I've been going here for years now. I usually go here when I'm craving Taiwan Toast, bbq pork bun, cocktail bun... just to name a few. The place is always well kept and clean. You're greeted right away upon entering. I recently tried the mango green tea, and it was delicious was very refreshing and reasonably priced. I also tried the mango strawberry pudding. I thought it was so cute in its container. It wasn't too sweet and very light.

It been awhile since I've visited the Westlake Shopping Center. It's supposedly one of the first shopping malls built in America and has gone through an updating and expansion. So after a recently lunch here, we decided to check out the Center and happened upon Sheng Kee. The original location on Irving Street has grown to eleven locations around the Bay Area. With self-service display cases of Chinese buns, pastries and various baked goods in plastic bags, you grab a tray and tongs and pick out the goodies that you want and pay at the counter. They have various flavors of bread on top of the display cases. There are cakes and other sweet desserts in the refrigerated cases and hot desserts like egg tarts and curry beef horns that you can order from the clerks. They have boba, tea and juice drinks as well. I bought: A loaf of black sesame toast. It was tasty with black sesame in the bread. Purple Romance with fresh taro. I bought it to compare to my favorite taro bun from the other chain bakery with the double digits it its name. This was good but not as good as my favorite as the there was too little taro filling. Lot of choices here and I'm sure there is something for everyone if you need to fill your Chinese baked goods cravings.

Came in after lunch at Joe's. Wanted to treat my friend to boba. (Didn't realize Trudan was closed, not that I like Trudan) They didn't have crystal boba and sold out of grass jelly (or probably didn't have any at all), since it was only 2pm. Ordered mango GT with mango jelly (stars) and passion fruit GT with lychee jelly. Both extremely refreshing after a high sodium lunch. I wanted to buy some buns, but it was not appealing at all. Not many bakeries have pineapple bbq pork bun, so I was going to buy 2... However.. what they have on display was FLATTEN pineapple bbq pork bun ... not even sure if there is any pork in there ... Like ... how do you let it get flatten like that ..

Best breads and pastries in the bay. Sweet and savory buns simply the best. Cheaper than a McDonald's burger and 10x better

Picked up a strawberry cake with whipped cream for a birthday and everyone devoured it! The yellow cake was chiffony and very light and the whipped cream was fresh and not overly sweet. There were quite a few strawberries included in the cake, so it was really moist and delicious! Would definitely buy more cakes from Sheng Kee! I was at the Daly City location and they've really enlarged it. Lots of pastries in self-serve cases (use the tongs, please!!) and an area where you can sit and have beverages with your yummy pastries!

Yummy baked goods and pretty good drink menu - milk teas includes three free toppings of your choice. First time I've seen this option and it's good too. I like this location since it's spacious and spread out with tables. This place saved me when my area had a power outage as they have WiFi if you are a patron :) A plus is staff is also nice. Note I think there's a credit card minimum so bring cash for anything under $10/$15.

This place is Racist. It goes by Chinese people first. A Chinese man cut in front of me & was serve first. The lady said he was in line first. Okay that's fine. But Right after she rung him up she left the cash registers to serve another Chinese man that just walk up at the other cash register when clearly I was next. If you not Chinese please don't come here.

I've never been a huge fan of Sheng kee because their baked goods weren't that interesting to me but this time when I stopped by, I was actually intrigued by some of their products. Sheng kee is never a place where I would buy pineapple buns because it never seems fresh. This time when I was there, I actually got a pineapple bun! It looked so fluffy and it was actually warm! The bun itself tasted like how pineapple buns should taste like, sweet on top and soft bread underneath. I also got their black sesame roll which also seemed to be a newer product. The black sesame cake itself was delightful. Full of toasted black sesame flavor. The cream on the other hand could use some work. It almost tasted like frosting. Too sweet in my opinion. It would be nice if they use the cream on their whipped cream cakes. I also ended up trying their fresh egg tarts. Usually I get their Portuguese egg tarts in the warmer and they're always delightful. The egg tarts are pretty good too. The crust is more on the oily flakey side which I prefer over a cookie crust. Good job Sheng kee. I will be back! Note- there are birds that sneak inside this store which doesn't seem the most sanitary. They stay on the side where customers drop their crumbs and not where the breads are being sold

This bakery is my go to. I love their stuff. The buns, cakes, and service. We order traditional Chinese cake from them for special occasions and are always happy. This is my goto bakery. Westlake and up the hill in 99 Ranch.
