A hot summer day in Chicago doesn't tend to scream "birria tacos!" and yet I found myself eating at Chela's with a friend. The establishment looks small outside (there is definitely limited parking shared with a Subway sandwich shop) but there is a lot of seating. Super popular taco truck in Boyle Heights. Came here on a Sunday morning around 11am and there was already a long line. However the line moves quickly (took about 15 min to order), and then you wait for your number to be called (took about 30 min to get our food). There’s no public bathrooms available. While driving north bound on the I-5 decided to get off the road and look for some tacos so I took the Indian St exit in East Los and there they were right off the freeway at the a.m p.m. I'm glad I stop by cause the tacos here were bomb. The service was fast and friendly and they have a little seating area. I would highly recommend this taco stand if you're in the area.
