Had The Uprising. Great crust, not enough cheese?. (The red sauce was overwhelming). Will try the pepperoni next time.

Our kids and I love this pizza. We first tried it. I just looked them up right now specifically because I was craving it and would love some asap!

NON EXISTANT!!! Drove all the way to the address to find it nowhere. Super hungry and in a rush to go to the beach, now I have to find another vegan pizza place

While I have not been to Uprising Pizza's permanent location, I am fortunate enough to have enjoyed their pizza at Pacific Beach Farmer's Market and various vegan pop-ups. I can confidently say that this is some of the best vegan pizza I have tried. I typically order either the Mushroom Madness or The Uprising. Both are equally delicious and are perfectly completed with the house-made ranch and/or garlic sauce. Ricky Pesto, the Fall/Winter special, is my absolute FAVORITE! While I am looking forward to the Summer, I am also counting down the days until this pie is featured again!

All vegan pizza that does not compromise on taste. Their crust and dipping sauce is particular is so. dang. good. They also have monthly specials of really fun flavors for their pizza. Unfortunately they don't appear to have a storefront just yet, so you have to follow them on Instagram to see where they're popping up.

Uprising Pizza is cooking up some of THE BEST pizza in the county. Their pies are creative, incredibly delicious, and they also happen to be 100% vegan.I first found out about Uprising Pizza about a year ago through one of those San Diego Eater lists of best pizzas in the area and quickly started following them to find out where they'd pop up next. Lucky for me, Uprising was at the time popping up nearby at Pour House Brewing in North Park. From the first time we took a bite, my husband and I were both blown away by the flavor: a chewy yet light and airy sourdough crust, a healthy smear of flavorful sauce, and delectable homemade toppings like pepperoni, meatballs, and 'nduja -- all vegan! Owner and pizzaiolo Ryan was super cool and told us how he creates the different toppings from scratch as well as how he slow ferments the pizza dough to create the perfect crust.Since then, we've had countless pies from Uprising. While they're no longer at Poor House, they now pop up at the North Park farmer's market every Thursday. If you're headed there, try to place an order as early as possible or be ready to wait for a bit since their pizzas are very popular. I typically place my order and then walk around the market until my pizzas are ready. Uprising also pops up at other locations so check out their Instagram for the latest info. Some of my favorite pizzas from Uprising include the Ripper, an incredible flavor combination of winter squash, cheese, and 'nduja, and the Smasher, a phenomenal pie with red sauce, pesto, beyond meat sausage crumble. The Meaty Combo is fantastic, too!Uprising recently added pan pizzas to their offerings, but you have to pre-order them and pick up is on Sundays in El Cajon. I look forward to trying one very soon.It doesn't matter if you're vegan, plant-based, meat-based, or whatever -- you'll enjoy every bite of these awesome pies!

I stopped by a friend's house and she decided we could stop by to pick up some pizza at the North Park location. It was already kind of late and they were still open. We picked up our order as it was already done and we were able to pay with either cash or Venmo which sucked because I didn't have either one so I felt a bit bummed. Once we drove back and had that pizza....daaaaaang! I'm absolutely, positively and undoubtedly going back to this place, EVERYTHING we had was great; the pizza, the sourdough bread, the dessert....just awesome. But I'll make sure to bring some cash this time around ;)

Yum!! I'm not vegan, but I like Rollin' Roots and I saw that Uprising sometimes does a pop up in the same parking lot. I ordered on Instagram by sending over a DM and this was smart because it was busy when I arrived. Venmo'd my $25 over and was on my way. Mushroom madness: white garlic sauce, cheese, roasted oyster mushrooms, truffle oil, green onion. SO good!! Rebel: buffalo slice, potato, cheese, green onion, ranch. Also totally delicious. The dough is delicious and their menu has a lot of interesting choices. I was stuffed after eating 3 slices so I would say the portions are good for the price. I don't think I've ever had vegan cheese or vegan ranch prior to today, but everything was delicious and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference from items with dairy. Highly recommend this truck and also HIGHLY recommend ordering in advance.

Wow, I tried their pizza without knowing it was vegan and I thought it was better than any other pizza I have had. The green goddess was my favorite and I also recommend the smasher. You definitely need to check them out, before they get big and are constantly sold out.

Uprising Pizza is soooo good. I'm not vegan and I would easily choose to eat Uprising Pizza to settle my pizza craving because the flavors are so right and the sourdough is amazing. I've had the Green Goddess (my go-to), Piña Supreme, and The Uprising. The Uprising is a simpler pie but it's still a great and satisfying. I was surprised! I think they just know how to get their ingredients right. Before their pop-ups (which I don't know if they'll sell it again) I also did preorder their deep dish pizzas and MAN! Those are my absolute favorite, it had the same toppings as their individual pies. If they ever come back, MUST HAVE!!! THICK sourdough crust of like an inch or so and the best pizza I've ever had. Heaven made. Wow. Can't wait to hit up more pop-ups. Keep it up!

OMG VEGAN PIZZA So I'm not vegan but a lot of people in my life are so we are always on the hunt for a great vegan spot! We have tried a lot of places and even pop ups and sometimes the food is great and other times it's rather bland. BUT not uprising pizza. There food is always soooooo delicious, I've tried every pizza on the menu now and I have to say my favorites are the green goddess, the rebel, and the new special mushroom madness. It's seriously the best pizza I have ever had (vegan and non vegan). The flavors explode in your mouth and it's just wonderful. They only take cash or Venmo so be sure to have either of those! This is not a deal breaker for me since businesses are going through a rough time right now. If you're even considering uprising pizza just do it! They aren't as well known and need/deserve all the business they can get!!

Finding a 100% vegan pizza place -- especially a 100% vegan pizza place in San Diego -- is a difficult if not impossible quest. While some pizza places offer maybe one vegan option (usually no cheese), it's really hard to track down great vegan pizza with lots of different options. Enter Uprising Pizza -- a 100% vegan pizza place with NO compromises. With COVID, Uprising has lately been doing pop ups at different locations around San Diego -- today we found them next to the Rollin Roots vegan food truck parked in Kearny Mesa near In-N-Out. They're no longer in a fixed location in El Cajon. Uprising posts updates regularly on Instagram ( instagram.com/uprisingpi… ) and I decided to DM them to order 4 pizzas in advance. That turned out to be a supersmart move because there was quite a crowd in line ordering their Rollin Roots food and pizzas from Uprising. I ordered two Meaty Combos, a Green Goddess, and The Rebel. They currently offer three other options, which we'll try next time: The Uprising, The Ripper, and Piña Supreme. These were by FAR the VERY BEST vegan pizzas I've ever had. EVER. To start, the dough (sourdough, made fresh every day) is AMAZING -- really, really good -- and the toppings were very generous and tasty. GREAT flavor combinations. My wife asked me which one I liked best and I really had a hard time picking just one. Loved them all. Even my son who is not vegan loved his pizza. Again, Uprising makes a no-comprises pie -- vegan or not you'll love it. An easy 5 stars! We're going to be regulars from now on!
