I remember a time when Famous Dave's had decent bbq, sadly those days seem to be done. I ordered the founder's feast and I am going to break down each item. First, the ribs might have been from a rack of st. louis style ribs but they were definitely the short/less than meaty end of the rack which were overdone, didn't taste like they'd ever even been near smoke or a fire and most likely were par boiled. This goes for the chopped pork as well which without the sauce would have been flavorless as there seemed to be no seasoning and the pork was bone white with not even a hint of a smoke ring I would expect from bbq/smoked pork. The chicken was bone dry and flavorless as well save for the sauce. In fact the sauce was the only thing saving any of the meat meaning this was bad bbq. The only good parts? Dave's fries, the beans and the cornbread muffins and...again the sauce since it was the only flavor on the meat. I cannot speak to the service or the ambience as I ordered for delivery. Delivery was at least on time. I cannot recommend this place anymore.

First time here I found a bunch of feathers still attached to my wings they ended up giving me a discount on the meal oh well, but second time here was way better. I love their beans with pieces of chopped pork, it’s so sweet and juicy. I love pairing it with their corn bread muffin. Overall the food is very good (I wouldn’t recommend the brisket personally) service is mediocre. I like coming here every so often. ??

Food was horrible , the burgers bun was hard and dry! Prob the worst burger I've had in my life. But my wife's salmon was pretty good and the server was nice.

This establishment is in the same building as Johnny Carino's. It was confusing to me because I didn't know Famous Dave's had moved from the old location in the Downey Landing mall. Famous Dave's should have their name sign next to Johnny Carino's. There was only one menu available so I had to wait until the other customerordered.

Ordered in 10/21/23 online for pickup from the Downey location. The food was not bad. I ordered sides were baked beans and coleslaw. Instead I got mac'n'cheese and coleslaw also they did not give me a cornbread muffin. I drove all of the way back home to La Puente and made that discovery. I was too angry to call about it because I would have been insulting them. The upside was that fortunately I had a can of baked beans at home that saved my meal but I still missed the cornbread

I bought from the Dave's in downey. Was very disappointed when I got it home. The brisket was very tender but also very much over salted and not very flavorful other than that. Unfortunate because I had just had brisket from them at a picnic a couple of days before and it was outstanding. Apparently my friend that brought it to the picnic bought it at a different location. I believe The Long Beach location.
Had to pay $3.00 for the box. Had a to go order. Took 25 minutes. Ask server to give manager a note ref. the box charge. The note disappeared. As I was leaving I ask server where the note went, as I was surprised manager had not come to talk with me. He said he still had it and really didn't care. I am sure note never made it to the manager.

I placed an order for 2 rib plates and I tried to get the same sides for both plates instead of two different sides, but the online portal didn't allow me too. So I left a comment in the order instructions so that the staff could adjust the order and I left a tip to thank them, even though it's a pickup order. Well, it didn't seem they read the comment and I just gave a tip for nothing. Ribs were good though, not so much the soggy fries that I didn't want. Slightly disappointed for ~$90 order.

The ribs are delicious but that corn bread is unbelievable, we tried their platter that has a little bit of many things. You have to try it. If you come to this one in Downey you will not see any signs that it’s Dave’s because it’s inside of Carinos they only do take out. We were driving around for an extra 5 minutes looking for it but si try it the food is delicious.
