Not a fan of this place. Service is great. But the quality of the drinks is too reliant on just being sweet. The boba was not fresh. The drinks were very run of the mill find it at any boba place type. I've had the best so I compare all to that scale. If you just want a sweet drink it fills the spot but if whenever I buy expensive drinks I look for quality. Actually like going through these to see who not to listen to their advice for quality boba places. lol. To each his own though and wish them nothing but success.

Black milk tea has basically no flavor, boba tastes kinda strange but has good texture. Overall tastes like a mediocre grocery store tea packet that was under brewed. But if you like a really mild milk tea flavor then go for it.

First time hitting this spot and O M G, it's pretty darn good. Service was nice and place was warm and cozy. I don't usually like strawberry drinks but I took a chance on the strawberry 2.0 snow. Let me tell you, it's so good! My boyfriend got the mango passionfruit green tea and it was the right balance of the tea and fruit flavors. The only two complaints I have are; 1. I ordered boba with my drink and it came in the cup warm. Kind of left a weird taste in my mouth especially with the strawberry drink and foam at the top. 2. I love the matte finishing touch on the cup as it makes the cups more sturdy, BUT! The cup narrows its way down to the bottom so the boba took majority of the room vs the drink. Will definitely return when I'm back in Elk Grove but no boba/toppings for me.

They now offer a food menu including chicken bites and french fries! The sweet and sour sauce makes it so much more tastier and with every bite it's sweet and savory. Okinawa milk tea my fav :)

It's milk tea, but it tastes like milk water* no tea flavor. Will not recommend this beverage store.

I ordered a strawberry milk tea but when I got it, it looked like a smoothie. When I asked them the staff said that's how it's made. However, they said it politely so a positive out of it was their customer service was friendly. The baristas are just following the recipe

I ordered taro pudding smoothie, with boba and 30% sweetness.Usually I get too sweet drinks in other places but here they really reduced the sweetness as I liked!Pudding was good, boba was chewy and not sweetened, and taro smoothie was very tasty!Staffs were polite and kind too.The shop inside was clean and cosy.I will come back and try different drinks again!

Strawberry milk tea with a scoop of vanilla ice cream at the bottom is the best thing I ever tasted in my life ?

Stopped into visit Rare Tea after attending a tea event. I wasn't hyped up on caffeine but I had a serious craving for boba! I have bookmarked this location for over a year now and I'm just now able to visit. I know they have one other location in downtown. This EG location is next to a "pet hospital" but they are in the Bel Air shopping center and a Golden 1 CU is nearby as well. Outside looks huge but inside is small but not that small. Menu appears simple and they also have a "secret menu" for customers to check out. Ordered the strawberry "milk tea" but I think they should rename this. If it weren't for the cashier, I wouldn't have known that this drink is more like a slushie smoothie. I was slightly bummed that it wasn't a milk tea per se but I still stuck with my order. It also comes with boba! My drink was pretty sweet and I probably should have remembered to customize the sweetness level but it was still very good and do recommend it. Also saw that they have an Earl Grey Tea, so I'll have to come in next time to try that.Interior is clean and looks like your average standard boba milk tea place. There are tables to sit and a standing bar area. You can also order ahead for pick up and/or stay awhile to hang with friends.

I got the mango cheese foam slush with boba and the pearls tasted old or not cooked right and the actual drink tasted like rotten cheese. I returned it and got Thai tea and it was not great. The boba was still bad. My boyfriend got taro and it had no flavor and the jelly was bland too. Plus sorta overpriced. Wouldn't recommend at all

I'm not certain if maybe I am just too used to drinks down in SoCal or around the Bay Area, but I was visiting some friends who live in Elk Grove and decided to get some drinks here. Sadly, I was quite disappointed with the drinks, and since they were quite pricey (about $7 each +$1 for non-dairy options), I was expecting better drinks. I ordered their popular matcha & strawberry drink, and my friends ordered other drinks. Unfortunately, none of us liked what we got. The tapioca pearls was pretty hard, and the drinks tasted like they were watered down. I've ordered from RareTea before down in San Mateo and I definitely remember having a pleasant experience at that location with their drinks.

Maybe I'm just used to the Bay Area boba milk teas... I was expecting RareTea to be better because of the reviews. Each drink cost about $6.50, which is a dollar more than what is sold in the Bay. I ordered an oolong milk tea with boba, my usual go-to if it's my first time there. SO ordered their black tea with boba and we grabbed their taro milk tea with boba for the parents. My drink was quite bitter for 30% sweetness. This is usually the sweetness I get at other boba spots. The boba was almost flavorless which was also a letdown. The black tea that my SO ordered wasn't too bad. Just ordinary. Overall, felt the place was overpriced for what I got. What a bummer.
