The food was so disappointing and the service, one of the worst I've had. We had to ask for water, at least three times, and still our server forgot. We had to ask a different waitress. We were not even provided napkins or silverware. Like cmon! It wasn't even that busy. Now the food, we had high expectations, since the reviews seem pretty good. I ordered the charbroiled octopus, and it was so hard, with no flavor. Will never come back, service and food really needs improvement.

Came here on a Friday evening with my bestfriend. (We needed a drink) We walked up and were immediately greeted. It wasn't a busy night so we were offered Bar seating, indoor, or patio. We chose patio as long as we can get a heater. Our waiter PePe was very nice and explained items on the menu very well. (Bestie and I always refer back to yelp for pictures and reviews anyway) The restaurant was nice, artistic expression everywhere. Very Boho. I ordered the 2x1 Classic Margaritas on the happy hour menu. I usually change the tequila, but i wanted to try the drinks the way they make it since this was my first time, so house tequila it was. The drinks were soooo good! Wasn't the strongest (which is fine) but the mix was literally perfect. My Bestie got the TamarindSpell. Im not a big Tamarind nor Chili with my drink type of girl, but her drink was really really good. Very surprising. Lol i think it got a little overwhelming at the end but she really liked it for the most part. The chips and salsa came out around the same time, which the salsa was pretty flavorless to us. It tasted like flavorless blended stewed tomatoes. My bestfriend asked if they had a green salsa to go with her tacos, which tasted wayyy better with the chips. I ordered the GoberNader (3 shrimp tacos) also ordered the Langostinos. Both were extremely good. The Langostinos comes with the full head attached but cut in half. Flavor is similar to a crab boil. The cucumber salad is just cut cucumber, a couple of pickled onion, and hot sauce dabbed on top(not exactly a salad, but i like cucumber so i wasn't complaining). My tacos were really good, i didnt really need any salsa, but i die for guac on my tacos, so we eventually ordered guacamole. Which the guacamole wasn't bad, i thought it needed a little salt & maybe pepper. Bestie ordered the Kesabirria, she liked them but she definitely asked for the green salsa on the side. Overall, really good place. Will probably come back with the rest of our girlys. Give the drinks another run!

Really nice restaurant, outdoor patio is nice and they have heaters. A lot of dope art ALL throughout the place. Seated immediately, our waiter Pepe was nice. Started us off with chips and salsa, the salsa was literally just tomato and spices wasn't a huge fan. Later on they brought out some green habanero sauce it went way better with the chips! It was happy hr at the time we went so they have a 2 or 1 margarita deal, amazing. The classic margarita WAS SO GOOD, so smooth. Usually the house tequila is just okay but they did they thing with them margaritas! I got a tamarind spell cocktail, if you like chili/tajin YOU WILL LOVE THIS DRINK. It was so good and refreshing 10/10. I got the birria tacos, really good, definitely needed sauce over then the birria sauce though so I asked for a green sauce (habanero). My bestie got something that resembled a shrimp broil and then tacos. She enjoyed both. Can't wait to go back! Definitely recommend. /(Side-note: the restrooms could of been a lot cleaner, the toilet paper roll was literally on the floor in both stalls)

Drinks felt like in alcohol but tasty nonetheless. Great spot for dinner and drinks but not the best place for catching up with friends due to the loud music. Don't get me wrong, the music is poppin' and they played all my favorites but if you're looking for a quieter place, this ain't it. Also I loved the service. We were a party of three waiting on the third person to arrive at the bar, upon their arrival, the sever right away came with an extra chair. A nice gesture so that we wouldn't have to move. A pleasant experience!

It was an unfortunate dinner date on 2/10/24 For a Friday night Xecora in Downey was not very busy, we got seated within 5 minutes of arriving. However we were not greeted by our waiter until 20 minutes Once we ordered ... 30, 40, 45 minutes of just chips and salsa we were not offered water. Our drinks finally arrived, then after our waiter communicated that my order was ready but not my husband's. We asked to bring it out... then 15, 20, 30, 40 minutes go by and my husband has no dinner. I finished my dishes then his arrived, food was not worth the wait. Our waiter kept apologizing... the place is lovely the cocktails were amazing, but we will not go back.

Tried the birria tacos, thought they looked dry but they were really good, wish they came with sides. The tamarind spell drink was delicious! I'd go back just for that. Love love this place. First of all they are always so welcoming and friendly. Plus they serve free chips and salsa and the salsa is amazing! My favorite part is that they have vegan options! Recently tried their vegan ceviche and it's actually the best vegan ceviche I have ever had. The drinks are really amazing too, I was addicted to their lavender paloma for awhile, and my husband says their pineapple agua Fresca is the best he's ever had.

Service was good. Salsa was no great. No flavor and not fresh. We ordered Ceviche & it was DELICIOUS. Drinks- we ordered a Paloma and old fashion and both drinks had no alcohol and watered down. Overpriced cheap drinks. We will not be returning.

If you check in On Yelp , you get a free agua Fresca. I have never thought about visiting this establishment mainly because it's always so damn loud every time I pass by it. I'm running out of places to eat around here. Rdawg took me for a bite after his shift was over so around 3:30 PM. It is a weekday so it was nice and empty. Servers were very nice. The chicharrones de pulpo tacos sounded like a good idea, but I did not realize that it was a hard shell taco. I mean a really hard taco shell, and then the crunchiness of the chicharrón was way too much for me. I bit the inside of my cheek, but mainly because I was so hungry and I was eating too fast. Rdawg liked my tacos better than his shrimp tacos. Make sure to ask for spicy sauce. I think it was a habanero It was really good. I added the xecora fried rice along with the shrimp ceviche because like I said, I was so hungry! Those two items were pretty good. Will I come back, yes I will come back I wanna try their breakfast. Guava French toast sounds delicious.
