Ksenia is trying to save face. She's claiming she said she could do less on the grazing table and still honor the $8/person. She did not, I have not dealt with such horrific customer service and now lies about ME threatening HER, if threatening means leaving a review and her saying "do what you have to do". What a monster of a human, and remember friends: you reap what you sow. ***updated the above to respond to Ksenia's false claims of threats***I had the unfortunate experience of negotiating with Ksenia for my December nuptials. I have email confirmation chains of her agreeing to $8/person for 75 guests for a grazing table. I had been speaking with her since JULY! Today 10/07/23 I called to make an appointment to do tastings and lock in our menu. She was so helpful initially in July she then on the phone today told me she was increasing prices to $12/person because labor and costs. Hold on... I have an entire email chain to her agreeing to $8/person! Then she had the audacity to say, "I don't owe you anything" and she lied saying "I don't have emails with that price". Not only was she not giving us basic human decency and respect, she called us liars. We felt strong armed so we said ok if we do $12/person we want to speak with you face to face. She new she messed up and refused to do work for us cause she was too cowardly to meet us in person, after she called us liars. Please for all that is good and holy don't use this disrespectful human's business. Go to someone who honors their word and who doesn't pull a catch 22 for the sake of a buck. (Uploaded was the most recent email chain so she can't claim to have not been in the email chains, and to show I didn't make any of this up!). She told me she didn't care if I left a bad review. The disrespect.

Delicious food great service!!!I ordered catering for bday party of my husband, Kseniya is great communicator we worked together to pick good menu, the guys came with food they set up everything for party, they delivered everything with beautiful decorations on food. Smoked and Tasty at 138 W. Grand in downtown Escondido was our lunch spot today. Situated on a block that hasn’t been kind to unique food joints, let alone any restaurant, this gem brings flavor in spades. You will love the aroma of the shop and their sandwiches were amazing. She had the lox on a plain bagel. Fresh smoked salmon with a delicious cream cheese made in house. I devoured the chicken on a jalapeño bagel. Smoked to perfection, covered in a bold pesto and cheese. We had Smoked and Tasty cater a birthday party dinner at our house and everything was beautiful and delicious. From the appetizers to the mains to the desserts, everything was absolutely top notch, delicious and made from scratch. I'm rooting for this place... easy to miss beside shuttered Barrel Republic - they sell smoked meats, smoked cheeses, pierogies. It's fun and unexpected - and what I've purchased here so far has delivered. They also seem to keep a loose schedule - sometimes they're open when they say and sometimes not. This restaurant also does catering. They did a 50th wedding anniversary dinner for us last week with a prime chateaubriand and it was delicious. Totally enjoyed by the attendees. Appetizers were smoked shrimp and Crostini with Prosciutto.Very easy to work with also.Would recommend this catering to anyone.DanSan Marcos
The best salmon soup I have had in years! I went to the store just because I parked right it front and was curious of such a different deli store in downtown Escondido. I learned that many products are as made in Georgia (the country). Loved to learn new things talking to Giorgy (I hope I wrote it correctly...and I made him write his name in his unique language! loved that, thanks for the linguistic lesson!). He makes very unique bread with cheese on top. I got that bread, also a smoked cheese braid, also Georgian style (super delicious...As I mentioned the soup, it comes frozen and is fully packed of ingredients, so I was able to have 3 full soups to eat home out of that container. So happy with this finding, will go back often and try everything. I also got a couple of dessert locally and daily made and very fresh and tasty too.

The smoked sturgeon, smoked salmon belly and lox we're delicious! What a great find and I can't wait to go back and try some of the other smoked meats and cheeses. I had the lox and cream cheese bagel. It was beautiful and the cream cheese had herbs and was so good! It was piled high with lox and the traditional toppings as well. The service was very nice and I was offered to try salmon jersey, wow, who knew it could be so good! The shop is small but had a nice selection of ore packaged salads, soups and other delicacies. And...a very nice pastry display. I tried the heart shaped mouse and it tasted almost as good as it looked. I'm also considering them for catering as the recommendations for that have been great. Let's support this small business, I know I'll be back!

Hired Smoked and Tasty to cater my birthday! We had about 30 people and everyone was super impressed with the food and everyone came back for seconds!For mains we had the steak, chicken and salmon and all three were scrumptious!!! For sides we had the rice, mixed veggies and roasted potatoes - there was nothing left by the end of the evening even though we had ordered extra!Guests were also raving about their desserts. Highly recommend and we will be returning again and again!

We attended a party catered by Ksenia last weekend and the food was delicious. The Salmon was cooked to perfection and I am very picky with my salmon. Grilled veggies were to die for, I went in for seconds and thirds. The cake was sinful and the cheeseboard was anything but boring. It included golden berries and I thought that was such a delightful and adventurous touch. All in all, smoke and tasty are now on our list of catering resources. Highly suggest!
