I think MERLION restaurant went out of business due to the pandemic. SADLY we couldn't get take outs there anymore. SIGH. Life due to Covid. So many restaurants closed shop

Not good. First of all the wait time was so long. Next of all their dishes needs to be cooked properly. I ordered the Thai Eggplant only to find the thing very greasy and drained in a ketchup-like sauce. The Roti Prata was ok but the sauce they gave too could've been better. Last of all, they should improve their seating. All for what I expected a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant. This was four years ago.

aesthetic: 2/5 food: 1/5 service: 2.5/5 came here after visiting singapore because i was craving the food so much, but this place was disappointing. my mom and i ordered a vegan pineapple fried rice and it was enough for us to share- the food tasted very meh and made my stomach hurt:( also, service was super slow- even though the restaurant was mostly empty, it took more than 30 minutes for our food to come, and by that point i kinda just wanted to leave and eat at home :/ overall i would not recommend merlion if you're looking for a quick, authentic bite to eat and fast, attentive service !!

Our extended family came here for my nephew's 21st birthday and it was...oddly deserted for a Friday night. I'm not sure if they'll stay around long if no more than 2 other people come into their huge restaurant on a Friday night! The food was good but not really memorable. The fact that the restaurant next door was jam packed with hardly any room was testament to the fact that maybe the days of the large, elegant banquet restaurant are no longer in vogue. I liked the decor and service was good but felt like it was a rather cavernous place with just our party.

Really good vegetarian options with varying spice levels. We did try the appetizer sampler, it looks good but I think it can be skipped. If you like Roti praya and chicken, the you should try the Murtabak though

This place is one of my favorites! Good pricing, big dishes and the staff members are consistently helpful.

How could one mess up the order 3 times? We ordered 4 Thai iced tea with other entrees and appetizers. 1. None of the ice tea came even when all the food came. 2. Asked the waitress for our Thai tea, nothing happened. 3. Asked another waitress for our 4 Thai tea, one came. Asked again, then they served the other 3. The food is nothing special. There are plenty other better restaurants around. Most likely I won't be back.

Two things I should have done: 1. Checked Yelp for reviews; 2. Left when we were the only table being served on a Saturday night at 8:30pm. Our waitress was fairly nice, accomadating our needs with quick service. We ordered Calamari, Seafood Laksa, Red Curry, and a couple drinks. The calamari was fried in what tasted like old, unchanged canola oil. The taste was very weird. I ended up peeling all the fried skin off just to eat the squid. I took a bite of one calamari skin and it exploded in an excessive amount of salt. It literally tasted like I just opened my mouth in the ocean. Even after sipping my beer, the salty taste was still there. The Laksa looked promising. The shrimp was slimy, but the fish balls were okay. The Laksa soup lacked any kind of seasoning. There was so much oil floating around in the soup as well. It tasted like a thick, creamy oil. No salt, no seasoning, no seafood flavor. The noodles were just as bland. I left the bowl unfinished. The red curry was peculiar. It was decent compared to our other dishes, but still severely lacking in comparison to other dishes I've had before tonight's experience. After finishing our meal, I tried to sip on my beer and I kept feeling food coming back up. I didnt eat much, but I thought that I just must have been full. I left my beer unfinished as well. When I came home, the food still kept coming back up until I ran to my toilet from steadily increasing nausea. I came back a second time after already puking, because the food was still fighting with my stomach. Now I'm in bed with a twisting stomach writing this review. I still feel nauseas and the food continues to fight with me. I was optimistic about this restaurant, but this was the worst dining experience I've had in a long time. If you are thinking about taking your chances, I highly recommend that you take your business elsewhere.

Absolutely delicious food! Fresh protein and produce, amazing seasoning with a pinch of spice and moderate fat. Portions and food very balanced and good size. Will defiantly visit once again:)

No trip to the Bay Area is complete without a trip to Merlion! The food and service here is consistently incredible. It's my family's favorite restaurant and definitely one of the best dining options in Cupertino.

Nice restaurant inside. But on a Sunday night, we were the only table in there. Food reasonably priced, but a little too salty. The waitress wasn't very attentive, took several minutes to get her attention when getting the bill.

Popped in for a visit last weekend. No one was there before we came in so we practically had the place to ourselves. Beautiful space, very quiet and dedicated fast service. I was really relieved to see such an extensive menu, with many vegetarian options. Hubby ordered the chicken satay, which he thoroughly enjoyed! Said the chicken had just the right amount of turmeric and was very juicy. I ordered the garlic noodles, which were a bit on the oily side but extremely delicious. Additionally, thanks to Yelp, we were also able to get a free serving of their roti prata (and korma), which is actually the best I've tasted, even compared to a few South Indian restaurants in the bay. Overall, I enjoyed the visit and would definitely not mind coming again. My ONLY complaint would be their hot tea: was expecting some house brewed loose leaf tea and got Lipton instead.

Awesome Singaporean classy restaurant. The Merlion statue in front is exactly like the statue in Singapore harbor. Brass tax: Best fried food! Every fried food was perfectly crunch. Quality large 30ct shrimp. Great egg rolls Great sauces Laksa: not very good... no tumeric, bland and tasteless Disappointing as this is Singapore traditional fish Roti and bread perfect Satee perfect Singapore sling powerfully potent
