Likely a great cake designer. Very difficult to work with. She committed to doing the my cake. I sent a sketch of what I would like. She sent back a sketch something completely different. I asked if we could focus on the detail that was important to me. She then cancelled the order ( via email ) and said 'I don't think I can make you happy!' Pretty unbelievable as just the day before we talked about the design I did want and she said she could easily make it. Buyer Beware ! Misty will agree to do your cake, then change the agreed upon plan to something different without any discussion, and then will cancel your order if you don't agree. VERY unprofessional .

We had Briarmist make our wedding cake. It exceeded our expectations! The cake was a beautiful work of art. In fact, some of our guests thought that the cake was fake. Not only was it stunning, but it was so delicious! We were lucky to get a taste during the cake cutting, because there was not a single slice left by the end of the night. Unprofessional! I scheduled a cake tasting appointment with Misty over a month in advance. As we were nearing the address, we were already concerned because it was a residential area, and sure enough the address took us to a house, completely unmarked. We hesitantly knocked on the door and were told by Misty's family that Misty was out of town and wouldn't be back until the next week. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and double-checked my messages and emails again, but I never received any word that she could not make the appointment. I've never worked with someone so unprofessional. Needless to say, I did not bother to get in touch again.
We are completely delighted to have had our "gender reveal" cake done by Briarmist Cakes! She was so proficient and creative with our request! The cake was beautiful and it was DELICIOUS!

Briarmist cakes was a preferred vendor through my venue (The Grand Tradition in Fallbrook). I had tried a few other bakeries at other bridal fairs and they all were okay, but nothing special to remember. Once I tried Misty's cake (owner of Briarmist) at the bridal fair at my venue, I was blown away and knew I had to look no further for who I wanted to make my wedding cake. Initially, I was a little worried because I expected her prices to be high just because of the quality of the cake. However, after our consultation I was ecstatic to learn that her prices were extremely reasonable and within our budget. Misty was extremely helpful and helped me get all my ideas for the cake into one cohesive design. In the wedding process, we had to move our wedding date up from the initial date we told Misty. I was worried with now only two months notice that she would already be booked for our new date. Luckily, she was not and ensured us that she would still be happy to do our cake. The day of the wedding, I walked into the ballroom and saw the most beautiful cake that I could've ever imagined. At the actual wedding, I didn't get to enjoy the cake because I was so busy running around. The next day I was so excited to see that we had left-over cake. I dug in and was blown away! It was even more moist and delicious than I remembered. My husband and I literally ate cake straight from the box every time we came back into our hotel room. I couldn't have asked for a better experience or a more flawless cake! Thank you Misty!

I started the process of looking for a bakery that I could rely on for my wedding cake, although we were not looking for anything fancy we still wanted something that would please the pallet. I came across Misty on yelp, read the reviews and decided to give her a call for a consult. She worked with our busy scheduled and we finally met at her home to try the different flavors she had to offer. I can honestly say we didn't have to look any further. The choices were ridiculously good but we were blown away by the apricot WOW!! Long story short , cake was delivered without any worries and on time and our guest Loved it. We even played a little guessing game and were surprised at the flavor and how good it was, they couldn't get enough of the cake. Thank you so much Misty!

I had Briarmist make my wedding cake and it turned out to be AMAZING. Super moist and not too sweet- how a cake should be I found Misty (the owner) through my venue's preferred vendors list. She is very easy to communicate on the phone/email and extremely accommodating. I had a 3pm appointment with her for a cake tasting before i had to rush to my food tasting at Grand Tradition (my venue), but our car broke down on the way there. After AAA came and got our car sorted out, i had completely missed my appointment with her and had to rush instead to my venue. Since i drove all the way from out of town and would not be able to make another trip the next day (i was flying back home to NorCal), Misty was nice enough to let us do our cake tasting at 9pm, after my food tasting. Misty works out of her home and it's not the easiest to navigate at night, but my friend and i managed to eventually get there. I showed her a picture of the cake i had in mind, and after we finalized the design she took out 5 different slices of cake she had baked that day for us to sample. I normally don't like american cake since they tend to be on the sweeter side (light asian cakes are usually more my palette), but these were absolutely scrumptious! Each was super moist and just the right amount of sweetness. I decided on the Vanilla w/Apricot filling, and devils cake with raspberry chocolate filling- my quests absolutely loved both! Her prices are also very reasonable- not cheap but comparable to any other wedding bakery you will find in the area. My favorite thing about working with Misty is how worry-free she makes the whole process. I only met with Misty once, but she was able to bring my visionary cake to life- the real thing looked exactly like the pictures i had showed her. I would hire Briarmist again in a heartbeat if i could do it all over again- Kudos to Misty and her cakes!
