“Mashaallah started out as a food truck but now has a stall in the food court of Westfield San Francisco. Despite its humble appearance, this small business offered some of the best Pakistani food I've had in the city from its steam table of freshly-prepared meat and vegetable curries. A star dish here (which came recommended by Soleil Ho) was the Lamb Korma, made of super tender, lean, meaty chunks of lamb in a spiced curry. On my combination plate, I also got the Chana Masala (chickpea curry) and the Palak Paneer (cheese cubes in a velvety puréed spinach sauce), served along with rice. Every item was delicately spiced and flavorful without being too salty, and the garnishes of raw onion and cilantro brought out the freshness of the dishes. On the side, I also had an order of Garlic Naan (another star item), which was perfectly soft and chewy and had a wonderful flavor and aroma from the garlic and herbs. Overall, the food here was absolutely delicious, and the owners were so friendly and hospitable too!“
“Honestly, I always enjoy my experience at Pakwan. My go to is their cheese naan, which in my opinion is the best naan in SF, possibly the bay. I usually accompany it with either an aloo mutter, bengan bartha, or a chicken tikka masala. Something that goes good with naan and is scoop-able. The workers are super nice and show a lot of hospitality. I really like the ambiance and how the dine in experience is as well with the music they play and how It has a family style vibe that makes it really inviting. Overall, one of 16th streets best eats. “Best Indian fusion place in the area! A little sketchy to go at night but just don't walk around the area too much! Pani puri: SO GOOD, I've never had pani that tasted this good that wasn't in India. It was stuffed with the potato and Chana and it was spicey and just everything I wanted. We also tried the green pizza with chicken and the sauce was actually spicy. It had great flavor and one pizza was plenty for the 4 of us with an appetizer and another dish. Chicken“
“Aslam's is my absolute favorite Indian/Pakistani food in the Bay Area! Huge fan of their chicken madras and saag paneer. The naan is always perfectly toasty and I'd recommend a mango lassi to accompany it all. The quantities are satisfying and we often end up taking a whole extra meal's worth home in a to go box. On top of the excellent food, the service is phenomenal. It's the type of warm, friendly, family-owned business that makes SF feel like home. They've been a low-key institution on Valencia st. for at least as long as I've ben here, and quickly became a go-to. If you want to impress someone by taking them to that 'sleeper spot' with incredible food, take 'em to Alsam's!“
“I got Karahi Gosht and it was authentic and flavorful. Serving quantity was decent as well. I live in the South Bay and most places over there don't get this dish right. 5* from me, for the Karahi Gosht and Naan. Service understandably took some time because they make it fresh and piping hot. And I went there in between performances of standup comedy at Cobb's next door.“
“So happy to have found this place -- by far the best Indian food I've had on the Peninsula, SF, or anywhere. Everything is incredibly flavorful & fresh. Best chana masala, bengan bartha, bhindi masala, and dal I've had anywhere.And low oil without having to ask!Great for in-person dining and takeout. The decor and ambiance are delightful and outdoor seating area (w option for hookah) is beautiful and comfortable-looking.“
“Near San Francisco town, if I get a good restaurant there this is the one. Food ambiance and service all are good .. love the steamed momo, tandoori chicken..yum yum.. masala chai we didn't like. One suggestion will be that if they can provide red chutney with momo that will be beyond perfect, definitely will visit again“
“I ordered the Chicken Thali with chicken tikka masala and it was the most delicious rich gravy I've ever eaten. the service is good and the people are friendly.i came back to try the chicken tikka masala pizza and it was great. it was a huge slice for 5 bucks n the flavors were bomb.“
“Freddie is the best!!!! He deserves a promotion! Loved his personality and service, even though he was not our server.Overall, went here during happy hours. Tandoori wings were very juicy, great French gimlet for a drink (not sweet). Definitely recommend both. Paneer tikka and chicken Saagwala was great too!“
“Wonderful food and really great prices! The buffet is back and for a very reasonable price I was able to eat my favorite Indian dishes. The buffet is available until 4 in the afternoon which is amazing I was still able to grab a late lunch/dinner. Will definitely be back!“
“I love this restaurant. Not many places have Haleem and Nihari, but this one does! Everything we had was delicious. I ordered chicken Haleem and my fiancé has the Paneer Tikka Masala. The paneer masala was flavorful with a slight sweetness. The naan was huge! And the aloo naan was delicious as well.“
“This place has some amazing Indian food. I work for an airline and travel the world eating Indian and this is amongst the very best. A particular favorite is their Chili Chicken. It's tender, spicy and just amazing! Their naan is so tasty as well. I can't wait for another San Francisco layover to order again. “I honestly have to say this is one of the best places I've ever been they're super inexpensive I was homeless and used to come here a lot when I was able to with my service animal and they treated me with such kindness and generosity I moved away two years ago but will be moving back and this will be the first restaurant I go and visit when I move back at the end of April 2024! Super excited to see the new renovations!“

“Food was great but service and atmosphere I was really disappointed in! The cashier let us stare at the Today’s specials forever before she showed us there was a menu. We dined in and took a number placard only to find out we had to get back up to get our food. The whole vibe of the restaurant just seemed empty and a lack of energy.“
“Came here as part of a party that rented out the back room which was spacious and private. The service was great. I particularly enjoyed the tandoori chicken wings and the samosas. We shared the rest of the food family style. I love their chicken biryani. The mango lassis were a definitely highlight and they have a hint of cardamom. Garlic naan was the best.“

We had the samosa chaat pizza, which was delicious and piled high with garbanzos, chicken, onion, cilantro, etc. We also had chicken tikka masala, which was flavorful with tender, well-seasoned chicken. The mango lassis were great too. Our server Andrew was super friendly and attentive. The menu was big, we will definitely be back to try some more dishes.“
“A pakwan fan boy. Everything they have is quite tasty. Although it’s a little expensive, but the portions are always big. Just grateful to the owner because there is atleast one budget friendly Indian restaurant in SF that has good & clean food. Servers are great too. Only recommendation would be to please improve tea. It’s just water and tea powder.“
“Excellent taste at an absolutely affordable price. The food tastes just like home. I tried daal, rice, raita and aloo gobhi sabji which really satisfied our hunger for food. Situated in the most grand serramonte boulevard is a must go place if looking for good Indian food. Try for yourself!“
