Update 4/20/24Still very "Hit & Miss". Last Saturday my Cheese Enchiladas were Perfection. This week, meh. In hindsight, I think there wasn't enough sauce. My friend did not like her Paloma, and for $14.99, my Skinny Margarita tasted like bottled mix.- - - -It is hard to review right now. They are understaffed. Still, we went at an 'off' time when the restaurant wasn't busy. Around 3pm.Pros:Super friendly, funny and welcoming staff !!Clean.Cons:I LOVE their cheese enchiladas, they are THE BEST - when served hot. Sadly, mine was room temp. They probably made my entree, and let it sit while they made my bf's Chile Rellano. Boo. Their enchiladas are the main reason that I dine here. Other than the friendly, hard working staff. My guy's drink was pricey, for what it is. Whatever. We will always continue to dine here !

First time here. Recommended by a friend. The wait to be seated was quick. Friendly people greeted us. Waitress was super friendly m food was really good . I had the 2 item combo with enchilada and tostada. Both delicious. Generous portions! The beans and rice, which I couldn't finish, were taken home to enjoy the next day. I usually leave my beans and rice at other places because the are ehhh. These beans and rice were delicious! The decor was fun too! Definitely going back!Parking: Small lot but not hard to find a space.Wheelchair accessibility: Roll right on in!

We called a week in advance for my Dad's 60th Birthday and they said there's no reservations just let us know how many people and what day. We clearly stated we wanted a big table once there we get a big table next to the fireplace which is great because it was raining that day and it was freezing, we sit down and I get up to talk to a lady hostess walking around and I tell her if it where possible to turn on the fireplace and her response was "why are you cold"? I said well yeah and it's my dad's birthday that's why we picked this section of the whole restaurant (in the most nicest voice I could round up) and she assured me she would get someone to come and turn it on, 30 minutes pass and our waiter comes and says sorry but the fireplace doesn't work...I reply umm okay? So that was the introduction of Mi Guadalajara Restaurant....Now for my dish that I ordered - Molcajete with shrimp and steak and nopales in a red salsa...what a disgrace for a Mexican dish!.. They added two shrimps on there the steak was the cheapest of its kind little skinny strips the red salsa have might as well been spaghetti sauce and the portions were ridiculous for the price tag. (I will show pictures for reference) And here's the Kicker I'm Mexican and whenever we serve up Molcajete dish it comes in a Lava Rock Molcajete, but Mi Guadalajara Restaurant serves it in a plastic bowl???...What a joke! Also OSHA should come and take a little visit to see is the bowls are BPA Free(talking about eating off boiling hot plastic bowls....The side dish I got where beans and rice and it looked like a week old the guacamole and looked like someone put that together inside a bathroom or something..It's pretty much Jail food. Ignore this place go somewhere else THIS IS NOT REAL MEXICAN FOOD.But don't take my word for it go for yourself and be the judge.

The only gripe id have is that there is an echo inside due to the acoustics and it becomes loud. Good food, good service, great portions,

Food was cooked to order, beans and rice was a little salty for my taste, chips are made in house fresh and crispy. Group beef taco was ok, chicken enchilada was a little salty also. Service was good, our wait person was kind and efficient.Parking: Plenty of parking for this location

Went Saturday night without a reservation, said it would be 20 minutes but really waited 10 minutes. Host was kind and prompt. Restaurants was loud - like really loud. And we were seated next to the kitchen, so that didn't help either.

Always a pleasure to eat here, last time the wait was an hour so we did have to to leave due to my elderly mother.

My wife and I had lunch here recently while visiting from the L.A. area and were pleasantly surprised. The food was good and the lunch specials were reasonably priced. Service and ambiance were good. We would go back again the next time we're in Escondido.

If you’re looking for excellent Mexican food in Escondido, this is the place! This restaurant has a cool vibe to it. The entrance looks like a volcano. Not sure what this building was before it became Mi Guadalajara, but the parking lot feels like maybe it was a bank or something with one way lanes and a big awning covering part of the lot.Inside the decor is amazing! Colorful murals immediately catch your eye as you go to your table. The dining room is circular so it gives the impression of being inside a volcano! The food is truly excellent! This is a family owned restaurant and it shows with their traditional Mexican fare! I had 2 ground beef enchiladas with rice and refried beans, and they were delicious! My wife had a giant burrito stuffed with ground beef and my daughter had the carne asada burrito. Everything was delicious. Our waiter was attentive and polite. We had the house margaritas and they were awesome. Excellent food at an excellent price
