This is the best spot to get authentic Mexican food and at very reasonable prices. We had chili reanos and a lengua chimichanga, they were both exceptional. The chimichangas come with guacamole and sour cream for no extra charge! It is very nice that you can help yourself to chips and many salsas along with jalapenos and limes for no extra charge. My family prefers going to this restaurant over all of the other choices in the area. The people who work there are always polite and friendly, a family atmosphere. Please tip them well, you will still save money, and they are worth it.A lot of people order door dash and the like here.Definitely a once a week stop for us.Kid-friendliness: They treat my daughter like she was their own.

There are many awesome foods at Pelayo's Mexican Restaurant, like Burritos, Chips, and many more. I really like their awesome service they have. They also have nice surroundings in the restaurant, like the awesome tiles on the walls. The staff were nice, and I really liked the table design. I liked the salsa bar along with some sauce. Burritos had nice rice, beans and cheese. As above, I give this restaurant a five-star review!! From Arjun, age 8

We stopped here to get food for a family friend and it was delicious! We got the carne asada fries and crispy tacos. The service was great and very fast and prices were pretty normal. Overall I enjoyed our experience.

Went for the first time tonight. I ordered a burrito with grilled chicken and whole black beans. Disappointed to say the least. I arrived home with a grilled chicken burrito with refried pinto beans. The staff that took my order was pleasant, she took the right order, staff in back of house needs to pay more attention to the customers order ticket.

Oh my heavens, just 3 stars?! What the H is wrong with you people?! This is 5 Stars all the way!!! I just moved here after spending my last 25 years in Southern California. I have searched high and low for a place that serves handmade tortillas and chips. And this it!They are so ridiculously delicious that I went two days in a row. Their lengua is absolutely divine and their chips are as addictive as heroin. I assume. I've never tried heroin but from what I understand, it's very addictive. But I digress. All the salsas are scrumptious and the Staff is so nice I had both soft and hard tacos, haven't picked a favorite yet, as well as a cheese enchilada. My son loved the burrito and my fiancé was disappointed she only ordered the Child's quesadilla. Next time, she'll definitely order the bigger one. Pelayo's, thank you for becoming one of my new regular spots.

I was hesitant in co.ing here due to the average rating, and the pictures looked ok. (The food didn't look good in the picture ) I was running errands in the area and was hungry. So I gave it a chance. I ordered carnitas burrito and add sour cream. I was surprised considering the reviews. It was a really good burrito. It had lots of flavor and a good ratio of ingredients and the Pico is amazing. Today, same situation, ordered a shrimp burrito and add sour cream..........OMG! It was amazing....like really amazing. I eat a lot of burritos....this is definitely in top 5 lifetime! The shrimp was seasoned, they didn't skimp on the shrimp, an excellent amount of ingredients, OMG! And the spicy pico!!!!! And the best part, the price! $10 bucks for a really good burrito is almost unheard of in the bay. The shrimp burrito you pay like $2 more for. Definitely worth it! Will be back again in person, door dash reviews are not so great!

Disgusting!! My husband found two hair in his burrito!!! Never going to order from here again!

Food is great WHEN THEY FOLLOW THE ORDER. No pico doesn't mean pico everywhere. No sour cream means sour cream. A wet burrito with enchilada sauce shouldn't be covered in GREEN SAUCE. My fault for not checking it before I drove away with it. The counter service is sub par and employees should use a big boy voice so customers can understand them. Like I said, when it's done right the food can't be beat.

Fast service, nice people and truly great Burrito bowls! Also it's clean. When I do Door dash the food is still as yummy as being there in person. Can't ask for more! Oh yeah and the prices are very competitive.

EXTREMELY BAD AND NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE: About a month ago, I ordered a wet chicken burrito and found a piece of nasty and rusty metal in my food. I bit into the burrito and thought it was over cooked chicken I was chewing, but after a while it didn't seem right. I chewed on it a few times and then spit the food out and found a metal piece the size of a nail in my burrito.Felt absolutely disgusted and had a very nasty taste in my mouth for the next few weeks. I contacted my doctor to make sure there wasn't any health threat or anything of that sort.I emailed the owner of the restaurant and explained the entire story and sent him a picture of the metal piece I found. He said he will refund the money and file a claim with his insurance because of the issue that occurred. After not responding, I kept emailing the owner to get a response and he finally refunded my order close to a month later. And when I asked him about the claim, his excuse was he's waiting to hear back from his suppliers and will get back to him. I still haven't heard back from him and instead filed a complaint with Solano County Health Inspection. It's a shame that this occurred and Pelayo's just ignores their customers and doesn't take responsibility for their actions. Take your business elsewhere, where the handling of food is safe and healthy.

The was just ok. The jalapeño cream was good and spicy. I had a steak taco and flauta. The rice and beans were the best part, which I think is important at a Mexican restaurant. So this place is just ok. Oh, the service was good too. They were polite. The inside was very clean and bright as well. Overall, this is a good place for a short lunch.

One of the worst mexican food restaurants I've been to. Tastes and looks like dog food. I ordered 2 tacos and a chile relleno. The chile looks like a tortilla. Meat was chewy. The guy was cleaning everything with windex so the whole meal we were smelling it. So many better options to return here.

This was our go to place because it's conveniently located and the food was pretty good. Unfortunately, they have a very high turn over in employees and since the pandemic they have cut way back on portion sizes. The last two times i visited the portions of meat in my super burrito and beef enchilada was ridiculous. I had to tear away 50% of the tortilla to find the meat in the burrito and the meat in the enchilada was insulting. Don't waste your time or money.
