My teenage daughter and her friends went to the Escondido Swamies (6/17) to have a nice brunch with a friend who came into town for a visit. Upon being seated the girls asked if they could sit outside and the service/hostess said that they don't want to sit out there because of too many bugs. There was already patrons sitting out there so where is the problem? Is it because the server just didn't want to deal with them outside? Dishes can out extremely late, which I understand because I'm chalking it up to possibly being short staffed, but an order of waffles came out so late that the other girls were almost done with their food. We are talking about waffles not a made to order omelette. Again...seems like the server had no intentions of giving these girls good service. Girls had to ask another service for refills. I was a server for many years and I understand sometimes waiting on teenagers can be exhausting. But not every teenager is like that and they don't deserve being blown off by the staff. Some ordered water so maybe the server thought they weren't going to tip very much since drinks didn't jacked up the bill. And the server never asked if they needed anything or how their meal was. I always remind my daughter to tip very well. In this case I hope she didn't. I wanted to keep loving you but the discrimination to good kids, who brought their own money, is unacceptable. In all fairness I'm sure not all the servers are like this.

The food was great, and it arrived incredibly fast after our order. Everything tasted like it was homemade and not mass produced like a chain restaurant. The only negative was the self-serve coffee bar. Not that I am super fancy, but I don't want to have to keep getting up to get my own coffee. It was just odd to have to pay for coffee that I have to get up and keep getting myself. Other than that it was pretty good.

Brunch today on the patio, only half the patio was open and there's a sign on the door advising of their short staffing. The fruit and yogurt bowl with granola and gluten free pancake with eggs and bacon. All of it was delicious and we weren't able to finish our meals. Wait staff was friendly and prompt.

I have always enjoyed Swamis for outdoor eating and food but I am very disappointed on the customer service and just service in general at the Escondido location. I understand being unstaffed these days but the staff that is working should try to have a smile, a hello and at least pretend like they like their jobs. Lots of training is needed.

We went for brunch on the patio with 5 people and 5 dogs. Our waitress, Melissa, was great with both the people and the dogs. Food was very good and service was excellent. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was because the coffee is not great, despite having several options. Also, the location is pretty noisy due to the traffic.

So good! I got the chicken club sandwich and my husband got the mahi mahi wrap with sweet potatoes.

Today I came in with my cousin, her fiancé, and her little brother. We ordered a peanut butter coffee smoothie. We were given a regular peanut butter smoothie instead. When the girl came to give us the first smoothie (the hostess), she turned to our waitress that was attending someone else to tell her that we order the coffee one. My cousin and I saw her roll her eyes as soon as she told her that she'd have to bring out a different one instead. After that, her attitude towards us changed. She looked annoyed and didn't even ask us if we wanted boxes for our food before bringing the check. We left very disappointed. We didn't know that asking for someone to bring in our correct order would put them in a bad mood.

Went for sweet potato pancakes and they are no longer on the menu, bummer. So I had the cranberry/orange waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon. The waffle was flavorful but a bit dry and the eggs overcooked to the point of being really dry. Bacon was acceptable.

This was such a great lunch spot that my fiancée and I found while we were visiting San Diego. Our servers were super nice and friendly and our food was fresh and filling. I would happily come back here again the next time we visit. I started my lunch off with the Indian curry soup and the tropical storm smoothie. Both were phenomenal. The blended lentils in the soup were nice and velvety smooth, while the curry taste came out both apparent and perfectly balanced with the other tastes and textures. It was super enjoyable. The smoothie was very strong with the pineapple flavor (which I love) and the toasted coconut added a really nice chew that complemented the taste very well. Finally, for my main, I had the ultimate veggie sandwich. Man, this sandwich is huge! It's loaded with fresh veggies, delicious avocado, basil dressing, and Swiss cheese. Between the cheese, avocado, dressing and I threw a bit of Cholula on it, it developed a nice creamy texture with a small dash of heat. it was like eating an amazing salad in between two slices of a nice toasted bread. The only minor complaint I had is that they put broccoli florets on it, which were really big in between the toast and kept falling out. It would probably be more enjoyable if they finely riced it, added some salt, pepper, lemon juice and butter to make more of a broccoli spread that will stay on the sandwich, as well as add some more fresh flavors. This is a great spot to grab a light, healthy meal that I would definitely recommend checking out. I'm sure I'll be back.

Arrived here and was given an estimated wait time. Stood directly outside in the waiting area and watched as the person who checked in immediately before me was called and then saw parties of the same size that had checked in after me getting called. I checked in with the hostess to ask what our position was on the waitlist and she told me our name had already been called, let her know I had been standing right outside and no one had called my name. She then offered to add my name on the list again.

The food here is okay but they do have an extensive menu with lots of options. My avocado toast was very bland. I have to sit outside because I have a dog but there are always tons of flies. Not my go to brunch spot but the food is decently priced and the waitstaff is great.

Great place with a phonebook size menu. We stopped in for breakfast and found so many choices we will have to return. Fast and friendly service (Thanks Melissa) with no problems even with my wife's custom eggs order. I had the Lobster Omelet with Hollandaise sauce and it delivered with lots of sweet meat and a sauce that didn't overpower. Great potatoes with peppers and seasoning. I liked that the coffee was serve-yourself since there is never any waiting for a refill. The lunch menu looked great as well with lots of unique burgers. Next time I think.

Delicious food and friendly service. Four adults of various ages had an orange cranberry waffle, Mexican burrito, Denver omelet and avocado Florentine Benedict. All were delicious and plentiful, and we have to-go boxes to prove it! We sat outside u der an umbrella but they have standing heaters as well for chilly days. I would return next time we visit California.
