They used to be a lot better not to long ago. Their carne asada is dry and lacking flavor when you first taste it. Their burritos seem to taste better reheated than fresh these days.Their bean and cheese burrito is half the size and more expensive and taste worse than it used to. I understand inflation but don't still up the price if your lowering the quality and quantity.

We love this place. Food is great, reasonably priced, and the staff are always kind and easy to order with. We like it here so much we had them cater our kids birthday party and the rolled tacos were a hit. Our favorite dish is their big rolled tacos and their albóndigas!

We went to Alberts Mexican Food restaurant in El Cajon Rancho San Diego area last week. The food has always was fantastic. It always has a unique flavor. We got to sit in the bar since there was seating, which is unusual because this place is usually packed. The ambience is a sports bar Showing various sporting events on TVs throughout the bar and the services impeccable one of the few restaurants that still gives you free salsa and chips while you sip your drinks and prepare to place your order. I think this is why Albert has done so well at all his restaurants and continues to do so.I recommend the three that I've tried La Mesa, Lakeside and Rancho San Diego El Cajon locations. Especially the one in El Cajon Rancho, San Diego, since it does have a bar on the side for those like to watch sporting events and mingle with their friends.

I'll start by saying I've never been Lectured at my tableside while eating at a restaurant before....it all started when I asked to talk to the manager regarding issues with our order. With an elevated tone, the manager explained that it was our fault while ordering. Then she gave excuses for the employee working at the front being new.Needless to say, there are other restaurants ill be trying. The indelible memory being minimized and Lectured, and the manager didn't see anything wrong with it.

Rate 3.5 Haven't been here in a long time and thought I'd try it out again. I have mixed feelings as it's not consistent. Ordered some burritos. They were nice in size, but what matters is the flavor and quality of the food. I think it was average. Good but nothing extra special about it. The green sauce is good too.

I called in an order for Carne Asada fries, and the young woman told me 10 minutes which is great and normal. When I got there, the food was not ready and it was another 10 minutes to wait. Kind of confusing but the food looks OK. My kid thought this was a bit undercooked but she seemed happy.
This establishment will give you the wrong order and tell you they cannot refund or fix the order. Ordered tacos and received a wrap instead. Fashoo at your own risk. Would love to see this place shut down.If you look closely my quesadilla is leaking onto the lettuce wrap I got. Photo should tell it all.

Food is really good. Recommend getting the Cali Surf and Turf burrito. Big burrito that will make you full. The service is good and quick no more than 5 minutes. The place gives you that authentic Mexican style look and feel. Has decent seating if you plan to eat with family. Overall rating 7/10. Highly recommend to family and friends.
