I tried the signature set, which contains everything, beef sukiyaki, salmon, katsu, and veg. Great combination! The beef sukiyaki udon is also great!

Best Ramen place I've been in the Bay Area.We walked in thinking it might be a good place because of the reviews but it turned out to be excellent. They say us down and explain how the "order on the iPad" worked, and given that my wife has dietary restrictions they told her to wait a minute. After a little while the chef/manager comes out and goes through the menu with her explaining what she could and couldn't eat. It was really something else. After that I ordered my food and everything came out right awayThe place has a great atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. It's on the top3 of my restaurants to go back to.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendlyExtra dietary restrictions can be accommodated

Great set menu. The wagu sukiyaki is excellent. The clams in the soup are really fresh. The fried ika (squid) is lightly battered and not overcooked. Toy definitely should try this place.

YAYOI cupertino is so popular, at least 30 min wait for weekend dinner. Food quality is good, this is one of my go-to place for everyday Japanese food.

You are on the customer side of a cooking video game here. You order via ipad and you are able to see your order entering different statuses: being prepared, done, delivered. You order drinks like plain water, hot water or refills for your tea pot via ipad. I looked around and saw that they had fewer staff in the general eating area for a restaurant of this size. Such a fun place to eat if you are an engineer or someone who likes to people-watch or study efficiency/effectiveness of dining establishments. Okay, so back to the food part of the review. So tasty! The sakura sencha was a very fragrant and high-quality tea. The takoyaki arrived piping hot with the katsuo-bushi flakes waving from the steam escaping from the dough balls. The octopus was chewy and had a smokey flavor. (yum) The miso shiru was well-flavored (not overly salty like some places). The tonkatsu and most importantly the eggy sauce was well-cooked to be soft and runny. I was surprised by the generous portion of eggplant in the nasu miso. We had such a nice lunch that we opted to eat lighter for dinner. You will not leave hungry. Ambience=5, Service=5, Food=5.
Food tasted okay but nothing special. Not much meat, mostly rice.Average price for meal was $27. I consider that a bit above average cost of a meal and the meal didn't justify the cost.

Everything was very flavorful and came out super quickly. The karage chicken and hand rolls were great appetizers. The sukiyaki udon was deeply filling and flavorful. I will definitely be coming back here!

I love their rice. The Tonkotsu teishoku (set) is very great. Nice fried pork cutlet and a delicious side dish. The Oyako Tsu (chicken egg rice) is not very recommended. The sauce is too plain so the rice is rice itself. The good ones in Japan taste very different. The rice should be mixed with sauce. The egg is too dry.Dessert is good. This will be favorite place for Tonkotsu rice place.

More like a food chain type of restaurant with a touch of class. They don’t serve you complimentary water unless you ask. Their heated toilets, along with the Takoyaki are the highlights of my visit
