I have been several times, always for the same dish. Far and away, they make the best cioppino I've had! I will be back, and soon! They made such an impression that I even remembered their name.

This is my very favorite Italian restaurant - not only because of the wonderful food, but the staff and owners are the best. I've had many meals here, but I'll tell you about my latest. I called for pick-up on my birthday a few days ago. I ordered linguini with clams. My son got the small veggie pizza. The pizza was really good, but the linguini was excellent. And there was enough for leftovers for the next day. They not only added extra clams since they knew it was my birthday, but they also sent me a big slab of cheesecake, which is exactly what I wanted. How did they know? My son did not tell them (he'd already bought me a birthday cheesecake). So if you're looking for great Italian fare and wonderful service, you've got to go to Ponte Vecchio. Unfortunately, the location on Carmel Vally Road is temporarily closed due to water damage, but you can get any of their meals at their sister restaurant, Mom's Pizza, off of Sorrento Valley Road.

Our go to Italian restaurant in Del Mar - my family staples are the chicken parm and frutti di mare. Everyone who works here is so kind and incredible. Take out is generous and always delicious.

Ordered a vegetable lasagna from this place which was described on the menu as "Layers of squash, zucchini, mushrooms, asparagus and Kalamata olives, bechamel, ricotta cheese, marinara sauce and cheese." What I got was just a plain old cheese lasagna - layers of cheese mixture and lasagna noodles - with chopped vegetables in marinara sauce poured over it. Sorry, but no. This isn't a vegetable lasagna.

We usually go to eat at the restaurant and love the food and service, but this time we got takeout due to COVID and it was excellent. On time and delicious.

We visit Del Mar quite often from out of state...I was a student at San Diego State in the 1990s, and thus know the area very well. We have eaten at most restaurants in and around Del Mar. This was our first visit to this restaurant, November 12, 2020. First, the entire staff addressed the COVOD 19 requirements with class and efficiency. Second, the bathroom, etc., were very clean, Beyond the cleanliness amid a pandemic, the service was wonderful, the primary waitperson was funny and friendly, the secondary person was also friendly. My wife and I each had the frutti de mar...big shrimp, lots of mussels and clams, and linguini cooked well. Wonderful flavor. When the primary server learned it was our first visit, and that it was my birthday, we received a lovely piece of chocolate cake...on the house. Prices were reasonable for Del Mar...will go again next trip!!!

Really really good! We did take out and got two orders of the shrimp scampi. There are so many ways that take out shrimp scampi could go wrong. The doneness of the pasta and shrimp was perfect. I ordered online and requested curbside pickup. Called when I arrived, the food was 'hot out of the oven' and a lovely and courteous staffer delivered it to my car :-) Thank you, Trattoria, and everyone in service industries right now! Your work makes it possible for some of us to experience some normalcy. And this place will be a special treat long after we're back to 'normal' :-)

Overall excellent experience. We were greeted at the door with a temperature check and hand sanitizer on every table. Social distancing and masks were enforced. The outdoor patio with heat was a perfect atmosphere for sunset. We ordered three main dishes. The chicken Parmesan was the best we've ever had, coming from a family that orders chix parm at almost every Italian restaurant, that's a tall compliment! The GF penne arrabbiata was very tasty, and the butternut squash & scallop risotto cooked to perfection! They were well set with vegan and gluten free options for those of us with food allergies. And the service was very quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing night out!
Yesterday we had a phenomenal dinner thanks to Trattoria Ponte Vecchio! Everything we ordered was incredibly yummy. We had the Caprese Salad for an appetizer, chicken parmigiana, spaghetti bolognese, cannolis, and tiramisu. Absolutely perfect dinner. Hit the spot for everyone.

They did a great job with social distancing on their patio-they have constructed a wooden/plexiglass barrier between all the tables-very clean environment with a bottle of hand sanitizer at each table. Great service as always. Hope they bring back more vegan options as the pandemic lifts-they had a great menu previously for vegans. Awesome to be out and feel safe. And as always a beautiful view of the lagoon.

AMAZING food. Went as a party of 7, 2 of those were kids. We were looking for an Italian restaurant and I am so happy we chose to go here. Shrimp ravioli was perfect. My husband's lobster ravioli was just as good. Kids loved their spaghetti. Our waitress was on top of things, I asked for wine suggestions and both were great.

The appetizers were wonderful. Our fish, the sea bass catch of the day, was plated with an interesting assortment of grains and vegetables, but ultimately it lacked flavor. I will go again, but try something else next time.
Restaurant is right next to a busy street and we were on the patio due to COVID., so there was unavoidable street noise. Not the restaurants fault!! Noise wasn't too bad , but at times, it could be distracting. Otherwise, excellent Italian food!!
