Special of the day grilled cheese with tomato soup for $15. Grand daughter said sandwich was fine very cheesy, but I tasted the soup (served with a fork) and it was jarred spaghetti sauce!! I had the vegi wrap, it was shredded lettuce, a couple diced tomatoes and onion. On heated tortilla. I know this is a tiny Cafe with little kitchen space but come on, you can do better! The onion rings were very greasy, so the coating was soggy. We would have enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly way more than what we had, but that's not on the menu.

Nothing fancy but very good food and a nice place to eat it. There's often a bit of a wait to get your order but it's hot and tasty when you get it and you can check out some of the exhibits while you wait. Don't forget, zoo memberships get you a discount on food! Also, it's right near the entrance so it's easy to go to the zoo just for a meal.Vegetarian options: They make a good garden burger and you can get salad instead of French fries.Kid-friendliness: Standard kids menu but with particularly good chicken strips.

This place was so incredible. there's 5 more stars because yelp only lets me give 5 stars. The zoo is expanding and adding a new exhibit with bears and coyotes so there's some construction going on right now but there were a lot of animals still. The red pandas were so cute! The real draw of this zoo though is the redwood skywalk. What a treasure! The whole thing was so easy to do, it was a little misty but everything was grippy and safe (not slippery at all). Also, just in case you're looking for wheelchair accessible activities...the redwood walk is wheelchair accessible. There's a tiny segment that isn't wheelchair accessible (that part has some different style of bridges) but the whole thing was incredible. You are really immersed in the trees!

This is such a charming place to visit, I just bought a membership pass so I can pop in for some smiles more often! This is a small but very charming historic zoo in a fabulous forest setting. There is a lot of construction going on for a big new exhibit, but there are still plenty of other little nooks to explore. The Redwood Sky Walk itself is worth the price of admission just for the thrill of walking over the redwood forest from above. Everyone is always smiling at this zoo, and especially the people working here. These are the friendliest, most welcoming people you'll ever meet!

Cute little zoo We dropped by on our way home and this zoo is a gem to see. Feed the otters, see the flamingos, enter the quiet bird nest, pet the farm animals, walk on the high skywalk to see everything in the zoo. Fresh air and redwood trees make it more foresty magical.

We came to see the redwood trees and looked up other places to see and the Sequoia Park Zoo popped up. I'm so glad we went to check it out. It's a beautiful zoo and the sky walk was the highlight of our day! It's so cool! If you ever find yourself in Eureka make a visit to Sequoia Park Zoo you will not be disappointed!

I love to go to the zoo. But not on Sunday. I don't like to see the people making fun of the animals, when it should be the other way around -- Ernest Hemingway This is a zoo on its way up! It has the tourist draw of the Redwood Skywalk and a cool new bear/coyote exhibit coming in. Plus there is a llama, alpaca, river otters, flamingos, birds, turtles. It's located in a charming city park that has a redwood path below the skywalk and a nice rose garden. Pricey at $24.99 for tourists but the bathrooms are clean so it's a good stop after driving. Recommended.

It was clean but not worth the price. $25 for a non resident is a bit much for what animals they have. I definitely won't be coming back. It's a bummer because it's one of the few places that are kid friendly in Humboldt.

Such a gem in the area and truly an amazing experience for both children and adults. The animals are all well-treated here, with some being rescue animals. The bald eagles are magnificent and worth seeing. You will also want to check out the sea otter feedings (about 20 min) that are repeated throughout the day. A small underwater "tunnel" is available for young children. Redwood Skywalk is a must. Just be sure to follow directions and keep hands and feet within the structure! Recommended multiple rounds for the skywalk to maximize the experience. Last, do not miss the goat petting. Petting brushes and hand washing stations are provided.

This was the highlight of our stay in Eureka. I don't typically like zoos but this one was the perfect size and really well done. We were able to go at opening, have lunch, be out by 1. No one was too tired or overwhelmed afterwards. The skywalk offers a good amount of thrill. Part of it was on an unmoving walkway and is accessible for wheelchairs, people who are unsteady on their feet, or who have vertigo. There is a turnaround point halfway. The other half is on suspended bridges that slightly sway, rock, and shift as people walk across. It was amazing being up so high in the trees but didn't feel dangerous. The red pandas were the other highlight. They are so adorable and cuddly looking. They were moving around and easy to see during our visit. There is also a petting zoo with farm animals, some smaller animals from South America, some animals that had been injured and can't be released into the wild, and a few cute river otters that looked happy in their set up. It's rare that I leave a zoo feeling like it is an organization that is genuinely trying to educate people and not just exploit "exotic" animals. That plus the redwood skywalk made the visit to Eureka worth it.

The Skywalk was exceptional with many opportunities for photos. Particularly enjoyable was interacting with the park/skywalk volunteer who clearly pointed out and described many features of the Redwood grove…enjoyable and educational at the same time, you can’t beat that ?.

Great place. Very affordable. Family loved it. Not big. But it was the perfect size for our family. Was very memorable!

Great zoo! They have a little bit of everything but my favorites are the eagles, red pandas and the redwood skywalk. Very unique zoo and worth the visit for sure. It can get pretty busy on the weekends so try to go during work hours M-F.

I used to work at a larger, fellow AZA-accredited zoo for several years and this tiny little zoo blows our zoo out of the park in the cafe department and in making good use of space to provide a luscious area for their animals. The high standard of care is obvious. The spider monkeys live in a mansion, the otters have an excellent recreation of their natural habitat. I could go on! Wonderful.
