A great stop right off the Iron Horse Trail in downtown Danville. Stopped in the middle of our ride to get some snacks and they were excellent! They have a beautiful indoor dining area as well as a very inviting outside area where you can watch the cars go by. We had the burger and fries (rare just like we like it), the pulled pork sandwich and fries which was excellent! Also had the Caesar salad and two half bottles of wine – which was such a deal and everything was very good! Will definitely return to try some other things on the menu!

We have raised two children. Because we were the Aunt & Uncle to have a pool; with cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends we had multitudes of children every weekend is always between 8 to 19 children. So trust me when I say that I know what all chain brand pizza taste like! The pizza here is so good and I can’t believe what I was eating while I was raising my children. My husband ordered the lamb shank and the meat positively fell off the bone you do not need a knife everything is delicious. I would return ~

Service : good Decor : fair food : average Price : fair 2nd time here, 1st time before COVID : nothing special then. This time still was not impressed - Rodney should try harder. Definitely much better restaurants in Danville and Lafayette...guess people just have different tastes and standards.

Group of four couples for dinner. Engaging wait staff, good wine list. Entree’s were all well received. The lunch sandwich of Smoked Chicken Salad is unparalleled.

We stopped here in middle of Iron Horse Trail biking. Dog friendly patio, nice outdoor dining. Indifferent waitress, didn't offer us any specials or seem to care to interact with us. She did with other customers so maybe its us. I had chicken salad sandwich & my wife had had pulled pork. Good food.

Used to live near Blackhawk Came back to area for medical exam. Area nice as always and had HIGH expectations of Pheasant and Pear. Hostess could not be sweeter or better. Our wait which could have been 40 minutes was only 5 minutes. Outside seating and it was fine. Good view of interesting people and nice to see some tidy and affluent or at least dressed well folks as compared to San Jose. And this was the BEST part of the visit sadly. One of the best things out going out is the people watching and the drinks and the food. We were NOT let down by people watching. The drinks at the usual $12 were perfect and tasty.. Just a bit on the small cocktail glass side. And they have bread. A loaf of bread actually. Which can be ordered with garlic and cheese. We ordered it. The wrong one was brought. And then the food was ordered. Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Riast Beef Dip sandwich. Chicken came cold. The roast beef dip came with a good thick slice of beef. Did not look too fresh. Ate 1/2 of it and it was OK not great. But for $22 I was expecting great. The chicken was found to be sold and a bit gristle. The drinks were good. Service good and attentive. Atmosphere and people great. But the food was a miss. A huge miss. For a bill over $100 for lunch I would not spend that kind of money here. We were going to try the Black Hawk Grille and WILL next time. Took a chance on this place and lost the bet.

You know how sometimes you find a place where you always are going to get great food, great service? This is one of those gems. We have been coming here for years and it is one of our favorites. The food is always top notch. They have some stables that are awesome, lamb shank, their pork chop cookedd sous vide is un-real and the home cooked fried chicken is great comfort food. The Owner, Rodney shows his happy face and passion for his food on many nights. A great place to experiment with different whiskys as well.

Ahh, Peasant and the Pear in Danville!! Usually a fairly decent place for dinner. Came here several times in the past with friends. Never over joyed but nevertheless happy. This time around however, what a disappointment!! True, first day to open after a couple of months of being closed due to COVID19. You come in with an understanding that things are not going to be quite like before. Longer waits, mask on, mask off, etc. After all, Contra Costa County gave little to almost no notice to restaurants opening. Well, this time everything went wrong!! Starting with the luck of heaters on the patio on this very windy night, the extremity long wait for the food-almost an hour (not to mention that everyone else who came after us got their order but us) and finishing off with a strong attitude from the "owner"???? It's understandable that a kitchen can be backed up on a night like this and you want to be supportive of the restaurants in your community and willing to wait and go the extra mile, but when you see everybody around you eating and you ask what's going on, you don't expect an attitude!!! Our first night out after over two months of quarantine ended up in complete shock. Not only that we didn't get our dinner in the end and charged $50 more when we should have been only charged for our two glasses of wine, but we were asked to leave!!!! A sincere apology without the entitlement attitude would have sufficed. You'll be the judge...

Sit at the bar and watch the busy action. The quich was amazing. I will joyfully eat that again. The bartenders were very happy and entertaining. Can't believe how many bloody marys went out this morning! Food quality was excellent.

Just like going to mom's for dinner. They always make you feel like family, good food, good service in the heart of Danville.

I normally love this place but this special night was a real disappointment. It started off with really terrible service. The servers were friendly but overwhelmed. We had to ask to have our waters refilled twice. My fork was filthy. It took way too long to order and then the food was hit or miss. My wife ordered the steak option and was told it would be prepared medium rare which is fine but it arrived so undercooked it wasn’t even warm. I ordered the scallops (all four of them) and they were ok at best. Finally dessert. I ordered the crepes and my wife ordered the creme brûlée. A table near us ordered the same thing. They received theirs and took selfies with them and gushed over them when the server walked up to them and took them away from them and put the desserts on our table! AWKWARD!!! And within 20 seconds delivered the couple theirs. Why do such a thing? This is normally an excellent place but not on this occasion.

A group of ladies and I went for lunch...and no one was disappointed. Our orders ranged from their signature chicken salad sandwich, fondue, Caesar salad, and more entrees. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. My thing is water! I drink a lot of water and the test is how often they refill. This waitress did not disapoint. If this location does not work for you, find one of his other restaurants. The menu is similar...and it will please you.
