Nice but not amazing… they don’t do the wheel of cheese anymore - just a bowl of pre-grated cheese they scoop on your plate. You have to buy your own dessert for birthdays for them to sing to you.

Always had friendly staff until one night, would have appreciated some RESPECT, a bus boy’s exact words, “You need to leave!”perhaps we talked 5 minutes after bill was paid? I get it that restaurants turn tables but it was the way the message was rudely delivered ?Sadly we won’t be returning.Too bad, had been consistently bdecent food with occasionally experiencing some overly salty meals but they were usually rectified.At some point was considered my new favorite restaurant after discovering about 8 years ago, used to drive an hour to dine here and had recommended to everyone at work.

I just don't get the hype. It's charming, I'll give them that. Long wait time on a Friday doesn't bother me if the food and service are good. While most of the folks working there were very friendly, our server was slow to make contact. Again, it was busy. I'll give her that. But, we seemed completely unimportant to her. Service once order was taken was good. Food: My chicken parm was ok, but lacked the full flavor of tomato sauce and Parmesan one would expect from the dish. My husband had the lasagna bolognese which he described as rubbery. Not impressed. We were not asked once if we needed anything or how we liked the food. When we asked for take home containers we were brought the check, never asked if we wanted dessert. Our favorite part was a toss between the animal crackers and the gummy bears given with the check .

Time and time again…. Over several years… we have always appreciated the amazing servers and incredible food. The specials are just that…. Special …. And should always be considered. This is our “go to” restaurant for a night out. Thank youKid-friendliness: People friendly….. which is even better than kid friendly
What a gem of a place. It's like stepping into your grandmothers kitchen, only she's invited the entire neighborhood to come for dinner, everyone has requested their favorite food and grandma says yes to everyone. This means it's loud and bustling but the energy is exciting and fun! The sisters that run Sorella work hard and know how to run a restaurant efficiently. Reservations recommended and arrive early as parking is tricky. The menu is enormous and it was so difficult to choose what to order. I settled on the chicken piccata, husband got the Marsala, grandma had the carbonara and the kids each went for the bolognese. Our drinks came out quick and food was even quicker. Service overall was great even though it was a busy Saturday night. Our server made sure to keep our drinks full which doesn't always happen. I wish I could visit this place every week, if you're lucky enough to live in Marin, I think it's well worth the drive to Fairfax for authentic homemade Italian recipes in a lively atmosphere.

Love, love, love Sorella. Food is consistently good, service is excellent, owner makes you feel very welcome. Acoustics are not good if you want to have a conversation...way too loud. But, some people find the noise energizing, I suppose.
