Great pizza, and I really I hate to give them a 3 star review but the hours online and on yelp do not reflect their hours of actual business. Every time I call, no one answers. Every time I try to go in person, they are closed. I go at the times they say they're open and they never are ! Is this place closed forever ?!?

I was blown away by this restaurant! This is the definition of a hidden gem, and I can't believe I had never heard of it before tonight.Beautiful pizza, beautiful wine, and amazing service. Do yourself a favor and try Pizza@Portafoglio yourself! You absolutely will not regret it =)

Place made it through covid, should give you a little hint. Talk to the owner he opened up right before the pandemic hit. Super nice guy and hospitable. Made several suggestions to me and my boys we appreciate it all of them. Have been back several times.

Authentic Italian pizza! Sooo good! I don't think there is a better authentic Italian pizza place in San Diego and I'm so happy it's right here in Encinitas. I haven't had pizza like this since I was in Italy. It's absolutely delicious. I will come back and try other dishes. As others mentioned the owner is Italian with the accent and all. Can't wait to come back. (Note the weekday hours start at noon). Grazie!

This place is amazing! The pizza was delicious, as well as the arugula salad. My brother and I used to live in Italy for years and we are so happy to find such amazing Italian pizza close by. Cannot wait to come back here again. Filippo, the owner, was super nice and made sure we had a great experience. Couldn’t recommend enough!

This was a great find! The pizza dough and toppings were so fresh! Our arugula salad was excellent and tasty. Tiramisu was perfect. I liked it so much on Wednesday that I came back with another friend on Friday! :-) Soexcited to have found a fairly priced fresh Italian restaurant in Encinitas. FINALLY!

We got two pizzas for takeout - both were delicious!!This place is VERY Italian haha! The workers have thick accents, they play Italian music, and the oven is even tiled with colors of the Italian flag. Loved it!

This place is a hidden gem. If you're a pizza or Italian food snob like me, and you need REAL authentic Italian food, this is your place. The owner is a sweet heart, and you feel like family when you're here. Did I say the food is amazing?!? It is!! The pizza dough doesn't make you feel bloated and nasty after. Just come try it, you'll be glad you did.
The pizza is unique and awesome. We just moved to Encintas and really enjoy this find. And it is definitely a find with a very friendly owner, and an easy going Italian atmosphere. This is not a fancy or expensive restaurant. Just a great fun atmosphere to have good food, beer, and wine. This is the second time in two weeks we have been here and will definitely be back.

First time here tonight. Looking for authentic Italian in Carlsbad. I'm a Yelper so started the search. Place came with 4.5 stars. From the start, nice experience. Greeted by server/host with Italian accent. Saw the imported pizza furnace imported from Italy. Decided to try a tasters selection as I call it. Got starter Capreese Excellent. Next recommendation on wine. Very nice. Main course. Meat pizza, had that burnt Italy flavor. 8.5 of 10. Nice crust. Lasagna very tasty pasta and sauce. Very hot bowl but bit luke warm in middle. Outside sizzling. Completely heat next time 7.5 of 10. Meatballs 3 pack for $12. Great deal and some of the best I've eaten. Solid and no fluff fillers. 11 out of 10. Lol. So good! Totally recommend this place. Back soon. Waiter also spoke Italian when there.

Outstanding! Best pizza! The ham on our pizza was amazing. Mozzarella salad was so fresh and flavorful. Felt wait staff was attentive but was still learning the menu.
