I love this place, people, food, drinks and dessert. Bonus is if you have EBT, you're in the game. But they stop making sandwiches at 7:30p.m. Other than that, it's all good.

There’s no customer service by the red headed woman who makes the sandwiches. I said hello, she replied with a “hello” as if I was bothering her and she was disappointed to see me. This isn’t the first time either.You can customize your sandwiches the way you like, and I did exactly that, but that sandwich was disappointing and extremely dry, even though I ordered mayo, mustard, etc.Just felt like it was old ingredients and it was made with absolutely no effort.Place used to be a go to of mine, but don’t know if this place will be top of mind anymore when I want a sandwich

The younger girl who was the cashier was very sweet. The older lady who was making the sandwiches wasn't sanitary at all. I watched her wear no gloves while making my sandwiches. I watched her run her fingers through her hair and continue to make the food, I watched her link her fingers and proceed to make the food. I was disgusted. Then she picked up her phone to answer a call with the same hands she was making my food with. Never once did she wash her hands between doing all of those things. I saw her put on gloves once on one hand once she was cutting the sandwich. Very unsanitary. On top of all of this I was missing cheese and bacon on my sandwich and many other things that I had circled on my paper. I won't be back. Not because of the missing items but because of the sanitation I was disgusted. You would think she would have been cautious considering you can see her making the sandwich.

Friendly service is offered but I was disappointed with the quality of food.I ordered 2 sandwiches (Italian and pastrami). The bread as stale and chewy. I understand it's a deli and not a 4 star restaurant but the food should be better quality. Biggest disappointment was when I saw them warming up the pastrami in the microwave in plain sight. A microwave has no business in a deli. Just my opinion ....

I was in this store on 8/4/23 and was about to place an order. There was a little red-headed woman behind the counter and a man came in and started carrying on and berating her. It was so hostile and upsetting that I left without ordering my food. It was very disturbing.

Was a very disappointing experience. All the pictures of the sandwhiches show pictures of them in nice bread rolls. I selected white bread thinking I would be getting the bread pictured, but apparently, white bread is "sliced white bread." Like, what? Lol. Who would ever want a meatball sandwhich on soggy, sliced, nasty white bread. Guess at the very bottom, you have to select French bread roll. I feel like they should specify it is sliced, white bread. Needless to say, it was gormet meat on cheap bread. Bread was soggy and thin in comparison. Went back again and got it on a french roll! Much better. (The pastrami, I didn't enjoy the meatballs at all the first time).

This is a hidden gem in Downey past all the craziness and loudness of the bars a block away. This little deli has tons of snacks and drink options. A lot of wines to choose from but most importantly they make the best sandwiches in town. They offer a variety of breads and cheeses and toppings. It's a classic deli with everything you'd expect a deli to offer. The man who usually helps us out was a bit rude or serious at first but slowly opened up to us and is super friendly now. It doesn't have any indoor seating but they do have a couple of small tables outside which aren't the fanciest but are cozy enough since it's in a quiet neighborhood. I didn't give it 5 stars only because the deli hours are a bit limited. They stop making sandwiches after 8pm which isn't the end of the world but I often find myself rushing over there to make it before then. As long as they're open, I'll continue coming back.
Got the Pastrami on a french roll. Bread was yumnmy, soft and fresh. Pastrami tho.... not the best IMO. It was ok.... Place is a Deli & Market as advertised. The fact that its a deli set up my expectations of the sandwich being awesome. Sandwich was dry with not a lot of meat. If you are a small family owned deli, I expect at least for then to promote their meat with higher higher ratio of bread/meat right?Guy tending deli was nice when I placed the order. Place was clean, well maintained and air-conditioned. Always a plus, give you an idea place is clean and food is fresh.

EBT accepted here, and the cold food tastes fresh and has good flavor. When I asked if my payment method was accepted, I was relieved to have my question answered in a respectful manner and to be treated as any other paying customer through the remainder of the transaction. Excellent variety, great service, and a welcoming feeling here. I will keep coming back.

Great place to grab a bite. The people and the food is great. You get a good deal too. Plus, you'll find other great food items. I highly recommend this place. I love their sandwiches.

I usually come here during lunch time to grab a sandwich. They have variety selection of sandwiches to chose from. Sometimes I'll chose from the sandwiches they already have made or I order ahead through Yelp. Great customer service! I last time ordered through Yelp and the employee called me right away because the selection of bread I chose wasn't available and they gave me different options. They were so kind and patient as well. Everything is always so organized and clean. It is like a liquor store so you can chose chips/snacks and a drink.
