I decided to give this place a try based on the reviews, and it's closer to me than where I normally go. I have to say I was not impressed. I ordered a hashbrown burrito, no ham, add beans, and it came out to just under 13 dollars. I should have gone to my usual Chuys off El Cajon Blvd for a breakfast burrito. This didn't have very much hashbrown in it at all, and the size was rather small for the cost as at my other spot, it's a big burrito for about the same price. The red sauce was ok, not the best flavor but better than not having any at all. I will most likely try something different if I give this place another shot and see if we can bump the stars up for the next visit. I like the small feel of this place, and the girl working the counter was super nice, and the cook was cool too. Hopefully, a carne asada burrito will be bigger. All I can do is wait and see.

The carne asada fries were decent. The Salsa roja and Verde were good, they give you a bag of hot carrots with your order. My only complaint is hardly any carne asada. They only used about 1/2 cup IF EVEN THAT MUCH. As far as atmosphere: I love the Mexican artwork and colors on the wall and how they made great use out of a small eating area. Keep in mind I know how to cook so I'm not easy to please. Like I said my only beef (no pun intended) was not enough carne asada. I'll still try their elote fries on good Friday.Parking: I suggest turning left onto Orange St when leaving. If you value your life, don't even try to turn left out of there onto Washington. It pays to drive a mile out of the way and cut your chances of being in an accident.

I have ordered from here many times, and it is always amazing! Highly recommend the chicken chipotle burrito, tequila lime burrito, or anything really.

No atmosphere, but that’s not what this place is about. Just a great hole in the wall with good, tasty Mexican food. For vegetarians you can build a burrito to your specifications and they do one dish which is all vegetarian (don’t know what it’s called but it’s tasty). Give it a shot, just be aware of the surroundings. It’s all in and out there.Vegetarian options: Only a few vegetarian options, mainly by you specifying what you want and build your own. Otherwise only 1 actual veggie dish.Parking: Always some parking spots.

I just discovered the California Shrimp Burrito and it was amazing. Their food is always fresh and delicious. The employees are very friendly and the restaurant is clean and bright. Best Mexican food in East County. Definitely worth a try you won’t regret it!!!

Food is bland. I got a wet surf and turf. The sauce they coat it with was tasteless and bland. They also forgot to add the turf. My husband went all the way from sdsu back to El Cajon to get money back and return the food.

Food plate comes with a fountain drink, however, not an agua fresca (I.e horchata). Which is what makes a Mexican dish complete. Carne asada is not the best seasoned wise.

i wanted to love this place because i had high hopes from the reviews but it fell short for me personally.. i got a fish taco and it wasn't crispy bummer :( .. i also got a carnitas taco and it was flavorless and dry.. it was the first and last time for me.

My new favorite taco shop! I ordered adobada tacos. Omg, I'm so satisfied! The flavor of that meat is on point. Sooo gooood. The service was great too. Very polite and accommodating.

California Burrito was delicious. The carne was plentiful with tasty seasoning along with a good ratio of fries.
