We were here at lunch time around 12:15 pm. There were so many people already and we had to wait a bit. We were here to try the dim sum menu. We ordered a couple items. All of them are delicious and they served the table very quickly. We were full and didn't get to try the desserts. Maybe next time.

I basically went down the list and got everything dim sum-wise. Honestly, great food and fast service. I feel like you can't go wrong with any dishes. That being said, their rice rolls and stir fry noodles (aka the XO sauce one) are so on point. Can be a weird rush during brunch hours because there's a lot of people and you write your names down.I think if you live in EG it's probably one of the better options due to closeness. I personally like ABC bakery but the quality is comparable that I don't drive there as often as I used to.

The food is good. But don't be surprised...a large order of dimsum is 4 pieces...yes you heard it right 4 pieces. So I wonder what the small and medium order look like ?.Service...don't even look for one.At least your food is cooked LOL.Chinese all business style.

Joy City in Elk Grove has recently changed ownership. They have dim sum now and the kitchen items are much better than before.I was here twice for dinner in the last week. I haven't tried their dim sum yet. So this review is mainly for their kitchen dishes and services.I received a nice greeting on both visits and was seated right away without waiting. The dining room is pretty much the same as before. They didn't have a major remodel after the new management. The food is much better than before. I loved the Braised Sliced Pork Belly with Preserved Mustard Vegetables the best on my first visit and a few more dishes. The Pork Stomach with Black Pepper, Gingko, Bean Curd Skim Soup is almost remarkable. I ordered on my 2nd visit too!I like their food. I'm glad we have one more excellent Chinese restaurant in my hometown. Most choices are better. The parking lot is safe and easy to get a parking space near the restaurant. I'm sure I will come more often now!

Their Dim sum dishes tasted authentic Cantonese. Pineapple buns and egg tarts baked perfectly. Steamed chicken feet, salt and pepper squid ? also were very good. We will definitely visit this place again.

Oh what a pleasant surprise to find a small fabulous Dim Sum restaurant around the corner from where I work. I knew I was in for a treat when I stepped in - for those caucasians in the know…there were lots of local and regulars digging in to steaming fresh dim sums. I was efficiently sat down and served tea and quickly and gleefully ordered my favorites from the menu…the shrimp chive dumplings, soup dumplings, the beef balls, chicken feet, har how and shu mai…ok that was actually over two lunches. Yum yum yum! For me the restaurant is perfectly named….what a gem.

Delicious dim sum, authentic and reasonably priced! A small place and most of the time full capacity bc they serve good food. Servers should SMILE a little other than that it’s ALL GOOD!Try the Bean curd skin roll; Fried pork dumpling; Baked BBQ pork bun; Blk bean pork ribs (a little tough but tasty); Shu mai and custard tartAnother Dim Sum restaurant discovery today…yooohoo!!!

We ordered chicken feet, Hong Kong style fish porridge, fried ribs, steamed chicken and steamed Chinese broccoli. The chicken feet tasted delicious, the skin and tendon came right off the bone. The porridge was very filling and came with thinly sliced ginger paired with generous amounts of fish. The deep fried ribs were just too salty for my taste. The broccoli tasted good, but a little heavy on the oil which is drizzled on after steaming.

Dim Sum is good?

There was a waitress in this store who was about 50 years old. Her service attitude was very poor. She was also very uneducated and rude. She chased customers away before we finished eating. This made my friend and I very unhappy. I don’t want to argue with such an incompetent person. Here’s a reminder to all my friends.

Chow Mein was literally sitting in a puddle of oil. Ordered vegetable fried rice and got home with chicken fried rice -sub egg. Flavor of food was actually pleasant but the grease ruined the meal. Will not be back.

It was first time ordering from Joy City so I'm just speaking from my experience. Went in to order out, was greeted by a friendly woman who handed me a menu. First impression good. When I arrived no other customers were there not until I was seated. Nice clean space. Not a lot of wiggle room for large parties. Ordered the Crab Meat w/ Fish Maw Soup, Tofu w/ Mixed Vegetables, Fish Fillet w/ Cream Corn, and Potstickers for a total of $46.80 + $4.10 Tax + Tip. Love the Potstickers, the soup needs flavor, veggies are good but the tofu was not to my liking. For me they were a little over fried. The Fish Fillet w/ Cream Corn was good.
