft and therefore on the soggy side. The meat was not sliced but chunks, also not really flavored well. I expect Vietnamese pickled vegetables and they were sparse and pickled weakly. If this is the attempt to attract new customers with its own invention of a better banh mi, the attempt failed. Still come to Boudin, but stick with its proven good stuff: chowder in bread bowls, all salads, and "western" sandwiches.
