the dept of transportation is effectively running a busy-ness, providing lodging for squatters yet not quite ready to charge rent and deliver services, water & sanitation at the least, oft the path of least resistance is that gov't exec, gavin newsom. President Ronald Reagan said it best, Big government is like an infant, All appetite at one end and NO responsibility at the other end. The people want to Be served esp. the poorest of the poor, however The civil servants want those destitute to propagate their tenured salaried position of lassitude by being a squatter on the right of way not unlike the civil servant squats behind a cubicle closing their eyes to the crime of depravity. When easily a gov't executive could safely secure proper utility and charge a fair rent and then plat & plot a decent order for domiciles (tents), instead those executives would rather see feces, sputum, and urine depositations and what little income stream be used for drug paraphernalia to numb the mind of those barely living and doing so in their own filth. the p.r.c. would easily take over and dismiss w/prejudice such executives and their lackey civil servants. when they do, good luck learning cantonese or mandarin. the fish rots from the head. start w/the govenor, current and those of the recent past. yuck.

Everybody that works for Caltrans has always been very nice I’m never there directing traffic throughout the freeways they mark the areas very well when speed changes and they stay pretty much out of line fire of the cars I always take the change of speed very seriously because it’s true somebody’s father husband grandpa whatever is working on those roads

A shout out and huge THANK YOU to cal trans and the attendant for the Empire Camp rest spot on 101 North of Laytonville. It is always spotless clean and no matter what day or time I stop he is always out there busy cleaning. He probably doesn’t get much thanks but I for one really appreciate it.

Shame on Caltrans all of the dangerous cross traffic on the Eureka-Arcata safety corridor, as well as the absurdly high highway speed limits (upwards of 65 MPH) in general.

So very happy that the people at all levels are listening to those that live along these roads, using them daily for work, school, and long distance travel. After making a complaint about the 'faint painted lines', they actually called and assured me it would be reviewed and the work would be done, as needed. Wow, what a mind blower that within 2-3 weeks, a beautiful bright white line was laid at the edge of CA 299 both ways, from Willow Creek to Blue Lake, making it easier to see the road at night with oncoming headlights in your face. Thank you 100,000 times!
