The food was just fine. I didn't think it was priced very well for what they gave. The drinks were good. Service was very slow for a lunch. Never got my water refilled and I sat at the bar.

Second time coming here and had different food items. All were amazing. The spices used and the quality of the food is really great. I so enjoy this restaurant. B, our server was wonderful. she was gracious, knowledgeable, and gave us good suggestions on what to order. It was a great night.

Food is ok, menu is a bit limited. The menu listed a lychee lemonade (non alcoholic), I asked if they could make lychee martini and our server said no. Then I ordered a side car which she didn't know what that was and asked what alcohol I wanted in it- I said the bartender should know how to make. Also there was a conditional tag on the window from health inspector. There are plenty of really good places in Danville, unfortunately this isn't one in our opinion.

Kaori serves excellent cuisine and their manager, staff and servers are always personable, efficient and knowledgeable. We dine there regularly and have consistently enjoyed the experience. The food is prepared with care and the Black Cod, Prawns, Bento and Blue Fin Tuna are all standouts. The dishes are beautifully prepared with unique flavor profiles and presentation. The cocktails and wine list pair wonderfully with the Asian flavors.

Always a great place to have some fabulous Japanese food! It has a trendy and chic vibe with food that matches in elegance, presentation, and taste. One of my favorites in Danville!

This place is a neighborhood gem. Menu is very unique. Flavors are not sure every day standard fair. If you're looking for a unique meal with a great vibe, this place has it. It is a bit pricey, although worth it, they go above and beyond to make your dining experience a great one.

This was our first time at Kaori. The food was perfectly prepared, appetizers, salad, and main course. The cod was well presented, and the portion, while not excessive, was certainly sufficient. Our server, Bee, was attentive and personable, despite the fact that she was also serving a large party in another area of the restaurant. My only complaint relates to this other party. They were celebrating, and the noise did transmit to our table. We were the only two parties in the restaurant, as it was quite early, and I would be concerned about the noise level if the restaurant was full. Other than that one concern, it was a pleasant and satisfying dining experience, and we will return.

So-So food (poor in quality and preparation) and questionable service! The interior lacks character (walls had food stains and unpainted scratches-not very romantic). Extremely loud and not very intimate. The questionable or somewhat dishonest service began right when we sat down with the "flat or sparkling water" trick (undisclosed verbally or on the menu) at $8 plus a bottle unless I imagine we could have requested "tap" water (who would know before seeing the menu!). I am not cheap by any means but honesty is #1 and feel the server pulled a fast one. Also, the waitress without asking if we wanted a second bottle opened the 2nd bottle as she approached the table and when I mentioned "no thank you" proceeded to pour my guest and leave the bottle (still not disclosing the add'l. charge). The food, one item I will mention, was the Tako Kimuchi that lacked freshness (tough) and over-seasoned. We ordered primary from the smaller dishes to try a variety and were disappointed in the flavoring and timing. The server despite our request to bring the items out one at a time, brought them out within minutes of each other, hence, some of the items were cold and the ingredients lost their appeal, if any in the first place. In addition, they were out of four items (of course, 2 of them we wanted) and their choice of distilled liquors was extremely limited (out of stock)! This place is by no means a romantic or intimate spot. Disappointed and will not return and I cannot recommend this place.

Super lowkey spot. Once you come in they rlly take care of you. Mains are the “main” attraction imo, but that isn't to say the apps aren't good (they are good but the black cod and gin shrimp took my socks off smacked me with em then threw em out the door). When you visit; Take some time, get to know the staff, enjoy the drinks, and take it all in. New favorite place.

I am a barber in the same plaza and I've walked by this place so many times without trying it. I wish I would have tried it a lot sooner! This place is amazing! We ordered the salmon poke tacos, octopus kimchi dish, the thousand layer potatoes and the volcano cauliflower. I can't say enough good things about the volcano cauliflower it was so dang good! I was impressed by this place and the dim lighting was so relaxing after a long day. I hope you reading this order the volcano cauliflower

What an amazing restaurant! Japanese with an Asian exquisite flair and a bar that was supremely well stocked with everything from Mezcal to Whiskey. Cocktails were off the hook! Reasonably priced. We had 3 cocktails, 3 share plates, 2 entrees of cod and salmon for $222 including tax and tip. Highly recommended! Atmosphere was noisy. Super echo-y. But alas people were truly enjoying themselves!

First time attending (on a Friday night).......everything was great including service and food. We started with Gyoza, Squid, Octopus and Veggie Tempura apps -- all good size portions and delicious. We then shared the Udon noodles, short ribs and miso black cod -- all fabulous. Service and attentiveness was unequaled. Its not the cheapest place in town and cocktail list could be more inspired, but we will be back for sure, and look forward to sitting outside when weather gets warmer.
