Hot Dog on a Stick has been a staple in the world of fast food for as long as I can remember, and my recent visit reminded me why it has stood the test of time. Nestled in a bustling shopping mall, this bright and cheerful kiosk beckoned me with its mouthwatering promise of hot dogs and fresh-squeezed lemonade. Here's my take on the Hot Dog on a Stick experience.Food (★★★★☆):The star of the show is, of course, their namesake hot dog on a stick. Whether you opt for the classic turkey or veggie dog or venture into the realm of cheese on a stick, the combination of savory, slightly salty, and slightly sweet flavors will hit the spot. The cornmeal breading is crisp and golden, adding a satisfying crunch that complements the juicy hot dog inside. It's simple, but it works. The portion size is generous, making it a satisfying snack or a quick meal option.Lemonade (★★★★☆):Hot Dog on a Stick is also renowned for its fresh-squeezed lemonade, and rightfully so. The lemonade is tart, sweet, and refreshingly cold, making it a perfect companion to the hot dog. It's a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but it's easily customizable with extra lemon or water upon request.Service (★★★☆☆):The service at Hot Dog on a Stick is efficient but not particularly memorable. The staff is friendly and gets the orders out quickly, which is great for a fast-food joint. However, it's the kind of place where you order at the counter and take your food to go, so don't expect a fine-dining experience.Atmosphere (★★★☆☆):As it's often located in malls, the atmosphere is casual and bustling. Seating areas are typically minimal, so it's not the ideal place for a leisurely meal. Nevertheless, the vibrant color scheme and the iconic Hot Dog on a Stick uniforms add a fun touch to the dining experience.Value for Money (★★★★☆):Hot Dog on a Stick offers good value for the quality and quantity of food you receive. While it may not be the healthiest option out there, it's a tasty and satisfying indulgence that won't break the bank.Final Thoughts:Hot Dog on a Stick is a reliable choice for a quick and delicious bite, especially if you're in the mood for a classic hot dog with a twist. While it may not offer gourmet dining or a unique culinary experience, it excels in delivering what it promises: a tasty, affordable, and nostalgic treat. Whether you're shopping at the mall or simply craving a guilty pleasure, Hot Dog on a Stick is sure to hit the spot.

Just noticed Hot Dog on a Stick was closedI remember when it first opened back in 84-85 at the Solano Mall. Me and my Brother walked up to see the workers making the lemonade in that big container looking like they were using a jack hammer to mix it and wearing those yellow, blue and red uniforms and hats! My and my Brother fell out laughing(bcuz we were)but we got some corn dogs and a lemonade and I was HOOKEDI'm Gonna Miss 'HOT DOG ON A STICK'!!

Hot Dog on a Stick, I miss you. Almost every location in the Bay Area has closed. I made a detour to stop at this one. The corn dogs were delicious as always, and nobody does a lemonade better. No one (except homemade, that is, but this tastes like a good homemade one). It's really sad they've closed so many locations. Hope this one sticks around.

Not sure what is going on but all the equipment and fryer have been removed. There is no sign saying if they finally have called it a done deal with being in the mall for over 25+ years. We have tried using the order app but it acts like there is no location near Fairfield.Really liked the crew that was there previously before covid as they were worlds better than the current crew that was there.

Thanks for burning the crap out of my corndog guys. My real question is if you solid it was this badly burned why would you not just say hey I need to make you new ones instead of hoping that I'm going to walk away with it.

I came to order and was about to pay with card and was told cash only and had a $100 and then was told couldn't take it so I said to cancel order. Don't know what's up with them today. Hope they fix that soon.

I appreciate the fact they wear gloves, however it would be nice to see them change them! They touch money, the door, counters and go and make your food with the same gloves on!! But yet worried about Covid. I see frozen food just left out on the counter! The frozen watermelon lemonade is fire tho!

"only lemonade (no food) and only credit card payments"Would have been nice to know that before waiting in line for 10 minutes. Half an hour before closing, best practice is to turn away sales. Lost $15 from me.

Solano Town Center Mall location Opening time is scheduled and advertised for 11am. Patiently Waited until 11:40am as we can clearly see the machinery on and workers in the back. Lights off at the front, no signage to notify Customers of anything going on- only to find out after we had Security check on workers to see if they were ok- they decided they were going to open at 12:30pm instead. What an operation lacking leadership. A simple sign to notify Customers would have been helpful. This lets people know you value their business so communication like that would've been appreciated. Management needs to know this .

Best corn dog I've had in a good while that wasn't from a fair. Fried to perfection !

I had a Veggie Hot Dog. The tall white male worker wasn't that friendly. More mechanical than anything else. For $3.89 plus tax I won't be going back.
