Go elsewhere for food and you are welcome for the notice. Also they don't respond at all to reviews. They just don't care. You did great before today. I guess first time customers must get extra or something lol. Btw u served me 14 PIECES on a 16 piece purchase and the portions were reduced by a third. You ripped us off plain and simple, so next time we will keep our money and go someplace ethical. Last time was my first time and this time is definitely my last. Rediculous on your part. Bye bye. Go elsewhere. They have no consistency and apparently can't count either ?

I normally don’t post reviews but we tried Tabu Sushi in Rancho San Diego for the first time and it was awful. We went to the one in Santee several years ago and were underwhelmed, but wanted sushi and were in the area of this location. The outside of the restaurant was dirty, no signs or stickers on the door, so at first it appeared closed, and multiple unhoused people were hanging around. The inside of the restaurant was okay but the men’s restroom was disgusting. My spicy shrimp ramen was tasteless, had no spice, 2-3 shrimp pieces, a few pieces of unidentifiable vegetables and some of the noodles were clumped together. They brought out my ramen with no utensil to eat it with and then completely forgot my husband’s food. After 10 minutes, I nicely asked them to check on it and they brought it 5-10 minutes later, but the rice was cold. A table next to us complained that there soda was flat. Between the price, atmosphere and taste, we will not return.

They now use plastic forks if you chose to use one & stopped excepting restaurant gift cards! They should at least put a notification on their front door. We were caught off guard. Probably would not of ate there if we had known. Won't go back!

I know its a sushi place but decided to get some miso ramen noodles for me and the kids. Noodles was stuck together like one noodle in broth and broth taste like water. Even the kids said.. "mom noodles taste like nothing". Yup it taste like nothing!

I'm a BIG sushi lover and I was impressed by how delicious the food was here!! Everything was delicious from the sushi rolls to the miso soup. Order the lemon cilantro rolls!!! They were mind blowing good! Place is kind of small but there were people in and out. It's clean and plenty of parking. No loud music thankfully! They were showing a basketball game. People were eating, chatting, watching the game and drinking their saki. Very friendly service. Very good vibe. Plenty of parking. I will be BACK!!

Tabu is a great sushi place variety of different selections. We've tried a lot of roles and they are all delicious, fast easy and friendly service.

Great sushi and fresh sashimi are offered for reasonable prices. I tried the Ceviche roll that had no rice in it and it was very good. I did not like their way of paying the bill before I got to see the receipt. The receipt was printed optionally after paying. The place is too noisy as well. I don't know, their walls do not absorb the sound, they reflect it. But their sushi is good and worth trying at least to order it to go

I was recommended to come to this place and for a first time customer I was disgusted! The woman on the phone had recommended this roll to me and I decided to try it and asked for no cream cheese due to my allergies, I picked up one piece and as soon as I did I noticed there was cream cheese and a surprise to my eyes, there was a long strand of hair IN the roll. Absolutely horrendous!! Never again.

The outside does not look inviting but it’s a great restaurant. The sushi is really tasty, my server was super nice and it’s a really pretty place inside.

The food is great but with each visit the service has gotten increasingly worse. With this last visit. me and my wife walk in and are told to sit where ever. When we choice our spot it took a while to get drinks. No one ended up taking our order not sure why. We ended up leaving.

This will be my last time at Tabu. I gave them more chances than they deserved. I called in to place a to go order. I repeated myself that I did not want wasabi or ginger on the plate due to my son's allergies. My son went to pay. When he came back out with the food I noticed the sushi box was smashed in the bottom of the bag with two heavy teriyaki bowls on top and two salads on top of that. My order total was 70 dollars you couldn't spear two bags so that my food wouldn't get destroyed? I should have known by the way my food was packaged that the order would also be wrong. Long story short the sushi was swimming in wasabi and ginger by the time we got to it from the bottom of the bag. All the girl could tell me was it wasn't her fault because she wrote it in the notes. Thats fine, but you bagged my items and could have checked it. Not everyone has time to wait for you to remake the food. What you should have offered me was my money back for the sushi. The food and quality has also went down drastically. We didn't enjoy anything we ordered. The rice was mushy and chicken lacked flavor. Sushi did not taste fresh either. Save yourself the time and drive a little further to Bamboo in La Mesa.

They are awful. Food isn't what it used to be. There portions are much smaller and prices are too high. Customer service is not good. They could use some better management skills it looks like they higher or put anyone in charge. It also looks like their passion for customers has gone away. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone !

I have been coming to Tabu for 20 years, and I got to say they are going downhill and they should not be in business. Their service is horrible.Their so called management is a joke. Their prices have gone up ridiculously high. There teriyaki bowls used to be $11- $15 dollars now they are $18-$23 smaller portions they use too much sauce so you can't tell there's hardly any meat. It's a shame they are even in business. The sushi isn't the same quality anymore. If a business has to cut corners in order to stay open Please just shut your doors! It isn't fair for paying customers to experience this.
