What happened to this place? I have been going here since 2002 the quality and quantity have changed drastically. They used to have a large styrofoam container for a regular order like 10” now it shrank to 8”, before their cabbage was overflowing from the box, now you have to dig in to the bottom of the box to find a very small portion. The rice, wow the rice, from a big 6# scoop to 4# scoop. The serving of Macaroni salad also decreased. This is after they raised the price of all of their items after CoVid and it steadily kept increasing while the portion of the sides and to go box are decreasing. However, two items remained unchanged: the portion of the protein and the taste of the food is still awesome. I am mildly disappointed.

The food here is amazing, the Katsu always has the right crisp. However I have an issue with the bathrooms. The bathroom is really dirty, the water in the toilet was brown and filled to the top. It’s as if the workers don’t care at all about the bathroom here. It made me lose my appetite a little, but that’s my only concern. I also dislike how service can be slow sometimes but it’s not a major problem.

My go-to for when I'm in the mood for Hawaii bbq. I have their app and use for points so I can keep coming back too. I usually order the bbq chicken or the short ribs because they're both just so good. My favorite part is the prices and portions are super generous. I'm usually able to split one order into 2-3 meals so for me it's a pretty good deal. I tend to opt for the two scoops of macaroni salad instead of the mix since their macaroni is so good and I already have rice at home. It gives you more to enjoy later. It's also located in a convenient plaza. Line is too long or the wait is too much? Just go next door into the stores for a walk while you wait for your order to be completed. One of my favorite places to treat myself because of its flavors, neighboring stores, large portions, and affordable prices.

No frills hawaiian bbq spot. Cant go wrong with the bbq chicken plate w mac salad and white rice. Ask for teriyaki dipping sauce on the side. Katsu is just standard imo. Spam musubi is standard, too, but still a great snack or addition to your meal.

Honestly, this is not the place to go if you are into the ambiance aspect of a restaurant. This is one the smaller restaurants that you would run into in the middle of a business strip mall. Once you are able to move past the curb appeal, you step inside. Small tables, spaced out as best as they can, music is playing, but you can't hear it over the sizzling of food frying in the back, and the workers shouting out order and order numbers. Now, if you can get past all of that. The food is the REAL reason why you come here. I have been here twice, but the food is made to order. I get the combination plate (chicken catsu & BBQ chicken) and a side order of lumpia. The catsu is crispy on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. It comes with a dip sauce. It is like...a combination of hot sauce with another type of sauce that I cannot figure out. The bbq chicken is juicy as can be. I love them both. Two scoops of white rice with macaroni salad. Their macaroni salad is the best I have had at any Hawaiian BBQ spot. Ratings? I would give this spot a 4.5 stars, but we can't do halves so...

Kalua pork dish is mostly cabbage, but flavor is good. If you want dinner from here, order ahead. The staff is so busy filling phone / internet orders, the wait is ridiculous if you walk in. We've been here 4 times for spur of the moment dinner, and waited at least 30 minutes each time.

We had a craving for some Hawaiian food more directly we had a craving for some katsu. So we decided to head to our L&L near us to grab some chicken katsu. We've never been to this location before but when we got there it was PACKED and rightfully so. We ordered our food and got it within 10-15 minutes which was amazing for how many people were there! The food was so amazing! Not just the chicken but the rice and the macaroni salad was so fresh. It was just hitting all the right points! Will definitely come back again!!!

(I am not writing this review as a joke or messaging, despite how it sounds.)I crave the mac salad. It's basic flavouring but luxurious in texture, creamy, and generously satisfying. They don't overcook the pasta and the shells are slightly different. I haven't modified it yet, but that's probably going to happen. If you can't use good fast food as a layer in a weird craving bowl then what good are you to society? They take cards but you should cash and carry, if you can. They are always busy but also always friendly, clean, and reasonably fast - in my experience.

First off, L&L is a staple spot for me. I can't even count the amount of times I've been to L&L. This time around I got a BBQ Beef plate. As always it's 2 scoops of rice your mac salad and your protein. This is the only place where I actually like mac salad‍ The only complaint I have is I think their scoops of rice & Mac may be getting smaller than in the past. Overall, prices are super solid $13 for this plate and it's definitely more food than you can eat in one sitting.

Came back from Maui and had a mad craving for plate lunch macaroni salad! I've lived in Elk Grove 10 years and I've never gone in here, don't ask me why?! The food is delicious, super fairly priced and while it doesn't taste quite exactly like being on the island, it's pretty damn close.... But enough to kick the craving. I'll be back to try more dishes for sure.
