We ordered the miso ramen for the kids. They love the ramen so much that I even forgot to take photos of ramen. The tofu and fried chicken are very yummy. I ordered chicken Katsu Don for myself and I like it too. Will come back again.

I had the Niku udon and gyoza during my last visit. Udon serving size was appropriate but the taste was a bit too sweet for me. I didn’t have to wait long for my orders.I’ll stick with their ramen dishes next time. Come early in the evening as they could get crowded. Staff were friendly and quick.Parking: There are EV chargers.

This place deserves a Michelin star . Service everyone is extremely friendly and so fast in seating you and taking orders . Their ramen is beyond amazing , broth, noodles and all it’s really one of the best I have ever had . Always so consistent . Highly recommend. Deserves 10

Such yummy food! I don't go to ramen restaurants often so I didn't expect much going to Tanuki for dinner, but I was very pleasantly surprised with how good the food and service was! Our food came out quickly and everyone there were super friendly. I got the curry shrimp tempura don and it was so flavorful. We'll definitely be back!

This has got to be one of the best ramen places I've been to.. I live in the bay and hands down I'm glad I stumbled upon this place while I was in town. It beats anything I tried in the bay. I love how they have yakitori and ramen so best of both worlds.I went here Christmas Eve glad to know they were open. Not busy and very nice and friendly service and food came out quick! I ordered the chicken heart yakitori (salt) and it was so good, I wanted more! I also ordered the R3 spicy ramen,Not that spicy but you can add more spice with the chili oil they give you. So flavorful with the bbq pork belly which I was iffy about since I didn't know how the bbq would taste but it made the ramen 10x better and I think that's why I feel this place is my top rated ramen spot I've ever been to, the meat is just more elevated! Finished my meal in minutes! Will definitely be coming back to try other yakitori and get that spicy ramen again! Highly recommend !

I ordered the Black Mayu Tonkatsu Ramen. It looked really good! The presentation was great as well as the speedy service. The broth had good flavor, but it was a bit too salty for me, and the BBQ Pork Belly was dry. The noodles and egg were good. Sadly, overall, my expectations weren't met. I'm not sure if I'd go there again for ramen with so many other ramen places in the Sacramento area.

We were heading to Nugget Grocery store when we noticed Tanuki Izakaya & Ramen Restaurant. We decided to give this a try before grocery shopping. OMGOODNESS!! We should have came here sooner!! As we entered the front door, a very nice lady greeted us with a big smile!! She found us a table and gave us menus. She came back to check in on us. She was so patient with us and answered all questions with a smile. We ordered a pot of hot tea. It came in a beautiful hot tea pot. Tasty tea on a cold rainy day! I ordered the Black Mayu Tonkotsu Ramen soup. It was delicious!! Pork broth with a toasted garlic oil and bbq pork belly. It also had cabbage, onions, soft boiled eggs, and ginger fungus. My friend ordered the Una Don dish. It is grilled unagi ( eel ) over rice and sauce. I was told it was fantastic! We shared the Vegetable Tempura!! It was also very tasty!!Overall, we enjoyed our warm welcoming experience!! We enjoyed our meal with a great conversation. We were checked in on with a smile. The inside was very clean and beautiful. This place has been added to our go to place list.

Came here on a later Sunday afternoon, space is smaller but it really does feel like an izakaya! They have a menu which consists mostly of ramen and different rice dishes, but there are a few specials like my soba noodles. There is also a yakitori menu that says is available only for dine-in dinner but you can order it on all day weekends too, which is nice! I ordered the soba with tempura and 1 ika (squid leg with salt) yakitori to try it out. I think they do fried foods very well! The tempura was fresh and crispy - exactly what I wanted from tempura and the soba was a nice complement. A few reasons why I knocked down a star: The ika smelled a bit more fishy than I'm used to from a yakitori but the taste was fine. Additionally I always like to order appetizers, but I felt like the appetizers were pretty expensive and sometimes cost as much as an entree. I would have loved to have the agedashi tofu but 11$ is wild to me when I expect it to be around 5-8$Overall I would come back here for the tempura and other fried goodies~

Small/quiet restaurant next to Nugget. I came around 5:30 PM on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy at all. I was greeted & seated right away and my server was really nice. I got the raw oysters which I believe were apart of their Specials Menu. Usually when I eat raw oysters, I only like the little ones. These were huge, but I didn't mind because the sauce that they put on them was really good! I also got the tempura udon which I loveddd! I will definitely be back.
